Nice hotel, great staff, good breakfast. Rooms are very nice with super comfortable beds but when we stayed the weather was good and the room was so hot, no air conditioning and just a small fan provided! We would definitely not stay here in the summer months again. We ate in the restaurant but there seemed to be problems with the kitchen as we waited nearly an hour for starters and another wait for mains. There only seemed to be a handful of tables being used, so no idea what was going on there!

Lovely friendly staff, and it is well presented and in a good location. Didn’t have breakfast as they charged £7.50 for beans or eggs on toast. There is parking provided, if you can get a space as there is not enough parking for the amount of rooms they have. This is my main problem, they have squeezed as many rooms into the building as possible, I understand that with more rooms you can make more money but at over £90 a night, my room is basically a corridor. Single bed and bedside table just about fit in the room, and the en suite is so narrow if I turn sideways my shoulders touch opposite walls at the same time, have to squeeze past the sink to get into the shower, the whole bathroom is barely wide enough to fit the shower tray which also makes using the toilet uncomfortable. Not much that can be done about this now as I know you’re not going to spend tens of thousand losing business to close down and remodel, but the budget rooms are so small I feel they should come with a warning. Literally prison cells are bigger. For comparison, there is s premier inn down the road, king sized bed and the room approx 3 times the size with a sofa worse, armchair and desk, better parking and amenities, and unlimited full English breakfast included, for £8 cheaper a night. I much prefer supporting small local business but I honestly cannot get over how tiny this room is. Think tiny box bedroom on a 3 bed terraced house, then halve it, then try and fit an en-suite in there.

The hotel itself is a little tired but the room we stayed in was spotless we had clean sheets and towels every day room was cleaned every day. Staff were so helpful and friendly, myself and our 7 year old used the pool and games room every day .We only booked for two nights but we’re lucky to book the same room for a extra night .would definitely recommend Laguna Hotel already looking to book up for 2024. Considering it was the school holidays we found Laguna Hotel very reasonable priced, especially considering all the fascilities they have that are included in the price of your stay.

My husband and I wanted o spend one night in Bournemouth on our way back to Cornwall from Hampshire. It is true to say that we booked at this hotel very quickly at the last minute and didn’t do a careful check of reviews before booking. As this hotel is advertised as four star, we didn’t feel concerned about what to expect from past experiences of hotels which boast four stars. There are some good points about this hotel, but it is NOT a four star hotel with the facilities and level of luxury you might expect. In fact, it is advertised as a luxury hotel! I don’t think so! The room (208) was a large, sea facing room with a double bed. It had a small, basic bathroom. The toilet flush kept sticking and the shower was difficult to turn on as the button was stuck. The toilet bowl was badly stained and the bathroom was shabby. The furniture is old and dark. The very old fan was faulty and the hotel couldn’t find us a better one to replace it. The windows couldn’t be opened properly except for two which opened slightly .The bed itself was quite comfy and clean. Biscuits are provided along with one bottle of water. In a four star hotel, one would expect to find a fridge and also air conditioning would be essential! Why provide two robes when there is no space or pool? Spend the money on improving the facilities here and decorate properly to a high standard! Carpets shabby and worn throughout the hotel. Corridors shabby and dark with cardboard boxes strewn all over the place as cleaners worked through the rooms. Parking: We had an e mail on the morning of our visit asking if we would like to reserve a parking space in the car park over the road, which we did for £14. When we got to the hotel, we double parked to unload as space is very limited, then queued for fifteen minutes at the car park to find no spaces left in the allocated spaces. We eventually managed to find a space somewhere else . Chaotic! Breakfast was quite good. I was pleased to find croissants and fresh fruit with yoghurt. The cooked breakfast of scrambled egg was tasty and used real eggs which some hotels don’t. The restaurant / breakfast room was light and airy in contrast to the rest of the hotel. The location is good for the beach, but we should have researched the area as it is so crowded with groups of rowdy teenagers smoking pot everywhere that, for us, it was like hell on earth and we won’t be visiting again.
The superior rooms were large, clean, nicely furnished with great views of the 1st tee and 18th green. The bed (2 twins pushed together) was extremely comfortable. Really nice bathroom. Some limited parking just outside the lodge was useful. Every member of staff was friendly, helpful, and polite. They went out of there way to make it a wonderful stay. Nothing was too much trouble. The food in the restaurant was well cooked and good value. We were two couples having a mini break. My husband and our friend both said the golf course was in good condition, challenging and fun. It helped they had great weather. While they were hitting balls around the course, myself and the other lady in the party both had head and back massages from the on site beauty therapist, and it was really relaxing and effective. I would recommend a visit. She was really lovely. Meyrick park is located a short walk to the pier, seafront, shops and restaurants. Although, due to a few steep hills we did get a cab back after a few drinks and dinner on the seafront. This was our first visit and it won't be our last. We will definitely be going back. Highly recommended from our party of 4.
Arrived at the hotel was greeted by a really lovely guy called Anthony immediately had a good bit of banter with him. Might feel very welcome. Went up to the room as always. We stay here regularly. The room was perfect. Went down for an evening meal. I had salmon my wife had Japanese, curry absolutely perfect noticed this time after previous visits there was a new waiter at the bar his name was Jack. He was lightning and very quick as before we used to wait for our drinks should be given a rise and made manager as he is making your place more money Anthony had such a great sense of humour and also is an asset to your establishment. Maybe so much more pleasurable with these two guys

Nice hotel, not far from the beach. Breakfast was good but was only until 9.30am. Rooms were nice, spacious and clean we had a balcony room with lovely views of the beach, the rooms were quite hot and no A.C which is needed in hot weather. The outdoor pool is heated but no indoor pool for when the weather isn’t good. Staff were helpful and friendly.

We had a 3 night stay here, during some refurbishment of the reception area, this did not impact on our stay, and when we left the area was looking good. We stayed in the Lily suite a lovely choice which looks newly decorated and fitted out to a very high standard, we both particularly liked the bathroom and star lights! We used all of the hotels facilities treating ourselves both to a hot stone massage which was delightful and relaxing. A nice pool with sauna and steam room. We ate in the brasserie on our first night, the food was top class it surprised us that throughout our stay that only a few guests choose to eat here. We had the catch of the day and it was lucky for me that it was Skate a particular favourite the good food was matched by the service, the only thing that did let it down was the state of the table which looked grubby and needs replacing as does many of the wooden tables. Breakfast was buffet style plenty of choice and again very good. The staff throughout the hotel were very good and special mention to the barman who was very friendly and attentive during our stay. Reception could be more welcoming and friendly especially when you are the initial point of contact during your stay and early impressions count. Overall a lovely break and The Connaught is a hotel that I would highly recommend and return to.

GGuest UserWe visited for a family diamond wedding anniversary. The rooms were clean and spacious. The reception area smelt lovely! The reception staff were extremely helpful and polite and leaving a little gift for my in-laws for their anniversary in the room was also a lovely touch!. Breakfast was a little difficult due to extremely limited gluten free options but I managed. I was advised to scan a QR code but it didn’t give you a breakdown for each item just an overview . Would have expected maybe allergens on the signs for the food in the buffet. We stopped in the back of the hotel which had a long corridor with three small stair cases which was awkward for my elderly mother in law. Advice for future travellers contact the hotel in advance if travelling with people who are uneasy on their feet so you can request a room without these staircases. I think an addition of a handrail for each staircase would be a great benefit. The bar staff are excellent and very chatty and friendly, Wonderful views and overall great facilities!

GGuest UserThe breakfast is good, there is a parking lot, and you can take extra beds with children. The hotel is extremely considerate and courteous to its customers. We arrived at the hotel from London Heathrow Airport very late on January 17th. The front desk guy with glasses welcomed us warmly and helped us carry our luggage to the room. We came to participate in a ballroom dancing competition. We originally booked a hotel for 4 days, but the teacher asked us to come 1 day earlier, and we later booked an additional day. After staying for 1 day, we had to change rooms for another 4 days due to room type issues. We didn’t want to deal with the big stuff, but a female manager, the lady leader, was very considerate and helped us move to the next door, which was very convenient. We booked a double bed, but it was new. The room is a single bed room. For our convenience, an extra bed was added. We are very grateful. And in the next few days, she came to ask if our stay was comfortable, she was very warm and thoughtful. I hope to stay in this hotel again when I come to participate in the UK OPEN competition in the future!

GGuest UserStayed 3 nights this hotel is dated the room we had definitely needed a lot of redecorating. But in saying that it seemed clean and was comfortable although they only had very firm pillows. I guess I could of asked for softer but I didn’t. Entertainment was provided an Irish music weekend which we didn’t attend but the hotel was full of guests who did. It sounded ok from our room, but not enough to disturb sleep. Now the food, we ate the dinner on our first night and although I found it ok my other is a vegetarian and the choice was only veg curry which didn’t look that appealing. However for me plenty of food, not the greatest but for a budget hotel they know their customer base and was tasty. A Buffett is provided which included salad, meat and fish. A little pricey and felt as my other half was disappointed not value for money again we didn’t complain as I had enough to eat and really should of read menu first. Breakfast was another thing I felt for a budget hotel was more than ok. A Buffett again of cooked and cereal/porridge. The cooked was good and although you can tell it is all prepared from catering packs no real cooking was done it was very tasty and filling. You can’t ever really do a bad breakfast. We ate in the bar on last night and felt that was value for money. Location was good 30 minutes walk to Bournemouth close to boscombe nice walk through park. Other reviews have mentioned trouble and homeless people staying there, please remember Brittainia Hotels do have a government contract for this but I never noticed or saw any trouble.whilst there. Staff were very friendly the guy in charge of restaurant service was very friendly and helpful. Reception staff were great as were bar and restaurant staff. They put the queens funeral on tv in bar and was watched by about 12 people which was a nice touch good to watch with other people. Swimming pool was ok and the water was warm and clean. Al in all not an outstanding stay but for the price not bad. Would I go again yes but now I know the expectations they do lots of entertainment weekends and they seem to know their clientele and aim their service at that.
GGuest UserOur coach holiday at the Royal Bath in Bournemouth was terrific value for money. The location is excellent with the beach, Bournemouth gardens, and the Pavilion theatre all minutes away on foot. Our rooms were spacious and appeared to have been recently refurbished. There is free wifi in the common areas and kettle and cups, ironing facilities and a fan are provided in the rooms. The common areas are comfortable and the food is self service. We found the staff to be friendly and attentive. The hotel is an old lady and not without it's flaws so if you are used to luxury then you may wish to pay extra money elsewhere for your indulgence. We were looking for a comfortable hotel in a great location and were very happy with our stay at the Royal Bath.

GGuest UserWas really nervous about going here. As I stupidly booked then checked the reviews. When I read the reviews I was horrified. But all my son and myself wanted was somewhere to sleep and shower as we were there for the air show. Managed to get parked easily. Paid and then went back at 4pm to check in. Gentleman who checked us in was very polite and helpful and even got us two fans even though really it’s one per room. Was quite surprised how good the room was really considering all the negative reviews. It was clean, lovely clean white bedding and towels. And a kettle that was spotless inside. Yes it could of done with a little bit of a spruce up but it wasn’t that bad. Lucky we had a room out the front so view wasn’t to bad , but out the back wasn’t nice. Only complaint was fire alarm going of at 3am in the morning for about 20 seconds a couple of times. Then Thursday went of around tea time and this time everyone evacuated only to be told it’s a false alarm. But it was nice to see the staff doing their job a guiding everyone as to where they should go. I would definitely stay here again if I want cheap accommodation near the beach.
If I could have given it 0 I would have! I had the misfortune of staying at this hotel, and I cannot stress enough how awful the experience was. The spa, which cost £15, was absolutely disgusting—run-down, dirty, and clearly neglected. The towel I dropped on the floor came back up black, which says everything about the cleanliness of the place. As if that wasn’t bad enough, the room next door was hosting an adults’ party. There were people coming in and out of the room all night, loud music, shouting, and banging on the walls. It was obvious that sexual activity was going on throughout the night, and this continued until 5 AM! There was absolutely no chance of getting any rest. I’ve never experienced such a terrible hotel in my life. If you’re looking for a relaxing weekend away, DO NOT COME HERE. It’s a complete waste of money. When I complained to the manager about the situation, instead of addressing my concerns, he became confrontational and tried to justify everything that happened. Save yourself the trouble, avoid this place at all costs!
GGuest UserThe staff here are friendly and nothing seems an effort for them, as they make you feel welcome throughout your stay. I was down in Bournemouth for a conference and had the Bon Jovi room. The room is clean, warm, with a good quality carpet and bedding to match. The breakfast is plentiful and of good quality. I shall be back soon, and hopefully ”Livin' on a Prayer” if I bag the Gregg Wallace room next time.

GGuest UserWe hired the function room at this Hotel for our 50th Wedding Anniversary Party and must say it was excellent from the organiser at the Hotel (Lisa Dowdall-Souza) and the rest of the staff who went above and beyond to be helpful especially (Keiron) on reception who doubled as a bar-person in the evening, all in all a very good experience.
HHaohanxingchenzhifuI have lived a few times because of the location.
Stayed for 11 nights this time, the longest time
Room size is small
Breakfast is so-so
Catch up with the elevator maintenance for three months. It takes a lot of effort to carry the big suitcase upstairs.
The room is just above the restaurant, every night the music collapses to 9:30 after, affecting sleep...
Don't eat steak in the hotel, pizza is still ok
GGuest UserStayed couple of nights it was cheaper to park out on main road then what it was to pay hotel for parking, Room a bit on small side with small tv on the wall, didn’t pay extra for breakfast so don’t know what it was like or have time to use the amenities, our room was clean and bathroom was clean would definitely go back to hotel
