Muscat Apartments

My recent stay at the Mandarin Oriental Muscat was overall enjoyable, with several notable highlights. The hotel’s location near the beachfront is fantastic, offering stunning views of Muscat and the surrounding mountains. The interiors are beautifully designed, featuring natural materials that create a luxurious and calming atmosphere. The rooms were ultra-comfortable, with excellent beds and top-quality linens that made for a great night’s sleep. I also appreciated the thoughtful in-room amenities, including good tea, a Nespresso machine, and water in glass bottles—a healthy and eco-friendly touch. The shower gel, shampoo, and conditioner provided were of great quality, and the dental kits were decent. However, I did notice that some toothpaste tubes weren’t fresh, as the paste had become solid and dry in a few sets. Additionally, the shaving kit was of the cheapest level, which didn’t align with the otherwise high standards of the hotel. Breakfast was good but not quite up to the level typically expected from Mandarin Oriental. There’s definitely room for improvement here, but I believe this is something the hotel will refine over time. The staff were polite and professional, which added to the overall positive experience. Considering the hotel is still new, I’d rate the overall experience, including the price/value ratio, as 3.5 out of 5. I’m confident that with time, the hotel will address these minor gaps and elevate the experience to match the impeccable standards the brand is known for.

A great location with access to the mall. Rooms were clean and well lit.They allowed an early check-in, which was a good thing. But that's where the good things end. We faced a few issues during the stay, which I think was a disappointment 1. not enough car parking space for patrons. It's always full, and anybody can come and park . 2. Squeaky beds and not that great on sleep on felt uneven in a lot of places. 3. Service was not that great either. No iron box. Weight scale not working. Blow dryer not working. took 3 calls for them to come replace them, and even that they did not get it right the first time 4. Gym felt claustrophobia and not easy to access without clear signs. Definitely not a 5 star...maybe a 3 star

I have stayed more than 5 times at this hotel in 2024 . The facility location is strategic. Close to common places of work. What is more important is that the neighborhood is quiet. The garden out side add to the beauty of the facility. To top it all is the amazing staff. During my many stays, I never saw them without a smile. They were always there to help us to make our stay as comfortable as possible. To name a few, I would like to thank especially to AbdulMajeed, Rayan, Idrees, Mohammad at the reception, and the entire staff of breakfast lounge. I can say with confidence that this place gives the traveler the best value for the money.

The service attitude is very good, but the check-in is a bit slow. The room is very clean for Oman, but there are some dead insects on the wall that have not been dealt with. The hotel restaurant is also good

Disappointing week in a disappointing hotel. From the moment we landed in Oman, the intercontinental hotel was not helpful. When we asked for a taxi, they wouldn’t help us and we had to arrange ourselves. When we asked if we had a sea view, we were told “we had a partial sea view” which was actually a car park and a loud generator which rattled on all through the night. The generator was so loud we had to keep the balcony doors closed all the time. However, one night, even with the doors closed we were kept awake until 3am with loud bangs and clatters from hotel staff loading up vans with furniture after an event at the hotel. When we asked about booking the onsite restaurants, we were told they were all closed apart from the main one. Multiple times when we went to the main restaurant we were told it was too busy and we had to wait and come back later. When we did get into the restaurant, we often had to wait long times for food to be replaced or we given paper cups because they’d run out of glasses! When we tried to get the WiFi at the pool, there was none. When we tried to use the creams in the room, they’d run out. The staff were lovely and the food was nice but altogether, we didn’t feel looked after and definitely don’t feel this is a 5* hotel.

I loved my stay at the Sheraton Oman. The staff were wonderful- they bent over backwards to help us. I had a couple minor issues with my room, and they came as soon as I informed them, and were fixed immediately. One of the housekeepers picked up the robe I’d been using when they were cleaning and when I asked for a replacement they brought 2 more! They were happy to bring me extra nespresso pods and milk a couple times too. The restaurant staff were so attentive and helpful- Tharindu, Pravda and Khalid and the chef, Krishna- they brought us out coffees and juices at breakfast and made sure I had everything I needed. They allowed my friend and I to eat off the a la carte menu at dinner instead of the iftar menu, since the other hotel restaurants were closed for Ramadan; and when we said we had to leave early at 5am for our flight they packed a lovely to-go box with pastries, fruit, coffee, juice and eggs. I personally really appreciated that the gym was open 24 hours so I could work out before breakfast, and the equipment was pretty good for a hotel gym! My only note for other travelers would be that the hotel is a little far from some of the touristy sights of Muscat. Also, there aren’t many alternative food options around the hotel. But the hotel itself has lots of great options so for us it worked out absolutely fine.

Every thing was great, clean, nice , tasty food at the restaurant  The only thing which really needs attention from hotel management in the bed and pillows need change to a more comfortable ones as we got back and neck pains due to the current ones..although they provided us with double coverings but still the situation is not that comfy

Really great place to stay, it’s in Al khuwair/ghubra, 13 minutes from Muscat Airport. We arrived early, Sanjana at the desk, organised an early check in, staff was great. Good atmosphere overall. I’m more of bear grylls type, so don’t choose any food options at the hotels, locally explored all kinds of cuisine. Just remember Muscat/Oman in general is not foot travel friendly, so don’t expect signalled crossings for pedestrians. We walked to local shops and restaurants within reason. Absolutely awesome Hotel. From the moment we checked in, the receptionist greeted us with the warmest smile. Made our stay the most comfortable The breakfast was delicious with variety to choose from. The staff throughout the hotel was excellent! Very clean hotel. The location was spot on. The view from the pool was breathtakingly beautiful over looking the mountains and the main attractions. Free shuttle to the mall was provided which was that little extra comfort. Thank you!

Nice and friendly staff. The rooms are small, we were 2 adults and 1 child. They did not provide a cot for the child, the bed itself is small even for two adults, we had to fit in the 3rd on this bed. There is drinking water in the rooms, but they do not fill it because there is a cooler in the hallway. There is a minibar, the prices are high. The hotel has a free shuttle to the mosque, Mall and bazaar. (You need to book in advance). The hotel itself is already shaky, it needs cosmetic repairs, especially in the rooms. Breakfast is good, there is a choice. Gentle entry into the sea, first pebbles then sand. Overall, I liked everything.
