Ddyhx1.5 hrs ride from YIA Airport, but conveniently linked to Pukawon Mall that has pretty much everything you need from nails spa, massage to cinema, shops, eateries, restaurants to supermarket. It's easy (and cheap) to get a grab (local Uber) so not a challenge to get around even to further places.
The room was spacious even for 2, including the bathroom area. Clean and well maintained, cute crab-shaped towel art and welcome amenities as a Bonvoy Gold member. Beds and pillows are a bit soft for my liking (even when I opted for a foam pillow from their pillow menu) but that's a personal preference. All amenities provided in the bathroom.
Service was amazing, such warm smiles and great initiative, from the bell boy who helped with our luggage immediately after we got off the car, to the friendly front desk staff, to the security guards who holds the doors open for us and most of all, the helpful and thoughtful housekeeping team. They saw that we had limited hanging space with too much clothes and put in a standing laundry rack for us, and additional bottles of water, all without asking. Special shout-out to Deelen, Wahyu for the superb service.
The pool looked amazing though I didn't get to try it this time.
Breakfast was also excellent, a wide spread of local, western and Asian. They also offer interesting local herbal beverages. Solomon was thoughtful and offered us to order special items off the buffet when he found out it was our 3rd day of having breakfast at the hotel.
Overall a wonderful stay and I'll be sure to stay here the next time I visit Jogja again.
Hhappy huiOverall okay, worth the price rate.
The staff is helpful and friendly, the restaurant is good, everything is delicious.
I book Deluxe room, with big bed.and it is satified me. I recommend this hotel to any one planning visit Jogjakarta
MMrSenGreat hotel, good view from the room at the city. But even better (actually amazing) 360° view from the rooftop, including of course towards Merapi.
The room is good, there is a nice pool on the rooftop, as well as a good bar. No pool towels, though.
The gym is very small and has a funny triangular shape, was a bit overcrowded with only 6 people at the same time.
Only downside was the breakfast, fresh omelette was good, but some of the sweet bakery goods among the most tasteless things I've ever had.
That said, still a great hotel with a nice art focused lobby and friendly staff. Would recommend.
CCrumpled Nomad | Travel Intelligence SpecialistStaying at ARTOTEL Yogyakarta was a refreshing and enjoyable experience. True to its name, the hotel blends modern hospitality with strong artistic elements, making it stand out from conventional hotels. From the moment you step into the lobby, you’re greeted by bold art pieces and creative design touches that give the place a youthful, contemporary vibe.
The rooms are clean, comfortable, and thoughtfully designed, with just the right balance between functionality and style. While not overly large, the space is well laid out and feels cozy rather than cramped. The bed was comfortable, and overall cleanliness was well maintained throughout the stay.
Location-wise, ARTOTEL is convenient for exploring Yogyakarta, with easy access to cafes, local eateries, and key attractions. The staff were friendly and helpful, adding to the pleasant experience.
Overall, ARTOTEL Yogyakarta is a great choice if you enjoy boutique-style hotels with character and personality. It’s not just a place to sleep, but a creative space that reflects the vibrant cultural spirit of the city.
AAnonymous UserOverall good.
Location: strategic, many bakpia shop near hotel. close to my fav Gudeg Yu Djum.
Staffs are helpfull and responsive.
Note: parking lot cannot properly accomodate if the hotel is crowded or full of guests
NNina RestiThis classic four-star hotel is strategically located in the city center, close to malls and a university. It has a swimming pool and a children's play area. The breakfast is delicious.
GGuest UserPrior to my arrival date, I received a message that the room i booked is under renovation and was offered a different room type which is smaller. From my understanding, it’s a down grade. They should have offered to upgrade instead.
I didn’t cancel my booking as I needed to stay in the hotel to watch a concert held there for convenience. They compensated with dinner meal.
The replacement room is okay.
Location - a bit far from everywhere. But since I booked this hotel for concert purpose, then it’s good for me.
Breakfast option is quite plenty.
MMeyriscaThe hotel is quite comfortable, both the room and the bathroom. It's just that the room is far from the elevator... maybe because it's in another tower. Strategic location.... there is parking but a bit behind the hotel. There is a pool on the rooftop, there is also a small garden where you can chat while looking at the view of Jogja city from above. Fast service.
GGuest UserHere’s
The property is quite old and is no longer under Sheraton management, which is noticeable throughout the hotel. The toilets and ceilings feel outdated and in need of renovation, and the same applies to the air conditioning system, which doesn’t perform up to expectations.
That said, the staff are very cooperative, friendly, and always willing to help, which is definitely a positive aspect of the stay.
