What Is the Emirates Transit Hotel Program?

The Emirates transit hotel program is officially called Dubai Connect. It is available to eligible passengers with a long layover at Dubai International Airport who are booked on the shortest available connection.

Dubai Connect may include:

Free hotel accommodation
Meals based on check-in time
Airport and hotel shuttle transfers
A complimentary 48-hour UAE visa for eligible travelers
Assistance from the Dubai Connect team

To qualify, your Dubai layover must normally be between 6 and 26 hours. Economy and Premium Economy passengers must also meet minimum fare requirements.

Dubai Connect is not automatic. Eligibility depends on your ticket, fare, connection time, visa approval, and hotel availability. Request it through Manage Your Booking at least 24 hours before departure. Travelers who need a UAE visa should apply at least 48 hours before arrival.

Who Is Eligible for Emirates Dubai Connect?

First, Business, Premium Economy, and Economy passengers may qualify for Dubai Connect. However, the service is not automatic and remains subject to hotel availability.

Main Eligibility Requirements

Layover: Your Dubai connection must be between 6 and 26 hours.
Shortest connection: You must choose the available itinerary with the shortest transit time in Dubai.
Single ticket: The full journey must be under one booking and issued on an Emirates ticket starting with 176.
Flights: The eligible flights must meet Emirates’ operating and marketing carrier rules.
Passport: Your passport must be valid for at least 180 days.
UAE entry: You must receive permission to enter the UAE.

Emirates and Flydubai Connections

Selected Emirates-marketed, flydubai-operated flights may qualify when:

The flydubai flight operates to or from Terminal 3
At least one part of the journey is operated by Emirates
The itinerary meets the minimum fare requirements

Flydubai flights operating from Terminal 2 do not qualify.

Economy and Premium Economy Fares

For passengers departing from the Far East, including the Philippines, the minimum qualifying fare is:

Age Requirements

Solo travelers must be at least 18 years old. Passengers below 18 may qualify when traveling with an adult, with a maximum of two minors per accompanying adult.

The easiest way to confirm eligibility is through Manage Your Booking. The Dubai Connect option will appear when your booking qualifies.

How to Book the Emirates Transit Hotel

1. Check Your Eligibility

Make sure:

Your Dubai layover is between 6 and 26 hours
You booked the shortest available connection
Your passport has at least 180 days of validity
Your ticket meets Emirates’ flight and fare rules

2. Request Dubai Connect

Visit the Emirates website.
Select Book, then open Dubai Connect under Travel Services.
Scroll down and select Book Dubai Connect online.
Follow the instructions to confirm your hotel.

Submit your request at least 24 hours before your inbound flight to Dubai departs. Rooms are subject to availability.

3. Apply for the UAE Visa

Filipino travelers should submit the required visa documents when the option becomes available. Emirates processes Dubai Connect visas from 14 days until 48 hours before departure.

You may also request Dubai Connect through an Emirates office or the travel agent that issued your ticket. Save offline copies of your hotel voucher, visa, ticket, and booking details.

Filipino passport holders generally need an approved UAE visa to clear immigration and use a Dubai Connect hotel outside the airport.

The bedding was super comfortable, and the location is excellent, just about a 10-minute walk to the Burj Khalifa. All the staff were very friendly and welcoming. Now for the negatives: The shower pressure was a bit weak, and the handheld showerhead didn't have different spray settings. Also, disposable toothbrushes and toothpaste were not provided.

Our flight was changed during our layover in Dubai, causing us to arrive at 6 AM. Luckily, I had booked the early check-in option at SLS. VISPIN at the front desk, along with an Asian lady, kindly helped us arrange an even earlier check-in than planned so we could rest. Our connecting flight was also delayed by several hours, so it was a blessing that we chose this hotel. You can see the Dubai skyline from here (though the weather wasn't great the day we arrived, and there's a building under construction next door), but that doesn't detract from the advantage of being on a high floor. In the afternoon, we took advantage of the sunset to explore the city, and then went back for a bath 🛁 in the evening. All the fatigue from our layover melted away. It was a wonderful short stay, and next time I'd love to come back to Dubai for a proper visit! 👍🏻

If you want to walk to Dubai Mall, Burj Khalifa, fountain Show… it takes about 10-15 minutes depending on traffic lights, but easy.

The showerhead in the bathroom was leaking; when I used the hand-held shower, cold water kept dripping from the overhead shower, which was very uncomfortable. 2. The hygiene was poor. Upon checking in, I surprisingly found a pile of insect carcasses in the bathtub and some unidentified hairs on the bed. After I reported it, the housekeeping staff promptly came to clean. For the rest of my stay, they paid special attention to cleaning the bathroom, and I didn't see any more insects. 3. The hotel breakfast was very disappointing, with almost no Asian food options. I had to fill up on bread. The variety of fruits was also limited. 4. The hotel is quite far from the commercial district, and there are no shopping or dining options nearby, which is inconvenient. The only upside is its proximity to the airport.

Excellent, huge suite with a cozy sofa and dining table in the living room. It also has a balcony, which is quite rare in Dubai, and a very good, draft-free air conditioner. There are quite a few Russian-speaking staff at the reception (though not on every shift); it doesn't matter to me with my English, but it's definitely important for some. Of course, there are some downsides – a sagging door that doesn't close on its own (but that's partly a plus as it helps with forgotten cards in the room). In an apartment-style setup like this, it would be logical to have something to heat food – at least a simple microwave and a sink in the kitchenette. Oh, and besides the shower cabin (for a quick shower), there's also a full bathtub (to relax after a long day). That's a super combination. Overall, I'll keep this place in mind for the future. The price, with Tripcoins, was an absolute steal, but even without them, it's still very good.

Excellent location if you want to be close to the metro, Dubai Mall, and Museum of the Future, all within walking distance. There's a supermarket in the underground mall across the street (not under the hotel). Fantastic views from the nearly floor-to-ceiling windows with wide stone sills. The rooftop offers postcard-perfect views of the Burj Khalifa and Sheikh Zayed Road. The rooms have a large fridge with a freezer in the kitchen; ours wasn't working, and they immediately brought a new one. There's an Indian restaurant and a club on the upper floors of the hotel. The breakfast in the restaurant is decent, you won't go hungry, and the staff is helpful. Outdoor parking is available. They don't provide transportation to the beach. In the lobby, there's a work area with a printer you can connect to yourself. It's a great option for a 1-4 day stay.

We stayed at Sofitel Dubai Downtown for five nights and, as regular guests, it always feels nice to return and be welcomed by familiar faces. We were given Room 2702, which was comfortable and well maintained throughout our stay. Housekeeping did a good job, and we really could not find any faults with the hotel in terms of the room or cleanliness. The service throughout the hotel was excellent. A special mention goes to Claire who was incredibly friendly and warm. She always made an effort to have a conversation with us, which added a lovely personal touch to our stay. We would also like to thank Chef Amr from the restaurant, as well as Mustafa and Santosh from the concierge team, for their excellent service. They were all friendly, helpful and attentive throughout our stay. Since we are regular guests, it was always nice that many of the staff recognise us and make us feel welcome. This personal touch is one of the reasons we continue to return to Sofitel Dubai Downtown. The friendly service, familiar faces and warm hospitality continue to make Sofitel Dubai Downtown one of our preferred hotels whenever we visit Dubai. One point that can be improved is the valet parking. Service was quite slow but this is understandable as they mentioned that they have limited staffs.

I just booked it because it was a known brand. unfortunately on arrival the room was in a state. It was very dusty and dirty very dated and just not nice at all. The room was not cheap costing nearly $170 plus so I expected a cleaner room it was 1 o’clock in the morning when I arrived and I was just so tired that I didn’t want to kick up a fuss so I just stayed the night and left in the morning had it been during the day I would’ve insisted on a refund and changed hotels. This is my true experience with this hotel on may not reflect the same for other travellers.

The check-in experience was very pleasant and quick. Enor and Harsh were friendly and professional. We were given a high floor as requested and upgraded to a double bed without being asked. The room had a good view of the city and had everything one needs and expects from a hotel when on holiday. Breakfast had a huge spread. More asian and salad options would be great. There were some healthy choices, skimmed milk and Indian masala tea too. The hotel looks good from the outside with 26 floors, a clean swimming pool, a gym and an elevator that gives you a view through glass. It had an event for NYE too. We saw a lot of people partaking in it. It is an easy walk to Dubai Mall and the Burj. There are 2 convenience stores nearby, a cafe inside and easy to get taxis (Bolt, Careem, Uber). Jabed who cleaned our room well was cordial and professional and checked on our needs. Overall, we had a great stay, better than expected after reading older reviews. The staff that work here are friendly and want to help, including the breakfast staff. I left some minor written suggestions with the lady at the desk when we checked out at noon on Thursday. I love the Millennium brand hotels and Millennium Central Downtown can go from great to extraordinary! I would definitely recommend it to friends and family. Veronica

The hotel's location is great, right in Dubai's new city center, with excellent amenities nearby and not far from the metro station. Upon arrival, they proactively helped with luggage, and check-in was smooth. All the hotel staff were very polite. The restaurant has a nice ambiance and a good variety of food. The rooms are spacious and bright. The only thing was that the balcony door was locked, which they said was for safety reasons. I later asked the front desk to unlock it for me, but I had to sign an agreement. Overall, I'm satisfied. The only regret is that this trip to the UAE coincided with the conflict between the US, Israel, and Iran, and neighboring countries were all somewhat affected. I hope peace returns to the Middle East soon.

I thoroughly enjoyed my 8-night stay at this lovely hotel.The housekeeping, front desk, concierge and restaurant staff are very professional and responsive, kudos to them. Room is very new and clean, big enough for a family of 4 to 5. Breakfast is simple and lack varieties, during my 8 nights they served the same food everyday, and mostly veggies options. Coffee is good though. My only comment is the lift waiting time. It needs an upgrade to cope with high occupancy rate. And the outside windows from the room, it needs to be cleaned. Its all covered with dust that I couldn't see clearly the outside view from my windows. Location is very convenient. Less than 2-min walking to the metro station. 1 stop to Dubai Mall and Burj Khalifa. Carrefour is about 10-min walk, and there is a very nice restaurant called Sansation DIFC, about 10-min walk from the hotel that serves very good Mediterranean food at a reasonable price.

Near to metro (take Exit 2) to reach the hotel.plus point is small gate to get in without walking big round to get the hotel (need the room card to access). Staff all are very helpful and kind. Really appreciate the early check in especially we reached early and very much needed the rest before start exploring the country. Nearby got lots of small market which sell reasonable souvenirs (chocolate, dates and local food). There is this Pakistan eatery sell goods and nice Prata and curry. My husband and I really enjoy the foods and price is clearly state on the menu, portions also big. Almost went there to have the foods during our stay. 😄😄😄. Oh~ they also have free shuttle bus to several tourist locations which is plus point as well. Too bad we dont have time to explore this. Swimming pool with city view and they also have steam & sauna room. 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻overall I really enjoy my stay here.

The hotel is quite old and definitely needs some renovation. Unfortunately, the swimming pool was under maintenance during our stay, so we didn’t get the chance to swim or enjoy the beautiful city view, which was one of the reasons we chose this hotel. The bathroom also needs improvement the shower knob was broken and didn’t work properly, making it inconvenient to use. On the positive side, the hotel staff upgraded our room from a Deluxe Room to a Suite, which we really appreciated. The food was also a highlight of our stay, with a great variety of delicious dishes to choose from. While we were grateful for the room upgrade and enjoyed the dining experience, the hotel’s aging facilities and maintenance issues affected our overall experience.

Our stay at Address Skyview was the perfect end to our holiday. The location was prime. We particularly appreciated the cross bridge to Dubai mall during the daytime heat and readily accessible taxis for other outings. The rooms were immaculately cleaned daily. Our room offered undisturbed views of the Burj Khalifa which is such a spectacle everytime you look out. We LOVED the infinity pool on the 54th floor - Absolutely breath taking views of the city with a nice chill vibe to relax. Most importantly, the staff were wonderful! The location is super convenient, close to the MRT and directly connected to a mall. A couple of small issues: the room was a bit dusty at first, and I wasn’t informed about the ongoing renovations. The drilling noise was quite disruptive when I was trying to rest. Overall still a very pleasant stay!

The house keeping woke us up at 8am to ask for house keeping. We forgot to turn on do not disturb. My biggest mistake. But we stay in so many diff hotels before. No house keeping ever knock the door that earlier. Given that we checked in aft 11pm the night before. Also no refill for toilet amenities at all. They throw away my shower hat and not refill anything inside bathroom that I hv been used. It just too late to order them fr house keeping since I already took off all clothes and start shower. I drank up the coffee supply and no refill for capsule for the second day. Not satisfied with the price I paid for this hotel. It should be better experience than this. House keeping ppl need to be trained up to make the basic standards
