I never imagined such a breathtaking Buddhist world hidden in Anyue, Sichuan! The Anyue Stone Carvings are a truly underrated hidden gem. The exquisite stone carvings from the Tang and Song dynasties are well-preserved and truly exceptional. ✨

Address: Pilu Cave Cultural Relics Scenic Area, Guihua Street, Anyue County, Ziyang City, Sichuan Province
Opening Hours: 8:30 AM - 6:00 PM (Open year-round)

This road trip to Anyue was truly a pleasant surprise. The scale of the stone carvings was even more spectacular than I had imagined, especially the thirteen-tiered niches at Yuanjue Cave, where the Buddha statues are incredibly lifelike. I highly recommend hiring a tour guide to learn more about the historical details and stories behind the carvings.

🏞️Tour Guide:
1. Yuanjue Cave: The highlight, housing the oldest extant Thousand-Armed and Thousand-Eyed Guanyin statue.
2. Pilu Cave: Buddhist stone carvings from the Northern Song Dynasty.
3. Don't miss the Main Hall, rebuilt during the Republican period.
4. Visit in the morning for better lighting and stunning photos.

💡Practical Tips:
- There are many steps within the scenic area, so wear comfortable shoes.
- If driving, simply navigate to "Anyue Stone Carvings."
- Admission is 60 yuan in peak season, 40 yuan in off-season.
- Perfect for a half-day leisurely stroll.

There's a nearby vegetarian restaurant for lunch, offering excellent vegetarian dishes for 30-50 yuan per person. If visiting in the afternoon, consider also visiting the Reclining Buddha Temple, as they're both on the same route.
