Doraemon was my favourite television show when I was younger. I have read many of the mangas, scrambled to watch the series when it was played on tv program channel 8 in Singapore every weekend and watched many of its movies when they were released. Therefore, when this exhibition was announced I immediately bought tickets and it did not disappoint. The exhibition showcased the creative writing and creation process of the many funny, loving and sad stories/movies that that led the the many famous Doraemon mangas, series and movies. It also showcased the many loved and famous characters like nobita, shizuka, gian and suneo as well as the iconic locations in the series such as Nobia and Doraemon's House and room, and the classroom of the school where the kids studied. At one part of the exhibition, you can even purchase Doraemon's favourite food: Dorayaki!!!! It was super heavenly and delicious. If you love Doraemon as much as I do, when you were a child and still do, do head down to National museum of Singapore to relive your memories again. Visit to the National Museum turned out to be so enriching as the latest exhibition took us back to the past with notable & memorable memories of the gadgets, sights & sounds used in the past era. Am so glad to be part of the generation that experienced some of the heydays prior to the millennial change. Great experience for the young & old, ends on 31 Oct 2022. Many chances for photo-taking and interactive mini games to blast yourself to the past and be fully immersed on how life was like back then. The museum's gallery uses the latest cutting-edge display technology, redefining the traditional museum experience. From the Lion City 700 years ago, the British colony in the 19th century, the Syonan Island during the World War II to the prosperous and stable Singapore today, the development and changes have left some traces in their own unique way as time goes by, allowing people to have a glimpse. The most experiential is the Animal and Plant Image Museum, a super long image gallery. The key is that you can smell the fragrance of flowers and hear the sound of raindrops all the way, as if you are in the animal world, the immersive feeling is great. At the end is a super large 360° cinema, where you can lie down and look up at the starry sky, birds and flowers, very comfortable. Every time you reach a corner, these trees will grow, super cool. #singaporetrip Time well spent here! Good settings in museum allowing you to walk through time when Singapore was called something else as a nation and how it becomes Singapore like we see today. Like the quote saying “A people without the knowledge of their past history, origin and culture is like a tree without roots.” Very informative and most importantly, free for Singaporeans! There were also videos from way back then that provides insight to the culture and happenings at the time. Worth the visit.
