Corralejo Hotels with Balcony

I rated a 3 because we stayed her last year and gave it a 5. It is a different experience. Clearly the leadership are delivering a different message to the staff. Last year they couldn’t do enough, we were blown away by the unique experience. We were so excited about coming back, but sadly we’ve been disappointed on numerous occasions. It’s just another hotel now. The staff appear gutted, I can only think this is the corporate experience as opposed to the previous boutique experience. It’s a beautiful hotel with great staff, but sadly they are not able to offer that unforgettable experience we had last year. It’s gone from a customer focus experienced to a revenue focused corporation. We felt like we were getting in the way here, that can be uncomfortable I was told that if I wanted to keep the iron for more than an hour I would have to be charged 9 euros….. in a 5 star hotel!! Bizarre.

Staff very friendly and helpful, very clean and nice, if a little dated rooms. It is perfectly adequate, but it is a slight stretch to say this is a genuine 4 star facility. Whilst there are some nice things on the buffet, the food is very average, and don’t get me started on Enyesque, the supposed fancy restaurant on site. Honestly one of the worst, albeit funniest, dining experiences of my life! You will be strongly encouraged to visit! It is only open Mon, Thurs and Friday, and you can only book by queuing between 9:30 and 10:30 in the morning, choosing your choice of main at the same time. Choice is limited. Still, the menu promised a hot tapas starter and soup… Dinner time arrived and we went eagerly anticipating our food. It was quite an amusing start as there was an extremely drunken Scottish couple celebrating the husband’s 60th, we then took our seats under extremely bright lights and a flurry of waiters racing in and out. I have since read it described as Fawlty Towers-esque, which is bang on. When it came, the ‘tapas’ was average at best, and things soon went rapidly down hill. The pumpkin soup was amongst the worst things I have ever tasted. I think even our waiter knew how bad it was as I had a joke with him, too professional to admit it, but gave a knowing look and joked about Michelin stars, which was very funny and indeed it was a so bad it was hilarious situation! Not even the wine could save us either, as the house red would put a bad vinegar to shame. Any lingering doubts were extinguished when the pork came with a slice of tinned pineapple on it, which was our cue for to get up and leave to dash downstairs to catch the end of the buffet. In the interests of transparency others did stay to the end and many quite possibly didn’t see any issue, but if you enjoy good food, top tip is avoid, avoid, avoid! It’s a small mercy it’s only open 3 days a week! If curiosity does get the better of you, make sure you leave enough time to catch the buffet if you do bail out! Also, to note WiFi on site is pretty bad! But all that aside, a perfectly acceptable place to stay, just go in with realistic expectations!

Lovely hotel.. very clean and all facilities close at hand to the rooms.. plenty of space in the apartments.. staff very friendly and helpful and good choice of food in the restaurant.. it’s about 10 minutes walk from the beach and 20 minutes walk to the high street and main shopping area so nice and quiet in the evenings.. if you want a taxi the reception staff were happy to help and plenty of taxis on the main high street if you don’t fancy walking back… great hotel..

We are a couple in our 40’s and just back from a weeks stay. I am giving my honest review On arrival seems nice and clean and located at the top end of the strip so close to everything. We were given our room and on the map was so far away from everything but thought see when we get there. Our room was 2235 and was a good 10 mins walk from reception and the whole block looked tatty paint falling off the walls and wow the room door was filthy it’s a coat of paint not a major job! Room was just ok don’t be fooled by the delux double it’s far from tbh. I went back to reception and asked to be moved and told was fully booked judging by the empty rooms I saw over the next few days think someone was telling fibs to be honest so just made the best I don’t exaggerate when I saw be careful in the shower 10-15 mins a time to try get the water from freezing to red hot no in between got burned to many times so cold showers were safer. Breakfast was standard but most are to be honest. The evening meal although was not bad was like the m62 in rush hour I stood in a Que for 15 mins to get meat as only cook 6 pieces a time felt sorry for the guy on it he got the brunt but was told management told them can’t cook more than that at any one time so 100 hungry people you can imagine what is like it’s really not big enough I’d hate to be there high season. Can’t fault the staff at all you can see they are trying so hard felt for them. Pool is clean enough and plenty of beds. To sum it up if location is your main priority then it’s spot on but don’t be fooled rooms not delux at all was told all the same and if your in the end block you want your walking boots. We have been to Corralejo 5 times and definitely the bottom of our list of where we stayed it’s not a 4 star at all compared to our experience. We definitely won’t return I’m afraid again not a reflection on the staff but it’s tired needs a good lick of paint and a lot of tlc.

So let's remember these are an extremely reasonable 3* self catering apartments, yes it is a bit tired and dated in places and the kitchen equipment could be more substantial for self catering, however, there is no issue with the cleanliness of the resort, the apartment and communal areas were kept clean and the maintenance team were clearly busy renovating areas of the resort, the reception staff were polite and helpful and when we did have a small issue with a missing sink plug this was resolved within 10 mins. The pool bar was reasonable and extremely friendly, the on site supermarket was well stocked. The only negative was the calibre of many of the guests, this really appeared to be a typical brits abroad resort, waiting to reserve sunbeds at 8.30 every morning, loud inappropriate language in front of young children, and sometimes aggressive nature no doubt caused by over drinking. To conclude, it's a nice 3* resort, but unfortunately attracting typical brits looking to drink heavily, lay in the sun, and adopt an aggressive approach to the staff. I wouldn't hesitate to book again but knowing this was a good location to base myself not necessarily stay on the complex during the day.

Ocean Suites - loved this hotel and would definitely return. I’ve compiled a list of pros & cons. Pros Location - near shops, night life, restaurants and beach Lovely and quiet (although we visited in mid January) On arrival, the wristband you are given has a chip in it which doubles as a room key & charge card Food very good. Not a huge selection but all very fresh. Can’t fault it at all Restaurant staff very friendly Entertainment at night varied but saw a great Motown act and 2 dancers. Queen tribute act fantastic Good branded drinks selection on all inclusive Cocktail selection v good and reasonably priced - not much over 8 euros Rooms lovely - Nice toiletries in room. would recommend poolside location. 2 beautiful swimming pools. We were at quiet pool but lots of activities at other pool. Pools are heated but very cold until you are in Pool snack bar - fantastic food. Salmon bagels and poke bowls are amazing Great book swap library in entertainment area. Gym - outside under cover gym with good range of equipment Mamma Mia speciality restaurant - excellent. Steak is huge but really good. Great pizza Leo and entertainment staff excellent. Always smiling and go as far as getting extra seats at entertainment area. Cons Entertainment area - Huge pillars in entertainment area block your view. Seats are incredibly uncomfortable. Bar only opens for an hour while act is in. Not enough seats. Stops sharply after act finished - a disco would have been great. Everyone goes upstairs to the bar but not enough seats. Pool bar - staff unfriendly- totally unlike other hotel staff. Again loads of room but only 5 tables outside so shortage if you want to sit in the sun Hotel is no smoking. One of few smoking areas right next to poolside bar 😫 Only 1 toilet (3 cubicles) - same for gents, which cover restaurant, entertainment and bar area. Not sure how often they are cleaned but they were often very untidy and unpleasant Room cleaning very slow - some days nearly 4pm when you want to get ready Other Info Safe in room is 2 euros/day Towels supplied. Nice hotel near the old town, very short walk to nearest supermarkets and only 10 minutes into the music square and the sea front,also next to the bus stop which was useful. The apartment was well equipped with a good shower and very comfortable bed, everywhere was spotlessly clean and the staff were very friendly and helpful. Pool area was very small but there were sun beds available if we needed one. Breakfast was served on the sun terrace on the roof of block 2, good selection of cold meats,cheese, scrambled eggs and pastries, vegan milk was available but not vegan spread!, other than that breakfast was very good. Music from the roof terrace was not a problem,it wasn't very loud and was finished well before midnight. Overall it was a very good stay, would happily go again 😁
