Bilbao Hotels with Bars

"Another hotel was cancelled on the day, so I made a reservation at the last minute, prioritizing location and price. The old town, metro and bus stops are all within 5 minutes, and the window overlooked the square, which was beautiful. To be honest, the interior was cheap and not to my liking. It was clean and the hot water pressure in the shower was fine, but the shelf in the refrigerator was broken, and no one helped me when the phone connection in the room was poor. There was only one reception staff member at a time, and they were very businesslike and did not help more than necessary. The hotel, including the room, had a smell like air freshener, so if you are sensitive to smells, be careful. The breakfast buffet was delicious with a wide variety of dishes, and they also provided room service until midnight, which was appreciated if you were tired. Bathrobes and slippers were not included. In summary, the location is good, so it's worth the price."

"Very clean hotel with a huge room :) clean and spacious bathroom. Very well located a few minutes walk from the museum and the city center. Underground parking is a plus (even if paid)."

"It's a nice hotel. Everything you need is there. Good city part around. But the devil was hidden in the details. 1) Upon checking in, I discovered hair from a trimmed beard in the shampoo holder on the sink (while I was yelling and running around in circles my partner had just rinsed it off). 2) Centuries of dust on the shelf and TV. 3) The clock on March 01, 2024 is still set one hour ahead. at 8:40pm I get dressed and run out to a meeting by 9pm. which as it later turns out will be in 1.20 minutes. Answer: the technician is no longer at the hotel today, we will let him know. March 04, 2024, at the time of our departure, the clock is still showing the wrong time. And I thought: ”ok we can live with that”. BUT 3) The room is hot, it's really hot. We Germans and so used to sleep at +17 degrees at night (save money energy and its healthy))). Also my the partner does not tolerate the heat at all (Also if you have age changes or something else... It could be horror). The answer from the hotel: ”It's winter, the air conditioner only works for heating”. This we find out after we have been ”cooling” for a day and a half (but the hotel description has 138 rooms with air conditioning!?). 4) We get a fan to cool down. 5) I discover that the sheets are 50 percent and the pillows are 52 percent synthetic. ((at this point, I realize why they are so sweaty and sweltering to sleep in. I know its subjective). This hotel recived 3 out of 5 in my rating. P.S.: The glasses were not washed perfectly (it's just gazpacho, not oil paint and black tea) The toilet paper holder is positioned so that you hit it with your butt every time you sit down on the toilet, and when you sit down it rests on your chest"

"The hotel is great. Now buying here is complicated. I asked for extra bed and paid for it. When I arrived at it the room n could have extra bed. I still had two beds above when I asked king size. I don't even know where to complain about this??"

"I stayed here for one night on my way to San Seba. It was incredibly convenient, directly connected to the International Station, where the bus to San Seba departs. It was also just a few minutes from San Mame Stadium. The museum and the city center are within walking distance, about a 20-30 minute walk. The facilities are very clean and wheelchair accessible, with amenities and a welcome drink included, which was very helpful. It might be quite expensive during soccer season, but otherwise it's great value for money."

"Blindly selected hotel, not bad Service: polite, warm Parking: no own parking lot, you can park in a nearby public parking lot after unloading your luggage at the hotel, it costs about 20 euros until the next day, which seems to be a common situation for local hotels;"

"We had such a great time this year for Semana Grande. And the Axel Hotel was in the perfect location for us. Right on the river next to a great spot for drinks and food. The rooftop pool is also a great spot to watch the fireworks! The staff was so helpful and friendly. And although we didn't need housekeeping while we were staying there they offered every day to clean our room or swap out towels or necessities for us. What a great experience. We will definitely be back!"

"A nice hotel just opposite the San Mames stadium. Very quiet (unless there's a game of course), really friendly staff at the reception and elsewhere. 5 minutes walk to subway and tram stations, or great walk through the park to the Guggenheim. Greatly recommended"

"Excellent 4* hotel in the perfect location, 12 minutes walk from both Railway station and Intermodal Bus station. Big room, nice beds, all amenities like tv, aircon, kettle, frige and safe. Real bath and bidet in the bathroom. Looks little bit tired, but ok. The only problem was a plastic card room key with magnetic *****, which had been unmagnetized in my pocket several times with earphones case. Hotel has several bars/restoraunts, including one in the inner garden. And meeting areas for conferences."
