Meriton Suites Broadbeach
4.5/585 Reviews
On our trip to Gold Coast we booked our accommodation with Meriton a studio apartment. Upon arrival and check in we got upgraded to a 1 bedroom apartment no charge, and couldn’t be happier , as their service was a friendly, fast, and professional. Our 1 bedroom apartment is amazing, featuring queen bed with t.v in room , spacious living area , kitchen, laundry and balcony with a beautiful view of the beach . The location convenience, being across the road from the casino and pacific fair , and Goya cafe downstairs for a close by breakfast before heading on your day of adventure. We’ll most definitely be checking in to Meriton in near future.
Salt Yeppoon

This was our second stay at Salt, last year in Apt 203 and this year in Apt 207 so at this stage I'll review both. Apt 203 was at the western end of the building and the view was basically across a public carpark with just glimpses of the water through the trees. We wanted to be in an apt which would give us a better view of the water which is what we hoping for when we rented the more expensive spa apartment. It turned out that 207 while definitely being closer to the water and having a much better layout had pretty much the same view as 203. All that being said, Salt is in a great location with plenty of places to eat right on the doorstep and is just a walk across the road to the beachfront. All the staff we spoke with were very pleasant and helpful. So to the layout of apartment 207 which included a very spacious balcony. to the amount of cupboard space in the bedroom. There was also plenty of cupboard space in the kitchen area. access to loads of apps on the TV to good internet access to the location of the building to Jolt Cafe on the ground floor ... great coffee & cakes to the staff to onsite parking ... but the 'security' door was open 24/7 to the onsite swimming pools to being close to the fabulous Yeppoon pool But to the bathroom in 207 where the shower over the spa bath was absolutely hopeless as there was no way of keeping all the water within the bath, thereby resulting in constant flooding of the bathroom floor. to the spa bath itself, the surround of which was just grotty with mould, cracks and discoloured grout. In our opinion, this bath should be removed and replaced with a walk-in shower. to the grubby carpets and the lounge that needed a good clean. to the living room air conditioner which leaked water through the cupboard beneath and onto the bench. We didn't need to use the air-con in the bedroom. the webbing on the outdoor chairs was in fairly poor condition with numerous holes to the clothes airer which had broken wires there were no instructions on how to use the ceramic cooktop to the layout of Apt 203 which had no door between the bedroom and bathroom & toilet, and very strangely also included the very spacious cupboards which should have had the doors on the bedroom side!! We'll probably try Salt once more next year now that we know that apartments 307 & 407 have walk-in showers and hopefully, being on higher levels, should have a better view over the trees to the water.

I stayed a week in apartment 32 on level 10, overlooking the beach with an uninterrupted view of the ocean. To say the outlook is spectacular seems like an understatement, and if you like the sound of the surf this is defiantly the place for you. The location is excellent. A short, flat walk to shops, restaurants, cafés, and bars. Less than a 10 min walk to supermarkets, shopping precincts and night clubs. It is only a 5-minute walk to the Surfers Paradise night markets held every Wednesday, Friday and Saturday nights. The staff are friendly, welcoming, and polite. I had a small issue with the receipt and found the front desk staff approachable, the issue was resolved on the spot. The list below is lengthy, and it may seem that I’m running the place down, but I’m a details person. I would happily stay again, details provided may help you prepare for your stay. The bed was comfortable though a little on the firm side for my liking. Overall, I found the room was very clean, but was disappointed to find the previous guest had left an obviously unwashed bowl in the cupboard. The kitchen is very small and lacks counterspace, I used the dining table for meal prep. No dishwasher but washing up liquid and a tea towel is provided. Supplied amenities were minimal, while there were a few satchels of tea and coffee no milk was provided. The soap and shampoo supplied were single use. The lounge and dining room are serviced by a split system air conditioner that is very quiet and cools efficiently. There is no air conditioner in the bedroom. Water pressure isn’t great but sufficient. I was pleasantly surprised to find a full range of Foxtel channels not just a few select sports and news as so often the case. The Apartments are overdue for renovations and there are a few maintenance and housekeeping issues. In my room there were some broken tiles, the sliding door for the laundry would only close halfway and one of the towels provided was so threadbare it had a hole in it. A fresh coat of paint here and there would certainly brighten the place up. Although I understand the need to book the BBQ’s and Tennis court, I thought that a $50 deposit to ensure it was left clean was a tad excessive. I can only assume that they have had issues in the past. Car parking needs to be booked and confirmed ahead of time. I have a mid-sized sedan and found the spaces a bit tight, guests with large 4 x 4s might find it a bit of a challenge. Previous reviewers have mentioned the street noise. Given that the building is right on the Esplanade some occasional noise should be expected. I stayed from a Monday to Monday, I only noticed an increase in road noise on the weekend evenings which is understandable. If you can overlook the small things, The Olympus Apartments are great value for money and defiantly deserves to be on your short list.
