🇯🇵Taiko Onsen Hamokozuki Ryokan in Nagahama City, Shiga Prefecture. This is a hotel with only eight rooms in a guest room design with a high-end open-air hot spring bath. It is highly recommended. Dinner is a kaiseki course made with seasonal ingredients. A kaiseki course made with local ingredients such as sea urchin okra, carp sushi, Nagahama's specialty grilled mackerel, and Omi beef shabu-shabu hotpot. My partner and I thorougly enjoyed our stay at Biwako Hotel. All rooms face the beautiful Lake Biwako and the view was perfect. We even caught a snowfall on one of our mornings here. The staff was great and always friendly even when there was a slight language barrier. We tried their breakfast as well which was really good. Highly recommend renting their electric bikes and cycling around the lake during sunset. And also going for the Lake Biwako Cruise! The hotel onsen is wonderful as well, we will definitely be back

We stayed two nights in the hotel with breakfast and dinner. The web page of Trip.com showed that there was onsen in the hotel but when we check in, we were told that it was a ”mistake”. There is no onsen and the photo is a public onsen half an hours away. It was very disappoining that the Trip.com include photos irrelevant to the hotel. Dinner was also diffferent from the web photo. We have to pay 2500 yen each to upgrade the dinner to shsbu shabu. Breakfast is Japanese style with limited choice. Other than these, we had lake view room and shopping mall is nearby which are the advantages.

The location is very good, just opposite Hikone Station and just across the road. For traveling in the cold winter, it is a blessing to be able to return to the accommodation quickly. The breakfast options are also rich and highly recommended!

The hotel is located by the lake. It is very nice to go down to the beach in the morning to watch the sunrise. Although the lake view room is blocked by some trees, you can see the direction of the sunrise. The environment inside the house is quite dark, and the decoration is in the style of a camping cabin. It is quite comfortable in Lidu. It takes about ten minutes to cross the train station. There is a shuttle available to get to the station after checking out, but there are only two fixed times that didn’t fit our schedule, so we didn’t choose to take it. Makino itself is quite remote, so everything was as expected.

It's a 5-minute walk from Otsu JR Station and a 10-minute walk from Keihan Electric Railway's Torino-Seki Station. The location is good. Super is a chain of budget hotels with high cost performance and includes buffet breakfast. I especially want to praise the service at the front desk. The next morning, I found that the traffic was exhausted. The front desk said that Otsu is a small place and needs to go to Kyoto or Osaka to buy, and asked me about the itinerary for the day. I said that I would go to Koyasan and transfer in Osaka; after that I went to have breakfast. Halfway through the breakfast, the front desk came over with a color printed map (Osaka JR Station), and told me that I checked it. There is a yodobashi, which is on the right hand side of the station. I thank you. After eating, wait for the elevator , she came here with a highlighter in order to mark yodobashi on the map, it was just a trivial matter, but this kind of service awareness, the spirit of feeling that I can still do it, moved me, it is worth learning, stranger , a small city, a small thing makes Otsu warm and memorable.
