It may be that most of the motorcycles in Athens are modified, and the hotel is located on the main road, so it is quite noisy both during the day and at night. In addition, during the National Day holiday, I feel that it is not as cost-effective as the nearly 3K per night.
The new hotel is so well decorated and facilities are great. The location is at the exit of the omonia subway station and you can see it as soon as you leave the station. Although it is located in the most chaotic area of Athens in legend, the actual experience of the hotel itself is very safe.

Located right in the heart of Athens within walking distance of all attractions, this is a nice and clean hotel with quiet rooms, friendly helpful staff and a very good breakfast. Recommended for short stays.
Stunning hotel in a great location, close to hop on hop off bus stops and other attractions. Roof top is fabulous, great views and comfortable. Breakfast really varied and delicious. Welcome champagne on arrival was a really welcoming touch. I was able to check in early and out late which I really appreciated. Would 100% book this for my next stay in Athens
We were given a welcome drink at the reception, what a surprise! All staff are helpful and polite. We booked a family room for 4 nights. In the last night, unfortunately the air conditioner didn't run. After checking, the night-shift colleague immediately opened two new twin rooms for our family. He has turned our problem into praise. We highly appreciate his work.
The hotel may be an old hotel, but overall it is relatively clean and the service is very friendly. The room is a little bit old, but acceptable, and it is relatively large. Breakfast is simple. The inconvenient traffic around may be a pain point, you need to walk 700 meters to the subway station.
It’s a city centre location; convenient, but loud, messy and dirty on the streets. Hotel is next to police station. Staff nice, BUT: no napkins at breakfast, no small spoon for coffe. You have to ask for them all the time. They have plant based milk, but you have to ask for that too. And at front desk they never said hello or good bye when coming and going. Room: clean, but the airconditioning is a pain in the ass. During the night you freeze, then it stops, then you sweat. So we caught a cold…Room cleaning was randomly done: they gave 1 new towel, didn’t collect the dirty ones and took the towel you step out the shower and didn’t give any new. Breakfast: all right, coffee not so good.
Really perfect location, clean and comfortable rooms, staff speaks perfect English and very helpful, gives a lot of practical tips, would certainly be happy to go back again.
Central hotel, with its own parking, clean room, but needs renovation, in furniture (scratched, knocked) and frames, at least on the 1st floor where we stayed, because the noise from the main street all night is great. Also in the toilet the rim and lid were smaller than the size of the basin and could not stand up. The breakfast compared to the previous many times we have stayed in the last 30 years, was poorer.

Tttb deI had a fantastic stay at the Grecotel Hotel in Athens, Greece. The spacious room was a welcome retreat, providing ample comfort during my visit. The staff's exceptional helpfulness left a lasting impression, as they went above and beyond to ensure my stay was enjoyable. The hotel's cleanliness was impeccable, which added to my peace of mind. One of the highlights was the great breakfast they offered; a delicious and diverse spread that set the perfect tone for the day. Overall, my experience at the Grecotel Hotel was excellent, and I would highly recommend it to anyone visiting Athens.
刘刘Nice hotel, newly opened, had dinner at the hotel, very delicious, the restaurant manager may feel that it is strange to eat only the main course, also sent a little appetizer, and gave the child a macaron
AAnonymous UserThe hotel is in a great location, very close to the subway station, and there are many restaurants and bars around, but it is just quiet in the bustling city. The room is very clean, with everything you need, and good soundproofing. The breakfast is rich, and all kinds of pies are my favorite. The service staff are very warm and friendly. A very satisfying accommodation experience!
GGuest User3 adults soent 2 nights at Arcade Hotel in the terrace suite which was really spacious. The room was very clean as was the bathroom. Beds were comfortable. Breakfast was very good with food being replenished all the time.
All Reception staff were friendly and helpful. As we left early for the airport we were made breakfast to take with us which consisted of plenty of food including some gluten free bread for me as a coeliac.
GGuest UserLocation is at Omonia Square, people wrote so many things about how sketchy the place is. Actually, its not that much of a big deal seeing a homeless or drunk people in the streets and somehow I did not see any. Overall very p/p hotel. Breakfast was good enough too.
MMowenwhyHow should I put it? Before traveling, I saw a personal recommendation on Xiaohongshu and said that the breakfast here is delicious. But I saw some negative comments below, such as the surrounding environment is very bad and there are many bad people. But I couldn't stand the fact that the price/performance ratio was really good, and I also liked the room type, so I decided to give it a try and booked it for two nights. There is an access control as soon as you enter the hotel. You have to ring the doorbell to open the door. The staff at the front desk are very enthusiastic. I arrived at about 11 o'clock in the morning and there was actually a room that I could enter. This is usually only possible at 3 o'clock in the afternoon. Very rare for Athens.
After entering the room, the window can be opened, the bathroom is divided very scientifically, the bedding is clean, and earplugs are thoughtfully provided (although I didn't use them). I went back to the hotel at around five o'clock both nights to watch TV and rest. When you leave the hotel, it is recommended to turn left immediately and walk out of this short alley, which is about ten meters away. It is actually very safe after that. Do not wear sandals when walking in this area, it is safer.
For breakfast, the area is not large, but the restaurant is very cozy, and the room price includes three breakfasts. On average, the price is really cost-effective. Moreover, it only takes a few minutes to walk to the Place de la Concorde and about ten minutes to reach the Constitution Square. It is very close to the attractions. So the location is good.
The staff is also very friendly to the children. When they were waiting for me downstairs, they took the initiative to give them pens and paper to draw, which was very caring. I had to print out urgent documents for personal reasons, and the front desk helped me do it for free. Thank you very much!
In short, if you are a young person, staying in this hotel is very cost-effective. I live here with my two children. I deliberately try to be safe and try to stay on the main roads and avoid alleys. It is actually safe.
The boss also gave me a discount when buying souvenirs, and asked the children to write postcard messages before leaving, leaving a pleasant memory.
KK_tabiThe location was good as it was close to the Parthenon and within walking distance to the nearest station, but the view from the room was so close to the building next door that I couldn't see the night view. That was the only disappointing part. It was great to be able to see the Parthenon and the night view from the rooftop.
The room was clean and I stayed there for two days, and I was happy that they cleaned the room between days.
He also spoke English, so he was kind enough to call me a taxi.
GGuest UserVery clean, close to the station, friendly staff
Unfortunately, the Russians in the next few rooms were making a lot of noise until midnight, walking back and forth from room to room, which made me feel sick. The sound when the door opened and closed was also extremely loud.
Is it unavoidable because the population level is low?
GGuest UserLittle bit out of the way and some of the streets around it aren’t good. Once past those to Omonia Square you are fine. Room spacious and clean. No complaints with it. Happy I stayed there given the price. I was solo male traveller
