Outstanding
We loved our short stay (3 nights) at The Amarillo. This gorgeous B&B stands out from all others in every way. The owners, Jane and Jed are welcoming and full of great ideas, offering their advice on where to visit and eat - all tried and tested by them so they know what they are talking about. Parking available and also free parking on the road. The room we stayed in (room 2) was perfect for our stay - beautifully decorated- and a fabulous shower. The entrance to the B&B is lovely and everywhere was spotless. Breakfast is fantastic. Different items arrived each day, great choice and beautifully presented. The beach is 10 mins walk - easy to get to, down the zig zag, and you arrive at a sandy, clean and happy beach. We would stay at the Amarillo again and genuinely hope to do so. If you are thinking of staying in Bournemouth then The Amarillo should be top of your list. A very huge thank you to Jane and Jed.
AAlice JFirstly this hotel is Fantastic!!! We visited the Chelsea Hotel with our two children. We turned up early and was welcomed by the amazing assistant to Chris. We received our keys and off we went. It was 3 minutes from the train station and bus stops to the Bournemouth pier. We stayed out all day in Bournemouth pier and headed back (home) at 7pm. We stayed in the bottom left room and everything was beautifully set and ready for us extremely clean. Our sleep was fantastic. When we woke up in the morning we headed down for breakfast where we met Chris and his amazing assistant. Nothing was too much trouble our 1 year old was being a typical 1 year old and the lovely lady settled him with a car. (We are very anxious eating as a family) The breakfast was 10/10, our daughter wanted something that wasn’t ok the menu but this easily catered for with no hassle at all. We have told our friends and family about this hotel and after catching our bearings of the area we will be coming coming back via the train and visiting places (Bournemouth pier) via bus (10 mins £2 per adult) next time. Thanks to Chris and his lovely Assistant.
GGuest UserMy girlfriend and I were warmly welcomed on arrival and were shown to our room (No 1) on the first floor which was extremely spacious with a large bathroom and possessed a table where we could sit in the Morning and enjoy the cereals that we had brought with us and on this subject it was a welcome bonus that a fridge was provided. All parts of the property were clean and tidy with the Reception area having an abundance of information regarding local places of interest and the transport options available. The location of the Hotel is only a 5 minute walk to the Beach and has free car parking.
The superior rooms were large, clean, nicely furnished with great views of the 1st tee and 18th green. The bed (2 twins pushed together) was extremely comfortable. Really nice bathroom. Some limited parking just outside the lodge was useful. Every member of staff was friendly, helpful, and polite. They went out of there way to make it a wonderful stay. Nothing was too much trouble. The food in the restaurant was well cooked and good value. We were two couples having a mini break. My husband and our friend both said the golf course was in good condition, challenging and fun. It helped they had great weather. While they were hitting balls around the course, myself and the other lady in the party both had head and back massages from the on site beauty therapist, and it was really relaxing and effective. I would recommend a visit. She was really lovely. Meyrick park is located a short walk to the pier, seafront, shops and restaurants. Although, due to a few steep hills we did get a cab back after a few drinks and dinner on the seafront. This was our first visit and it won't be our last. We will definitely be going back. Highly recommended from our party of 4.
