I wrote in my initial booking that this was an Anniversary trip, I was quite surprised that the hotel did not do nor acknowledge such things and that quite bothered me. First impressions do lasts and I also had an incident in their restaurant that serves buffet, where there was a insect (almost cockroach like) in the soup which was honestly very shocking for a 5 star restaurant but the recovery of how they handled was not great and no follow up was done.

Whenever I'm on a business trip to Taichung, I always stay here. I used to stay at the Howard Plaza Hotel next door, but ever since I discovered this place, there's been no looking back.
I love that they have a sauna, and the rooms are spacious, quiet, with a minimalist design, and an open view. The breakfast buffet is also quite good.

Great for family trip. The service of room was satisfying and quite fast. As soon as we enter our room in third floor, we noticed the size of slippers provided was too large. To our surprise, they took care of the problem almost immediately. I will give the service five star. As for the swimming pool, the quality of water is also good enough for children in 6-12 age group. BTW, thanks for the swimming pool service people. They gave us medication for mosquito biting in emergency.

We booked a one-night stay in a SPA-themed room with two double beds. We checked into the hotel at 7:35 PM on July 24th. Upon entering the room, we discovered the toilet wasn't flushing and there was no cold water in the private hot spring bathroom. We immediately notified the front desk, and hotel staff promptly came to fix it. They explained it might have been due to a water supply issue. Since the hot spring bathroom only had scalding hot water and no cold, it was impossible to take a bath. After urgent repairs, both hot and cold water were restored around 11:15 PM. However, by midnight, the toilet started leaking non-stop (it was still leaking when we checked out). Upon waking up in the morning, we were very concerned about a potential electrical hazard. Paying such a high price for a hotel with so many faulty facilities was truly not worth it.
After checking out, the hotel offered us a pudding as an apology. However, this experience was utterly unsatisfactory, leaving a very poor impression of the hotel's facilities and overall quality. We definitely won't be returning.FromNZD 181

Excellent location and friendly hardworking staff. But this is one of the worst hotel I have stayed in. The room has the necedsary furniture but they are run.down. The owner apparently only cares about himself. For an example I have posted a photo of curtain with holes. The bed was firm but ok. The bathroom was actually not bad. Only strange thing was that there was no toilet roll holder. There never was one as there are no holes on the wall either. Housekeeping worked hard but with the state of the room, there's only so much they can do.
The breakfast was strange. If something ran out they are instructed not to refill I guess. Even the coffee machine just gives you a slightly coloured water.
Someone complained about bed bugs in some review, but we had no such problem.

This was our first time staying at this particular hotel, and we booked a quad room. The room was incredibly spacious, and parking was convenient. Since we checked in on a Saturday, we could have reserved the shuttle bus to Fengjia for 30 NTD per person. However, we decided to challenge ourselves to walk there and back. It was a bit of a trek, about 10-15 minutes one way, which was a little far but not unbearable. The breakfast was a buffet, and I especially enjoyed the fresh fruit and vegetable juice machine – that was super fun! Overall, I'd definitely consider staying here again. Before the ***** New Year, we took a trip to Taichung and stayed at a hotel near Feng Chia Night Market. The location is excellent, right at the entrance of the night market and opposite the university's main gate. Everything else was fine, but they charged an extra NT$180 for our 8-year-old for breakfast. We went down at 10:10 AM and there was almost nothing left, so our child ended up just having half a bowl of braised pork rice. That was really expensive! There's a whole row of breakfast places downstairs, so if you're staying here, definitely don't include breakfast. It's not worth it at all; you're better off trying local breakfast spots or the student-favorite queues. Another point is the lack of parking. Additionally, the bed sheets were very pilled, and both the TV and phone in the room were out of order.
When I brought these issues up, I was surprised to be told that the room I was assigned already had known problems and that I could be moved to another one. They did offer a room change, but given it was already well past midnight and I was exhausted, I decided against the hassle. I truly hope they'll pay more attention to these details and conduct thorough room checks in the future.

We took a relaxing trip to celebrate my parents' golden wedding anniversary. We checked in at 3 PM and went to the hot springs shortly after. Around 6 or 7 PM, we got hungry, and there was a decent buffet.
Even though there were many tour groups, the food selection wasn't huge, but it was replenished quickly and the dishes were fresh.
After lunch, we took a short walk, and then there was a wonderful concert at 8:30 PM. This time it was the Sirius Harmonica Ensemble. It was my first time hearing multi-part harmonica music, and their witty introduction was really great. The hour went by quickly, and the grand finale was a stargazing performance. Although the clouds were thick, the moon was still shining, and with the help of the Star Walk 2 app, we didn't get back to our room until 11 PM.
The next day, breakfast at 7 AM was also satisfying.
We went for a walk in the nearby campsite, but unfortunately, the ginkgo and maple trees were still green.
We saw cherry salmon, swans, and enjoyed some shaved ice before heading back down the mountain, completely satisfied.
There wasn't much traffic this time, so going up and down the mountain was smooth, thanks to the good weather.
