This is the BEST hostel I’ve stayed in, would honestly stay here over a Hilton. I booked a double private room with breakfast and was upgraded to a family room - despite not needing the extra bed, it was nice to have the extra space and not feeling cramped. The staff were amazing and couldn’t do anymore to assist me in anyway. There was an ample choice of options at breakfast, with the usual stuff found in a continental buffet. I must say the food was delicious! I also dined at the restaurant in the evening which was also delicious and VERY well priced - €12 for a meal and a drink! The room was very spacious, especially as I was a solo traveller. The bathroom was well maintained and the entire room was CLEAN! Along with very comfortable beds and passable pillows (but I am fussy with pillows). The location was perfect! Just 10-15 minutes from Sao Bento and around the corner from the river. I must say I did feel EXTREMELY SAFE both in the hotel and in Porto in general. Why would I stay here over a Hilton? For the price I paid, it was extremely well value and I must say I had a 5* experience here.

Location is really good! I got off the subway station and got to climb some hills, but it was only 5 minutes away. The staff at the hostel was nice and helpful. Although the facilities were mixed for 10 people, the room was really spacious and the bed was very good. 10 people but never crowded. There is a dryer too! I have a locker and give me a locker key. Breakfast is just okay Bread cheese ham juice water coffee It's nice to have a rest outside in the morning. Ah, the Wi-Fi didn't go well in the room. Anyway, it is recommended !!! I'll be here again. And I thought I had a paid winery tour at the hostel, but it felt less organized ..! This is light ...

Pros: I absolutely loved this place. I’ve been to MANY hostels in my life but it was the first one where staff told me when I was leaving: “it was nice meeting you!” They brand themselves as family ran business I don’t know if they are family but definitely you could feel the aura of friendship, kindness and welcoming. The beds are attached to the wall so there is no issue with people going over or under your bed. The place is clean and smells nice. In the reception they also sell some cool sneakers. All was more than great 😊! 5 ⭐️ I’ve booked 1 night initially - I stayed 1 week. Cons: The only thing is missed was kitchen to cook - there is only microwave and kettle to heat up the water. It is not hostel dependent - there are bars and restaurants outside if you’re staying in the room by the main road prepare for very loud Friday / Saturday nights… and I mean reallyyyyyyy loud.

Definitely give it full marks. It's right inside the train station, the view is amazing, and there's a very famous restaurant next door. You can eat just downstairs. The bathroom and shower room are very, very clean, and the hair dryer is from Dyson. The ceiling of the entire building is very high because it is an old building. Everyone is friendly and you can participate in different activities every day. If you are traveling alone and can accept public space, I highly recommend coming here.

The location are good but room and bathroom are dirty. Staff are so so sweety but people who clean it should improve. It seems they dont clean. Price isnt so good, expensive for what they offer and it isnt all beds have curtains.Lot of young people shut the doors at night so suggestion here have cushioning on the doors.

Everyone from the staff, to the other travellers were so welcoming and super. The hostel was always clean, and even had maids who came and made the beds, mopped, cleaned bathrooms etc. I stayed in an 8 bed mixed dorm, had no faults with my stay. Loved the onsite bar, and breakfast also being included. The staff were very welcoming, would highly recommend.

When we arrived we did the paperwork and payment quickly, then we saw the room, we stayed in a room with bunk beds, a double bed, very decent and clean.
Since we were going to do tourism, we asked at the hostel itself for places to see, they very kindly told us where we could go and gave us a map.
That night we also asked where we could go out for drinks and were told several options.
We didn't get to eat anything there, but everything looked very good.

Outstanding
GGuest UserIt was so beautiful and insanely good!
We stayed in a dormitory with a mix of 6 people. The room has a locker with a key, two separate toilets and two showers. The hair dryer is also very good. You can also use the shared kitchen and refrigerator.
The staff was very kind and helpful.
We had a twin private room with shared bathroom. The room was spacious and the shared bathroom was clean and not that busy. The staff are friendly and helpful. The inmates were mostly well versed travellers. Breakfast was included and they also held some optional regular functions like Monday dinner and Friday BBQ. There was a big common room. Inmates had a lot of opportunities to intermingle and exchange travel intelligence. We felt warm and at home. Its location is also central and within walking distance of most of the attractions. One more thing : the chocolate brownie at breakfast was impressive. It was moist and still warm! A must-try!
GGuest UserPerfectly located, charming place to stay, wonderful staff! I stayed here for two nights and was able to arrange airport pickup through messaging through my booking app. Once I arrived I was checked in promptly and had a nice discussion about my plans for Porto. They took the time with me to go over the city map and explain to me the sites that were around and the best lookout points to catch the sunset. I was lucky enough to stay on the top floor, which had a street view. This was so lovely and magical. The location was maybe a block or two from slew of restaurants where live music was happening nightly. Normally street noise would discourage me, but this entertainment was goood. Only minor downfall is there is no elevator - by design, its a protected historic building. Also, since its a historic building if everyone is showering at the same time in the morning the water may or may not stop mid shower only to resume again in a few minutes, It's a quirk to this charming building. You also get cookies in your room and pastries and juice are available for you anytime you want - score!!
GGuest UserWe stayed in a private room with a shared bathroom on the top floor. Pros: Friendly staff, great location, good breakfast, frequent cleaning of the bathroom, surprisingly quiet at night, great value, nice view Cons: Wifi dropped in and out Would have been nice to have a couple of shelves in the room just to help us stay organized
SSamantha PI cannot begin to say enough good things about this hostel. First off, I was in Porto for a little more than 3 weeks and stayed here the whole time. This hostel is incredibly clean with Lucia (owner) and her staff working very hard to keep it this way. The rooms are clean and boast large steel lockers to store valuables and personal items. There is amazing communal spaces, including outdoor patio and garden with plenty of seating. The kitchen is a decent size and is well stocked with the supermarket being only a few blocks down the street. There is a free (basic) breakfast that consists of juice, cereal, fresh buns and jams. This all said, it is the staff that make this hostel extra special. I actually had a few of the staff take me out and share some of their favourite spots with me, which included watching the sunset from the Palacio de Cristal. Overall, I would recommend and would gladly plan a trip back in the future myself.
The treatment I received at this hostel was despicable, unreasonable and hostile. My flight was delayed for 5 hours and whilst in airport I received a very encouraging email from 'so cool' explaining reception closes at 9pm and if I haven't checked in by then I would have to wait to the morning. Having found somewhere else to stay for that night, I turned up at this hostel the next morning, the rigid lady at reception simply wasn't interested or concerned in the least of my predicament and informed me I was a ”no show” and my room was gone for the whole 3 nights I'd booked. I asked for a partial refund for the further 2 nights as I was now having to find somewhere else to stay and would have to pay top price, she was not interested to know this and told me there would be no refund and no room. Whilst I understand policies are policies I think a bit of allowance for unforeseen circumstances wouldn't go amiss. I had no control of my flight being delayed and had I not received the welcome text reminding me of reception opening hours I would have thought twice about contacting them, their communication was confusing and had mixed messages. More unforgivably is the attitude of the manager even when she knew I had nowhere to go and would need the partial refund to secure alternative accomodation, she was not losing any money and had sold my bed twice. I have used *********** for years to book hostels and I have never received such harsh heartless treatment. Whilst I get business is business, there's more to life than a computer database and rigid rules that don't allow for unforeseen circumstances. The rigid lady tried to tell me it was *********** who cancelled me but this was just a lie,. Thankfully the 'hostel Rosalina' saved my bacon and were a fantastic contrast to ”so cool's awful treatment. The receptionist was wonderful and helpful and her friendliness reassured me Porto was not full of heartless money grabbing robots. Avoid this hostel if you're not going to be there for 9pm or you have any chance of a flight delay. .
GGuest UserI've never experienced such a trip around the world in hotels like youth hostels, in the home of the inhabitant or even in a camping area. The hotel was very comfortable and was very comfortable. So when we arrived we had the good surprise of having hair and hair on our hairdraps. Of course, the staff is welcome, but when we saw a bed punishment (See Photo) on one of our mattresses, he did not do the necessary. In fact, he only came to the room to sparke the bed punishe with a special bomb and then took it with a mouchoir and only changed the drape of the bottom. We still stayed in this hostel for the other half of the week and we have not changed bed or room while the punaises are in the matalas and therefore need special intervention. I was surprised to see the hotel's views and I was far from being the only one who found bed punishes.
