It is a hotel with a very good location and very good service from the receptionist. The condition of the hotel is excellent, no complaints. The room is large, the bathroom is clean, the toilet is separated from the shower, there is a small part of the room where the maid works to clean every day. There is an onsen, a fitness room and a restaurant. I recommend it. If you come to stay in Kyoto, you must come to this hotel only. It is really good.

## Location
The hotel boasts an excellent location, just a convenient 10-minute walk from Kyoto Station. They also provide a shuttle bus service, with pickups conveniently located near Hoshino Coffee at the Hachijo Exit.
## Facilities
The highlight for us was that they thoughtfully arranged four beds to accommodate our group. Other facilities were fairly standard; the bedding wasn't particularly comfortable, and there was no laundry service available.
## Cleanliness
Very good.
## Environment
The room itself was quite spacious. Despite being close to the train tracks, the double-glazed windows provided effective soundproofing. As we're not especially sensitive to noise, we didn't find it disruptive and slept very well at night.
## Breakfast
Guests can choose between a French set menu on the 14th floor or a buffet breakfast on the 1st floor. Both options offered a good variety and were generally satisfying. The 14th-floor revolving restaurant also provides panoramic views of Kyoto.
## Service
The staff across all areas – from the lobby and front desk to the restaurants and shuttle bus drivers – were incredibly polite and enthusiastic, which was truly impressive. We particularly appreciated that the front desk had Chinese-speaking staff, making check-in very smooth.
## Overall
All in all, this hotel offers good value for money, and I would recommend it.
We stayed at Urban Hotel Kyoto Shijo Premium for 1 night. The location of the hotel was closed to Gion district and Nishiki market by bus. There is a bus stop outside the hotel where you can catch a bus to Kyoto station. The room was clean but very small in size as we expected. We stayed in a queen queen, and the bed was comfortable. The room was quiet, and the bathroom was clean . There is a public bath in the hotel, which is free to use, but we didn't manage to use it.
First family trip of 4 to Kyoto. Hotel location was right smacked in the middle of the city and the carpark was just beside the hotel. As it was alongside the main road, I asked for a room facing the back alley (which was quieter) and we slept so well. Washing machine services and onsen on the 9th floor which was very helpful for travellers. I highly recommend this hotel and I hope to come back again.

Absolutely thrilled! If you're debating where to stay, definitely pick this hotel!
1. The room is very spacious, new, and impeccably clean. The bathroom features a practical three-way separation (toilet, shower, and vanity are all distinct units), the sofa in the room is both stylish and comfortable, and the overall layout is very well-designed.
2. Takashimaya department store is right downstairs. Just past it, two other streets offer great shopping, and a bit further is Daimaru. Given that this entire area is fantastic for dining and exploring, the fact that it's not directly on the busiest main street is actually a huge plus!
3. The room truly shines with its numerous thoughtful details. While pictures might suggest it's similar to a more affordable hotel, a stay here quickly reveals just how important these comfort-enhancing details are!
Facilities: The facilities were excellent; my wife was so impressed with the bathroom design that she wants to replicate it at home.
Cleanliness: Housekeeping service was superb.
Ambiance: The hotel features its own garden, though it's not very large.
Service: Very good. When my wife needed assistance during her period, they provided it promptly with just one phone call. And when we stained the sheets, they replaced them all immediately.
Natural Hot Spring: Excellent! No photography is allowed inside. The facilities are separate for men and women, with modern soaking pools. Realistically, you'd only soak for about half an hour, and it's free! Personal care products are provided. For several days afterwards, we actually just went to the hot spring to shower because it was so convenient and well-equipped.
Overall, because we extended our stay for another two nights, the additional room we booked wasn't as good as our initial one in terms of size and facilities (it was peak season, and better rooms were unavailable due to our poor initial planning).

We had a lovely stay at Hotel Granvia Kyoto! It's clean, comfortable, and has a warm, welcoming atmosphere. The staff were genuinely friendly and went out of their way to be helpful, which made us feel right at home. Our room was surprisingly spacious—both the bedroom and the bathroom, which was such a pleasant surprise!
One of the best things about this hotel is its unbeatable location—right at Kyoto Station. It made traveling around, especially hopping on the Shinkansen or taking the Japan Rail to explore local spots, incredibly easy and convenient.
Kyoto Station isn't just a transport hub—it’s a vibrant place full of life! With so many shops and restaurants, we found ourselves happily wandering, eating, and browsing for hours. It was the perfect spot to relax and enjoy some leisure time between our adventures. There’s something for everyone, and the atmosphere is so lively—it really added to our Kyoto experience
The only downside was that our room was quite a distance from the elevator, which meant a lot of walking back and forth. It wasn’t a deal-breaker, but next time, we’ll definitely request a room closer to the elevator to save our legs.
Overall, we’d happily stay here again when we return to Kyoto!

The hotel was very near JR Kyoto station maybe about 5 mins walk. Opposite is Don Quitoe which made it easier to buy things. We loved the separation of the toilet and shower area and the shower area is big and comes with deep bathtub. The room is also quite spacious. I can fully open my luggage and still have space to move around. The buffet breakfast is amazing as there are many choices to choose from, especially the beef which is very nice. The hotel also comes with public bath but we didn’t try. Huge lobby and lounge to allow hotel guests to take coffee or tea. There is even a section to collect some amenities like lotion, shaver, bath towel which is a plus point. Definitely recommend this hotel.

Big thank you to Sayako - perfect check in customer service - friendly and warm.
Also thank you to the hotel and team for making it a memorable trip for myself and my parents. They remembered it was my mum’s birthday and prepared swan towels and during lunch prepared a happy birthday message on the dessert (do not have photo on this phone). Really appreciate the thoughtfulness.
And thank you for upgrading my room to better view.
Good:
- Service was exceptional for my stay.
- Location as others have mentioned is one of the best hotels in Kyoto - near the station you get off from Osaka - outside cherry blossom canal - near shopping - brought my suit for friends wedding day before just 5 mins away
- Room size is good and clean - chair was stained but they replaced it when I mentioned it.
- Espresso machine - under appreciated by other hotels but big hit with my dad - very nice touch
- TV had screen casting from phone
Nothing bad to really say just below points for travellers.
- Paid over 10k HKD for 3 nights - to be expected at cherry blossom peak season
- Have to ensure you are above 6F for a good view
- Foot steps above for my particular room (end room 3 beds) was noticeably bad - hotel really needs to fix this
- The shower bath door need to install feature to turn it opaque - 3 beds is usually family and showering is awkward with glass window
- No spa or pool. The amenities in the hotel are lacking.

CCongliuAbsolutely beautiful newly opened hotel, staff are friendly and hope. Amenities needs to be improved, eg, meal exquisiteness, Onsen signage and so on
AAnonymous UserThe hotel design is beautifully thought out, with attention to every small detail. The staffs are friendly and welcoming. Amenities are great, including a gym, a convenient laundry room, and even a peaceful meditation space. We used the self-service laundry facilities, which were easy to operate. The bakery on-site is also a delightful treat!
AAnonymous UserIt's a relatively new hotel, though the entrance is a bit tricky to find, making it easy to accidentally wander into the adjacent building. However, once inside, it's a wonderful surprise – truly impressive! The service is incredibly thoughtful and attentive. It's located just 200-300 meters from Kyoto Station, though navigating *inside* the station to get there can feel like a longer walk. Conveniently situated right next to a theater and Daimaru department store, the surrounding area offers abundant dining and drinking options, and shopping is incredibly easy too. The room was the largest I've ever stayed in throughout Japan, with excellent, modern furnishings and amenities. While not inexpensive, the overall value for money is still fantastic. I would certainly choose to stay here again on my next visit.

GGuest UserThe hotel is brand new and has a wonderful aroma. The service was incredibly attentive, and the rooms were spotless. When my child accidentally suffered a minor scald, they promptly provided ice packs and a cold compress. Overall, our stay was fantastic, and the bedding was extremely comfortable.

DDorit BoxerThis new hotel is so beautiful. The room is big and lovely and beds were very comfortable. The service exceptional. We only stayed 2 nights but would have loved to stay more. The location is amazing . As two women , we walked around easily, even in late hours. There are lots of cafe's and delicious things to eat around us. walking distance to nearly everything like Nishiki Market (錦市場 Nishiki Ichiba). The breakfast is western, with a rich buffet and also a la carte options like toast with avocado and scrambelled eggs , and only one of the options- Asian. I would add healthier options like wholewheat bread, more fruit , cooked vegetables and steamed rice. All in all it was an amzing stay! Can't wait to return , will definitele stay again !!
GGuest UserLocation was great, close to the metro a the Staff were very helpful. The room was lovely, and the beds were comfortable . The lounge area with snacks was a nice touch, we visited it every day 😀. My only issue was that fact that there were no tea/coffee making facilities in the room, and room was a little small for 2 suitcases but would still recommended staying here
