General Santos Hotels with Bars

The rooms are comfy enough, and the A/C, though box type, is not too noisy. Breakfast is OK, and airport pickups are cheaper than a taxi. But... P2800 for the cheapest room is daylight robbery, and you even have to pay P350 extra per night for a fridge. You don't get hand towels, only bath towels. There's no room safe. And both TV (Sky) and wifi (PLDT) are absolutely awful. The TV channels keep breaking up and are almost unwatchable, and the wifi is extremely slow and keeps dropping out completely for minutes at a time. If you stay at this hotel you will end up using your mobile data just to avoid being driven mad by connection dropouts. The in-house wifi won't even load Wikipedia. What is it about Gensan hotels that stops them providing usable wifi? The Royale Hotel wifi is terrible, the Greenleaf wifi is terrible, the Grand Summit wifi is terrible. The only (just about) usable wifi is at the Microtel (which has awful breakfasts and is also seriously overpriced). I come to Gensan several times a year, and now I just resign myself to using massive amounts of mobile data every time I come. Gensan hotels, you are holding your city back.

The hotel is good, but it is often not booked. This is one of the best sprinkle shops in General City. No other hotel is incomparable in terms of facilities or services.

The lights were too dim. Not ideal since we have child. The floor in the bathroom were too slippery not good for children when taking a bath. No floor mats to dry our feet after shower. And no other amenities too boring.

I have been working in the region for over a year, and I have been staying in this hotel for over a week, for a professional stay. The rooms are very comfortable. The service is excellent. You can pay by card at the hotel and in the restaurant. A ticket machine is available in the entrance hall. There is a small, very complete supermarket open 24 hours, where you can also pay by card. The wifi connection is very fast and stable. The sector is also covered by 5G. Having experienced many restaurants in the region, I can say without hesitation that the hotel restaurant is excellent and undoubtedly offers the best value for money in this region. If you love good pizza, this is the place for you! You should know that the hotel is located in a resort by the sea. So there can be lively evenings and music, but only on weekend evenings. In summary, given local standards (sometimes questionable), this establishment is really top notch! I'm extending my stay by a week!

I recently visited the Philippines for 3 weeks. I stayed at three hotels in General Santos (Avior, Green Leaf, and Microtel), and one hotel in Manila (Hilton near the airport). I am posting individual reviews in each hotel, but at the bottom is also a ranking of how each hotel did for each category, from best to worst. As you can see Hilton & Avior scored high and Microtel was bad. Summary: This was BY FAR the worst hotel of the 4. I wouldn't stay here again unless all the other nearby hotels and condos blew up simultaneously. Customer Service: The people were very friendly and accommodating. However, they lost one of my shirts (and a pair of socks) in the laundry and did nothing to take fault, reimburse me, or even apologize. Shower: The shower was flat out HORRIBLE. On the first day there was no hot water (which they tried to fix). The second day, the hot water was sporadic and literally switched from hot to cold every few seconds. The third day, there was limited pressure. And it continued like this the entire time I was there. Food: The breakfast tastes OK, but very limited choices. Basically pre-prepared egg (no live egg station), a single type of soup, a single type of rice (plain), one meat dish (which alternated), one other dish (which alternated), small quantities of fruit, bread, cereal. View: This is the ONE area where the Microtel was very good. They had a decent view out into their parking lot, which they have decorated/landscaped very nicely. Cleanliness: The floor and bathroom were clean. However, the beddings are old and stained. Also, there were tiny little bugs that were making their way into the room from the window-side! Beds: I got a room with two large beds. But as I said above, the beddings are old and stained. Also, the mattresses are not very comfortable. Air Conditioning: The AC unit worked fine and has a remote control. However, it blows directly over the beds which makes it uncomfortable to use while trying to sleep. Other hotels are not arranged like this... Pool: The Microtel has no pool. Gym: The Microtel has no gym. Value: The cost for a room here was close to what it cost at the Avior, and the quality is SO much worse here. AVOID this hotel unless you are getting an amazing deal! Anything past $30 (1,500P) per night is a waste of money for this place. The stay was good except for the space was really micro, and didn’t expect this to be that small. The aircon needs to be fixed as it seems to be too loud. It’s an economy hotel and good for brief stay. The rates are good and just as expected. Did not accept credit card payment? The place seems convenient to nearby commercial area

Good, Clean, peaceful, affordable

A nice green location isolated from the downtown mess but not far from it. A simple local style house with a terrace, a CR, a small kitchen, and a sleeping room with aircon. Sometimes it's noisy here when local company comes to eat out here like walk INS. The pricing is reasonable
