Hua'e Tower, located in Lianfeng Village, Dadong Town, Dapu County, Meizhou City, Guangdong Province, was built by Lin Yuanyu in the 36th year of the Wanli reign of the Ming Dynasty (1608). Because its round shape resembles a flower calyx, and also symbolizing the love and harmony between brothers, neighbors, and villagers, it was named "Hua'e Tower" (Flower Calyx Tower).
