Knights Inn

I feel that this Ctrip did not write clearly, this hotel is clearly a motel, but nothing is marked, we were dumbfounded when we arrived, the hotel could not see any hotel lobby, and it was directly open on the side of the road. The hotel, the first floor arranged for us, is equivalent to opening the door directly to the side of the road. It is possible for people passing by to pry at your door. The most important thing is that any information of the occupants is not required. How complicated the staff is, of course, there are advantages, the room can cook, the hotel is next to the supermarket, you can buy things to cook, but the advantages and disadvantages are obvious, depending on how you weigh, we can completely live in a four-star hotel, I didn't expect to live in a motel
Empire Apartments

Stayed couple nights here with family and it is the most horrendous place I have ever stayed at and will not be back - If I had booked for more I would be asking for my money back. I could be here all night but to start: Filthy, nothing had been cleaned in quite some time, Lifts are something out of a horror film and extremely dangerous, Unable to use the stairwell at risk of having to pay a $500 fine however the stairs do not join the floors so I do not know how this building has past its building inspection. Listed as family friendly and under hotels/apartments in booking.com but I would be mortified if I had brought my young my children here. In fact I would not even let my dog sleep here. It is basically a student/hostel and also houses some unsavoury people. Very outdated and listed as modern. Pictures in the listing are false and the actual place looks nothing like them. Staff were not at all friendly! The whole place feels unsafe. It is true cheap is not always best! The only positive I can give it, would be location to CBD, sheets were at least clean and the shower had good pressure.
Piha Beachstay Accommodation

Great vibe, great space. A nice oasis that is close enough to walk to piha beaches but is also close enough to walk to several nice hikes inland, including one to the very pretty Kitekite falls. Big kitchen and lounge and lots of outdoor seating and eating space to take advantage of their idyllic private garden. Geoff is a laid back and unobtrusive host but he's right there if you need anything. The tips input box is far too short so I'll include my tip here: Mind if you're driving to Piha from Auckland close to sunset. There's a place about 5-10 minutes East of piha where the road heads directly towards the sun and if the sun is low in the sky, about 1/2 hour before sunset, you come around a corner and can be absolutely blinded due to the low angle of the sun. You can't see anything at all and if you're not expecting it and traveling at speed you must stop dead in your tracks to avoid straying into oncoming traffic or going off the road. And if you're going the other way at this time of day watch for this spot because oncoming traffic could easily veer into your lane with the Sun right in their eyes.
Botany Palms Motel

The hotel has complete facilities, a clean environment, and an excellent location. It is very close to Botony Town Center, a two-minute drive away, and the rent is cost-effective. It is the first choice Motel for family travel and business trips👍

I stayed at the property on the 5th February 2023, in Auckland for work. The checkin process was easy, the room was new, clean and pleasant But at 12.30am i was woken to somebody trying to get into my room. I thought they had the wrong room and would realise but then i heard the lock go and the door started to open which is when i jumped out of bed and stopped the person from coming through. He was standing there with a key in his hand and a bag. He said he thought the room was empty !!! In the morning i looked at the door handle and there was nowhere on the door that a key could be inserted they were opened with a card I reported this to the reception in the morning and told them to check the cameras in the building, the response i got back was not good enough and i was told there was a night porter on. I didn't see a night porter on the property If a guy can access my room in the middle of the night then that means that myself and my belongings were not safe at this property I sent them a follow up email last week and have heard nothing from them
Sylvia Park Motel

Our family of 5 stayed during a 3 night holiday to Auckland, choosing this accommodation as not many can accommodate 3 child families, and also liked the location within close proximity to the mall etc. The layout and space was good but that's pretty much where it ends. It appears that some of the units may have been renovated but our unit was obviously not one of them. The room was rough, with holes in walls purely patched, one electrical socket was even hanging out of the wall. Our bathroom window would not shut probably so we had to ensure lights were off to reduce bug visitors. The place was also grotty, the sink etc needed a good clean, initially I thought the old timber etc might just be stained etc due to age but one wipe of a tissue over the skirting board revealed thick dust. The light fitting in the bathroom was full of dead bugs. About 3 blown bulbs in the unit. The crockery was stained and much of it with chips and cracks. The location and space means with some much needed TLC our unit would be great... but as it stands we wouldn't stay here again as for $235 per night we were terribly disappointed.
