This was my first time booking a car through trip.com and choosing 1988 rent a car. The car was in excellent condition, new and clean. The car was delivered on time, without any hassle, and convenient. I picked up the car at Haneda Airport, but I had the car dropped off at my hotel at the airport. They delivered it to me without any additional fees. The service was excellent and easy to talk to. The staff was Chinese and could speak a little Japanese and communicate in English. Contacting them was easy. Before leaving, I had trip.com contact the company and got a LINE account, which was very easy and convenient. As for using the car, etc., we made a reservation. Before receiving the car, they asked us to confirm again that we would use it, but we had to put down a deposit in cash or credit card. We chose to put down a cash deposit. They asked us to put down 30,000 yen in cash. When we returned the car, they would take the card to check the balance at the company. Therefore, they didn't refund the money immediately, but we had to fly back already. The company said that we could check the balance the next day and transfer the money right away. It's not difficult to transfer money to an international account. We were in Thailand and arrived the next day. They informed us that we had used less than 10,000 yen. We gave them our Thai account, and the company immediately refunded the remaining amount in Thai baht. There were no additional charges and a full refund was provided. I will definitely use this company again next time. Anyone who is planning to book, don't hesitate. It's very good.

Because our original rental car needed maintenance, we notified them a few days before departure that we needed to swap it out for a different model. The staff quickly arranged a replacement. The car was in excellent condition. We picked it up at the airport and returned it to Ueno Station. The pick-up and return process was very smooth, and the staff were friendly.

The car itself was brand new, so its performance and cleanliness were second to none. There was a slight scratch on the rear end from the previous owner, but it wasn't a major issue and was considered normal. For some unknown reason, the car's battery died, so I had to call the insurance company, which delayed my return. However, thanks to the full coverage insurance, I didn't have to pay any additional fees, and the staff was very friendly. While it could have been my fault, the staff apologized for the inconvenience and greeted me with a smile until the very end. If I ever need a car again in Tokyo, I will definitely consider this rental car company. Even when problems arose, they were friendly and always applied the insurance I had previously signed up for.
