Darwin Apartments

The service is very good, you can order food at any time, especially good. But the interior of the room is old and does not belong to the configuration of Hilton. And mineral water is not provided, you have to buy it yourself.

My son loves to stay there because of the swimming pool. Unfortunately the pool was closed. So we need to go to Garden Hilton instead. We always enjoy the front desk staff in our previous stays. This time no exception, he was very good. I cannot recall his name though. We have paid for our breakfast with the booking. But when we were in the restaurant, the staff cannot find our room number. We went to front desk, the lady told me we haven't paid for the breakfast. In the end, I have to show her our booking details. In my view, this should be avioded if the hotel had do the job properly. Overall, we enjoyed our stay.

The staff were welcoming and friendly. Dinushka Goonathalake looked after us very well. Having stayed for a conference a previous week we were most appreciative of a lovely room opening onto the park overlooking the bay on our return from adventuring in Arnem Land. Our room was always fresh and light, the bathroom modern. We appreciated access to open air from the small balcony. A good variety of teas was provided. The atmosphere was relaxed, suiting Darwin's tropical feel. Freshly prepared breakfast on the terrace or indoors and excellent coffee available if desired. Easily accessible morning & evening walks in the park along the bay to town and nearby restaurants was an added bonus.

My stay here was marred by the unnecessarily long check in process involving paperwork that could have been done electronically during the booking process - and my ongoing annoyance at being charged an additional $100 security bond at check in. All in the middle of the night, for a prepaid booking. Was assured the $100 would be refunded the next day, but 5 days later it hasn't been. Phoned the reception to enquire and was told by a rude receptionist that it was my banks problem and that they are entitled to charge this fee ”in case I damaged the room”. I haven't ever been charged more than a $1 holding fee before, so am not impressed with this ”management policy”, particularly given the room was prepaid. The actual room was clean and comfortable, a light breakfast is included which is good value. Parking is an additional charge - it would be very difficult to park here with a large 4WD, the spaces are tiny. I'm really disappointed that the management processes seem to be all about not trusting guests and making staying there a complex process...it's actually a nice hotel that is thoughtfully set up for short stay travellers, but I left with a bad feeling and feel sorry for the night reception staff who have to enforce ”policy”. Everywhere these days there are signs up about abuse not being tolerated...being combative towards paying customers isn't helpful.

Absolutely huge and spacious apartments on the edge of the cbd area and an easy walk to pubs and clubs. Supermarket close by also. The rooms were so spacious, and I’d go as far as saying this is some of the best accommodation we have stayed in throughout Australia! Beds were super comfortable, with single beds more of a king single so plently of room for everyone. Bathrooms also huge. Good selection of kitchenware when eating in. The reception staff were amazing, very helpful! Car parking is under the building, but lifts to all rooms and not far to walk. Absolutely highly recommend for anyone staying in Darwin!!

Total of 13 days (twin and family rooms) were both very satisfactory. Comfy beds, good air-conditioning, enough space for all our cases (family of 5) with each room facilities/items as described. The pool is a good size and the use of pool noodles was a bonus! There is a guest laundry (small fee) and free bba. Overall the property is clean, maintained and secure. The location was perfect for my activities and close to shops/pubs and I did utilize the on-site free parking which was very handy (recommend checking availability but they do offer cheap alternatives) ALL staff on site were friendly, knowledgeable, and very happy to help. The minor concern during my stay was handled in a friendly manner and rectified very quickly so I have no complaints. I would definitely recommend this property and stay again!

Excellent location right next to the Darwin International Airport. Good, friendly staff on hand. Late alcohol service is not available. But, they did take me in the golf cart to the bottle shop down the road to get my drinks.... Golf cart operator was nowhere to be found for my early flight, so I had to walk to the airport. Luckily it's not far....

Take a look at the bathroom photos and you will know the level. The cold water pipe woman can't move, otherwise she can only take a hot shower... In addition, the water in the refrigerator at the front desk is not clearly marked, and the two waters are a cola of 13 Australian dollars. VISA also has a 1.5 fee. The debit card can't be spent for a long time. Fortunately, there are coins... Want to cross the hotel back to 50 years ago?
