2-Star Hotels in Atami

This is a traditional Japanese Ryokan style hotel. All instructions are in English however, means there are foreigners regularly staying here. There is a open air onsen (hot bath) which is very pleasant. Must be reserved in advance. Drinks can be bought at 200 yen a pop. This is a fully unmanned Ryokan meaning it self check in and self checkout ! The rooms are very small (4 meter square) which barely fits a bed. Pictures on the travel sites about the rooms in this hotel are deceiving ! The location is sort of OK from Kinomiya station but it's quite far from Atami city center and Atami sun beach . We took at taxi which was 1200 yen. Kinomiya Jinja is 25 minutes by foot.

Because I decided to come from Tokyo temporarily, it was already night to Atami. Watch the navigation and walk 20 minutes from the train station. Because I didn't bring my luggage, I decided to walk to the hotel. The light along the road is not good, and it is on the mountain. It is not recommended for girls to go alone at night. The room was bigger than expected, it was Japanese tatami and needed to make your own bed. There is no shower in the room, but there is a separate bathroom. Because there is a hot spring to soak, there is no shower. I woke up in the morning and found that I could see the sea in the room, which was really great value. In the morning, I went to the art gallery on the top of the mountain. The hotel has a car to deliver it for free, which is not bad.

The hotel is a little far from the station. The facilities are old but very clean. The door is opened with a key instead of a card, and the key is left at the front desk when leaving. The bathroom was very small and I hit my head. When you check in, you get a free breakfast of two pieces of toast and one cup of coffee per person. There doesn't appear to be a laundry room in the hotel itself, but there is a coin laundry next door that is open late. Smoking rooms have a strong smell of smoke, so it is recommended to choose non-smoking rooms as much as possible. The hotel's WiFi is relatively poor.

The hotel is Japanese-style. The main selling point is the hot spring. There is a hot spring mouth inside. The eggs are boiled there, but unlike the hot spring hotels in Lake Toya and Shodoshima, there is a bathtub in the room. The bathing needs to be on the 3-4th floor. This family feels uncomfortable with the hot spring pool. Fortunately, there was no one when I went to the hot spring pool, but the water in the hot spring pool was too hot. Only one of them could bear it. Basically enough to eat, from JR Atami Station to the hotel located on the hillside is fairly convenient. The hotel mainly caters to Japanese people, but there are no Chinese. You can go downhill along the stream to the beach, and follow the trail uphill for more than ten minutes. It is at Raimiya Shrine and JR Raimiya Station. Because I booked it earlier, the price of a two-person twin room at 1,017 yuan (excluding 150 yen * 2 people) on Thursday night is a bit expensive.

The dishes were good. Because it was a chair life, it was painful for me to stretch my legs in the Japanese room.

A great trip, but unfortunately the time was too short stayed for one night, set a separate room and a main building, the main building was upgraded to a super luxurious suite. There is a great English aunt at the front desk. The communication is very pleasant. The food is the best in Izu. I hope I have the opportunity to stay again next time!
