AAnonymous UserThis hotel is located on the edge of Loch Ness, very beautiful and exquisite. The reception guy is very British butler-like, taking the initiative to greet guests and take them to visit the hotel to book dinner and introduce the use of room windows and other details. The breakfast service staff is also very British waiter gentleman service style, breakfast has a made-to-order and buffet very rich, top-notch. It makes people feel that everything in this small hotel is very well maintained. You can walk to the lake. There are not many restaurant options nearby, the nearest sister restaurant tastes very ordinary and the price is slightly higher.

GGuest UserExcellent hostel! Great common self-catering facilities; there were two full kitchens with plenty of tables and seating so multiple parties could be cooking at a time. Staff were very helpful and let me leave my bag before check-in and after check-out to accommodate my bus times.
The room (4-bunk female dorm) was very spacious so plenty of room for sorting through my bags. Bunk was large and included a USB plug and power outlet there. Room had large attached shower and toilet rooms.

GGuest UserA great value stay for the night. The room was clean and bathroom very well kept. The room felt quite new and had all the usual amenities; Hairdryer, Safe etc. Beds were comfy and room very dark with the lights out which was lovely. Staff were freindly and helpful and the location is very central, my only complaint is the room wasn't particularly quiet as noise from outside was fairly heavy and the heating system made quite a bit of noise too. A better stay then expected however and excellent for less then £50.

GGuest UserThis is a convenient and comfortable hotel with a friendly and hardworking staff team. Senior management take note! We stayed for two nights and it looked like the ssme staff were working 24 hours a day!
The only slight negatives about this hotel are that the beds feel tiny. Comfy enough but small. Also, like all Inverness hotels, price per night can be obscene. I refuse to pay more than £70 per night and will not stay here if the price is over £100, which quite often it is.
On the plus side, a very good breakfast buffet is included.

2205528****I chose a hotel near Loch Ness during the trip in the Highlands. When I checked in, it was drizzling and dark. The driver almost drove to the next door according to the navigation. It didn't seem to be the first time I met. I told us the direction of the hotel friendly. The lights were quickly seen on the dark trail, and the English country villas came into view. The front desk of the hotel was not big, the fire in the front hall was red, and the haze was warm. The room is a separate farmhouse next to the main building. It is on the sandy stone path and opens the door. The temperature of the room is warm and bright, as if returning home.
Open the door in the morning, the fresh air is coming, the morning light is shining, and everything is quiet when looking at the green mountains in the distance. Breakfast must be English style, a single order of a freshly made English country full meal or Benedict is a good choice. Not enough to order a buffet meal. Or croissants or cheese or fruit. It is always so rushed by tourists, and they are on the road after breakfast.

GGuest UserEvening event dinner was at best poor. Starter which should have been hot was cold, main course just warm, the desert had run out by the time our table was served.
The hotel toilets were in need of an attendant checking regularly .
We ended up laughing about it with references to faulty towers.
However our room was beautiful, clean, well presented, the bed was very comfortable. We had a great night sleep.
At breckfast the arm of my chair was loose and lifted up when I would go to move my chair in/out from the table. When I was looking around the continental breckfast counter I could hear a male member of the kitchen staff shouting and swearing using the F word, not at all what I expected from any Hotel.
Lasting impression I would not rush back.

LLishBWe arrived later afternoon Andy received us with biscuits what a warm welcome. It has a homely feel with old school locking key, had a fish supper which compliments to the chef Peter was fabulous, great dinner atmosphere with other guests at restaurant and bar/lounge.
Spacious clean room, quality linen and warm enough one minus next door guy snored through our walls (not hotel's fault).
The hot breakfast was served to order which is fab as it gets to you hot and fresh also avoiding waste and dry dull food. So keep it up guys. And keep getting everyone up early enough.

GGuest UserThe Clansman Hotel is a nice place. We were traveling as a family. The view of the Loch from the dining room was wonderful; our rooms didn't have a view but we were OK with that. The food was excellent - my grandson especially loved the full English breakfast; the lady who checked us in was very friendly. Overall it was a lovely experience.

GGuest UserWe were supposed to stay a night on the 3rd, however due to total disaster with the snow (police closing roads, snow gates shut, buses not running, train cancelled last minute) we were unable to travel and had to cancel the onwards travel plans. We explained the situation providing evidence that it was not possible for us to get anywhere and kindly asked if possible to amend to another date, but were refused.
Stayed in the hotel before, not a bad place, but very disappointed that they had not been more understanding of our already disrupted start of the 2026.

Quiet at night.
Situated right on the River Ness with fabulous views of the river from our room.
Lovely building with lots of original features such as high ceilings, sash windows and wood panelling.
Rooms cleaned and beds made every day.
Lift at hotel.
Nice bar with friendly staff.
Helpful reception team.
Luggage storage given on day of departure.
Twin bedded room allocated which we requested.
Well worth the price and much nicer than modern generic hotels locally.
Will definitely stay here again
