Swissôtel Al Murooj is a beautiful hotel with a stunning backdrop of the Dubai skyline. We enjoyed strolling around the area in the evening. It was peaceful, quiet, and felt very safe. The pool area is one of the highlights of the hotel. It’s clean, beautifully designed with waterfalls, and incredibly Instagram-worthy. A tip for anyone staying here: if you want an amazing top-view photo of the pool, take it from the elevator window. The view is absolutely stunning! The staff were generally helpful, especially Yaseer, Elsayed, Sandeep and the lady at the breakfast reception. I’d like to give special recognition to Yaseer, who consistently greeted every guest with genuine warmth and kindness. His excellent hospitality really stood out and made our stay even more enjoyable. While most of the staff were pleasant, a few could be a bit more welcoming with a smile, as small gestures like that can make guests feel even more at home. Our room was very spacious, comfortable, and filled with beautiful natural sunlight in the morning, making it a wonderful place to relax. Overall, we had a great stay and would happily recommend Swissôtel Al Murooj to anyone looking for a comfortable hotel in a peaceful location with excellent facilities and warm hospitality.

Overall, my stay was quite average and didn't really meet my expectations for a JW Marriott (five-star) hotel. I had booked a sea-view room, but upon check-in, I was informed that the building housing the sea-view rooms was temporarily closed, so I couldn't get the room type I had originally booked. The hotel assigned me to another building, stating it offered the best available view. However, the actual view was significantly different from the sea view shown on the booking page. What was particularly disappointing was that there was no prior notification, nor was any compensation or upgrade offered throughout the process. During my stay, I called the front desk to inquire about a late check-out. The first call was disconnected almost immediately after being answered—I'm not sure if it was an accidental hang-up or another reason—and I only managed to communicate successfully after calling a second time. Additionally, I noticed some red marks on my leg, possibly insect bites, during my stay. While I can't definitively link it to the hotel, I'd still recommend that the hotel enhance its pest control measures in the rooms. As for breakfast, the overall quality was decent, but the variety was quite ordinary, and there's definitely room for improvement compared to other five-star hotels of the same caliber. During this Dubai trip, I also stayed at The St. Regis and Kempinski Hotel Mall of the Emirates. In comparison, this hotel has room for improvement in terms of service details, overall stay experience, and honoring booked room types. I hope the hotel can further enhance its service quality in the future.

Had a great stay at SLS Dubai. The Signature Room with the balcony was fantastic—spacious, modern, and offered an incredible panoramic view of the Dubai skyline. The rooftop pool area is easily one of the best highlights of the property, with an amazing atmosphere and views. Breakfast had a wide variety of delicious options, and the overall cleanliness was top-notch. The only minor downside is that the elevators can get a bit slow during peak hours due to the sheer height of the building, but the staff was efficient and friendly enough to make up for it. Definitely a solid luxury experience!

This hotel not far from Al Nasr sport hall. 10 minutes walk. We had competition there. That’s why we chose this location. Airport Dubai also not so far. Hotel is old, many rooms have smell. First we got room with broken AC, it was like sauna. Good that they gave us another room, we had choice between 3 rooms(only one of them was without bad smell). Bed was very comfortable. I especially liked the down pillows and blankets There was a lot of Indian food at breakfast. We stayed 5 nights and 2 times we had indigestion, after we stopped eating this food, we ate only tea with cake. In general it wasn’t so bad and staff was friendly and helpful but I don’t think that I will come back to this hotel.

Check in was smooth and was attended by Rash. She was courteous and helpful in getting the room. Was given a room on a higher floor facing partial Dubai frame. The soap etc is very poor quality and bed sheets not white, something not expected of such hotel. Bikash at concierge was rude and I feel need training on customer relations. Gave him the card and instead of handing back, he just placed on the table. Valet parking was also slow and disorganised. Imagine waiting 30 mins just for them to pick up the car. I don't see this in Sofitel Downtown or the JW Marriot. Location is ok but there are definitely other better hotels around the area. Other facilities such as steam room and pool area are quite old.

① Location: The hotel is right by the metro exit, making it easy to find. (There are two exits on one side; one leads to the second floor, requiring a short walk, while the other opens directly onto the hotel's side entrance on the ground floor.) There's a free government-run bus service outside the hotel to Yas Island/Louvre, which you can board with a ticket. Currently, it runs once a day. ② Room facilities: Quite old, feels like it hasn't been well-maintained since it was built a long time ago. There are many guests, usually families, and the elevators are insufficient. You often have to wait a long time (there are elevators on two sides, and the one for long-term guests on higher floors can go down). ③ Other: A 500 AED cash deposit is required upon check-in. Before getting your deposit back, you'll need to allow 10 minutes for a room inspection. I recommend taking photos at check-in to document the room's condition. The hotel offers a shuttle bus to attractions, but it needs to be booked a day in advance on a first-come, first-served basis. I originally booked this hotel for its convenient location to catch the free bus to Abu Dhabi, but it's really quite dated. If you're considering it for the same reason, I'd suggest looking at other hotels nearby, as there are plenty of options within walking distance.

We decided to stay for the Eid break considering the brand name and waterpark feature. Our stay started out being informed that there was no Valet service at this five star hotel and further, we would be responsible for carrying and transporting our 4 large suitcases. Concierge could clearly see it was just myself, wife and two small children. It was chaos at the check in and it was only due to one kind manager that we received any help. The waterpark is great and the hotel, despite having a more traditional finish, led to a positive stay.

Maria kindly gave me late check out and Genelyn was a lot of fun. She organized a driver for me to look around Dubai. The room size was good and the pillows allowed for a comfortable sleep. On the other hand, my room looked a little unclean. There was water on the carpet. I only found out after standing on it and getting wet socks. Parts of the room looked a little old and used. Although it's not on Palm Jumeirah but on another island, this hotel is truly outstanding. For a family stay, the value for money is far superior to hotels on Palm Jumeirah or in the city center. Out of the three hotels we've stayed at in Dubai, this one is definitely the best. It's on an island that's still under development, but the location isn't far and is very convenient. The hotel rooms are spacious and clean, with unbeatable sea views. There are numerous swimming pools and water attractions, so many that you can't possibly try them all. The check-in experience was very pleasant and quick. Enor and Harsh were friendly and professional. We were given a high floor as requested and upgraded to a double bed without being asked. The room had a good view of the city and had everything one needs and expects from a hotel when on holiday. Breakfast had a huge spread. More asian and salad options would be great. There were some healthy choices, skimmed milk and Indian masala tea too. The hotel looks good from the outside with 26 floors, a clean swimming pool, a gym and an elevator that gives you a view through glass. It had an event for NYE too. We saw a lot of people partaking in it. It is an easy walk to Dubai Mall and the Burj. There are 2 convenience stores nearby, a cafe inside and easy to get taxis (Bolt, Careem, Uber). Jabed who cleaned our room well was cordial and professional and checked on our needs. Overall, we had a great stay, better than expected after reading older reviews. The staff that work here are friendly and want to help, including the breakfast staff. I left some minor written suggestions with the lady at the desk when we checked out at noon on Thursday. I love the Millennium brand hotels and Millennium Central Downtown can go from great to extraordinary! I would definitely recommend it to friends and family. Veronica

We stayed at Fairmont The Palm for part of our honeymoon, and it was such an amazing and relaxing experience. From the moment we arrived, the service was warm, attentive, and genuinely caring. The team made us feel so special, and we were surprised with a romantic setup in our room — a beautiful touch that made our stay even more memorable. The rooms are a little outdated in comparison to other hotels in the Accor group. Otherwise, great hotel and lovely buffets!! ✈️☀️🌴🇦🇪

Late check-out until 3 PM (subject to availability): The room was great, I got a free upgrade, and the service was excellent. Breakfast was also very generous. My only minor complaint is that there's no free shuttle to the airport, otherwise everything was perfect.

Palm Jumeirah Dubai|17.52km from city center
This is a massive resort, located at the very tip of the Palm Jumeirah. The architecture is grand, stately, and very well-designed. There are pools, a beach, a water park, various activities like ping pong and a golf practice range, and an abundance of facilities for children. Our room was a high-floor, sea-view room, and standing by the window, the view outside was simply breathtaking. Even though the resort has been operating for 18 years, it's incredibly well-maintained. Despite the large number of guests, especially children, everything runs smoothly and is very well-managed. All the glass doors and windows are immaculately clean, not a single fingerprint, because staff are constantly wiping them down. We discreetly counted several swimming pools, and one of them alone had eight lifeguards on duty. There's a great variety of dining options, including Michelin three-star and one-star restaurants, as well as two buffets. Breakfast was generally good. A special shout-out to our dinner at the Michelin one-star Hakkasan – the food was delicious, the quality was excellent, and the ambiance was very elegant and upscale. Next door, the new Atlantis The Royal has opened, and guests staying here can take a shuttle to visit it. The staff are all incredibly proactive, enthusiastic, and super patient. They always make sure to diligently complete whatever you ask of them before moving on.

Barsha Heights Dubai|15.72km from city center
I stayed at this express hotel in Dubai for a business trip, and it exceeded my expectations—it truly offers incredible value for money! As a business traveler, my priorities are transportation, efficiency, convenience, and cleanliness, and this hotel perfectly met all of them. The hotel's location is excellent, right next to Dubai's business district. It's very convenient for taking a taxi to exhibitions or office locations, and the surrounding amenities are complete, with plenty of casual dining options and convenience stores. The front desk service was efficient and professional. Check-in and check-out were super fast, English communication was smooth, and the staff were friendly and attentive, responding promptly to any requests. The guest rooms are in a standard business minimalist style. While not overly spacious, the layout is practical, with a wide and functional desk. The bedding was clean and soft, and the soundproofing was good, allowing for a quiet rest after a long day. Room hygiene was impeccable; the bathroom was dry and tidy, with powerful hot water and good water pressure. The free Wi-Fi was stable and fast, perfectly meeting the needs for online meetings and work. Breakfast was a Western-style buffet, with a rich variety and consistent quality, perfect for a quick energy boost to start the workday. The hotel also offers essential business facilities like a 24-hour front desk, free parking, and simple laundry services, showing thoughtful attention to detail. To find such a hassle-free, comfortable, and high-value express hotel in Dubai is incredibly business-friendly. I will definitely choose this hotel again for my next business trip to Dubai!

This was our third time staying here. Overall, we like the hotel, but we were very disappointed with the water situation during this stay. We informed the staff that there was no cold water available. Considering how hot the weather is in Dubai, guests should at least be able to take a cool shower. Unfortunately, even with the cold tap turned on, the water was extremely hot, almost like boiling water. After spending time outside in the heat, being unable to take a proper cold shower was very uncomfortable. We hope the hotel can address this issue, as it significantly affected our stay.

The hotel is clean and the staff are wonderful. You'll need to use taxis for sightseeing. While you can walk to the Dubai Fountain and metro station in about 20 minutes, walking outside in the Dubai heat is tiring. A taxi to the station costs the minimum fare of 12 AED. Aside from that, it's a fantastic hotel.

Downtown Dubai Dubai|1.34km from city center
I stayed at the Ramada by Wyndham Downtown Dubai for 2 nights from 3–5 June. There was a small issue with my booking at the start, which came from my booking agent and not the hotel. While it took some time to resolve, the hotel kindly offered a drinks voucher at the Level 2 restaurant during the wait, which was a thoughtful gesture. The front desk staff were very friendly, especially Rubab, who was kind, accommodating, and supportive throughout my stay. I also truly appreciated the complimentary upgrade from a Premium King Studio to a One-Bedroom Premium King with a fountain and Burj Khalifa view. The room is spacious with an amazing view — I couldn’t ask for more and honestly didn’t feel like leaving it, haha. The hotel is in a great location, about a 10–15 minute walk to both Dubai Mall and Souk Al Bahar. Overall, the hospitality was excellent and made my stay very comfortable. I would happily return.

The hotel has very friendly staff at the reception, housekeeping and restaurant.. the room is spacious and clean however, in the bathroom the bathroom had a few cracks on it .. other wise it was a pleasant stay.. Breakfast spread was an okay okay types because most of the food was cold example , the pancakes, French toast. The breads and muffin seemed to be stale as they were very hard and dint look very pleasing. Otherwise it was a comfortable and relaxing stay !

Sheikh Zayed / DIFC Dubai|1.15km from city center
The hotel's location is great, right in Dubai's new city center, with excellent amenities nearby and not far from the metro station. Upon arrival, they proactively helped with luggage, and check-in was smooth. All the hotel staff were very polite. The restaurant has a nice ambiance and a good variety of food. The rooms are spacious and bright. The only thing was that the balcony door was locked, which they said was for safety reasons. I later asked the front desk to unlock it for me, but I had to sign an agreement. Overall, I'm satisfied. The only regret is that this trip to the UAE coincided with the conflict between the US, Israel, and Iran, and neighboring countries were all somewhat affected. I hope peace returns to the Middle East soon.

It's just average. Customer service was good but they can do better in room cleanliness. Atleast change bedsheets n towels after 2 days maximum. They should consider other people while doing the music at the bar. Closing the pool at 6pm doesn't favor those who were busy during the day. Extend time till 8pm.

World Trade Centre DIFC Dubai|0.69km from city center
I had a wonderful stay at Residence Inn by Marriott and would highly recommend this hotel. Though I booked a deluxe king room on the 2nd-5th floor, I was pleasantly surprised with an upgrade to a spacious deluxe room on the 30th floor with two twin beds, as well as complimentary late check-out. The room was well-equipped with a kitchenette, washing machine, and a standing shower. The staff, from the reception, housekeeping to restaurant teams, were incredibly warm and attentive. The only downsides were the slow lifts (only 3 out of 5 were working during my stay) and the really cold temperature of the room despite adjusting the air-conditioning (possibly due to a central system). While I didn’t have breakfast at the hotel, the hotel offers several dining options, including a restaurant on the 43rd floor, as well as a cafe and Starbucks on the ground floor. There is a small convenience store on-site, and a larger supermarket just a few minutes' walk away. The location is excellent - only a 4-minute walk to the Financial Centre metro station, and easy access to Ubers for exploring the city.

Really enjoyed my stay here. The hotel itself is nice, but the staff are what made it fantastic—they were so helpful the whole time. The amenities are standard but everything was clean and in good order. The location worked well for me: you're sort of between the Marina and downtown. Each is about a 20-minute taxi ride away, which I preferred over figuring out the metro. A real highlight is the restaurant's terrace off the lobby—a perfect spot for morning coffee or an evening drink.

Dubai Connect vs. Booking Your Own Hotel

Emirates

Dubai Connect is useful, but it may not be suitable for every traveler.

Choose Dubai Connect If:

  • Your Emirates itinerary qualifies
  • Your connection is between 6 and 26 hours
  • You want to save money on accommodation
  • You only need a place to sleep, eat, and shower
  • You do not mind which hotel Emirates assigns
  • You are comfortable using the scheduled coach transfer
  • Your UAE entry visa is approved

Book Your Own Hotel If:

  • Your booking does not qualify
  • Dubai Connect rooms are unavailable
  • You want to choose a specific hotel
  • You prefer a particular room type or location
  • You want more flexibility with check-in and transport
  • You plan to explore Dubai during the layover
  • Your connection is longer than the Dubai Connect limit

Remember that booking your own hotel does not remove UAE visa requirements. You still need permission to enter the country.

Pro Tip: Stay connected during your trip with an eSIM. Explore available plans and choose the best option for your journey.

Tips for Using the Emirates Transit Hotel

  • Choose the shortest connection: A deliberately longer layover may make your booking ineligible.
  • Check before paying: Look for Dubai Connect in Manage Your Booking before assuming the hotel is included.
  • Request the service early: Book at least 24 hours before the incoming flight to Dubai.
  • Prepare your visa documents: Visa processing should be completed at least 48 hours before arrival.
  • Check passport validity: Your passport should have at least 6 months remaining.
  • Pack a transit kit: Your checked baggage may go directly to the final destination.
  • Save screenshots: Keep copies of the voucher, visa, booking reference, and flight details.
  • Bring a payment card: The hotel may request one for personal expenses.
  • Confirm the return coach: Ask the hotel what time you need to leave for the airport.
  • Allow enough airport time: You still need to complete security, immigration, and boarding procedures.
  • Have a backup plan: Visa approval, hotel rooms, and Dubai Connect confirmation are not guaranteed.
