"We booked the 2.5 hour clansman & castle freedom cruise. This tour departed from Clansman Harbour to cruise across the dark waters of Loch Ness and 1 hour exploration of the Urquhart Castle ruins site. Great adventure! 👍🏻"
    Inverness
    19.8km from downtown
Highlights: Urquhart Castle stands on the south side of Inverness and on the cliff on the shore of Lake Ness. It is condescending and surrounded by water on three sides. It was once a military fortress that was easy to defend and difficult to attack, and one of the important ancient relics in the Scottish Highlands. Now it leaves the world with only some ruins. It is said that in 1691, the castle defenders were defeated and blew up by themselves in order to prevent the castle from being occupied by the enemy. Urquhart Castle covers a large area. The castle you can see now was built by Alan Durter in the 13th century. The main tower exposed because of the collapse shows the internal structure of the castle like an anatomical sample. Because it is located in the fortress of Goron Canyon, the military position is very important.

"In January, I first traveled to the Scottish Highlands. I saw that the same traveler had both letters and the same appearance of the cow, so I searched for a real body there! This cow is really proud to have long hair to cover 2 eyes. Taiwanese also call it "Jayden Cow" 😂😂."
    Fort Augustus
    47.6km from downtown
Highlights: The Scottish Highlands is the name given to the mountains to the west and north of the Scottish Highlands Boundary Fault. The Scottish Highlands are sparsely populated with many mountains, including Ben Nevis, the highest peak in the UK. Although it is located on the densely populated island of Great Britain, it is less densely populated than places of similar latitudes such as Sweden and Norway.

    Isle of Skye
    >100km from downtown
Highlights: The Old Man's Peak is located on the island at the northern tip of Scotland, at the foot of the Trotternish Mountains, and is known as the most spectacular view of the Isle of Skye. The mountain is covered with forests, blocking the sky and the sun, and only a few stone pillars stand on the peak, which is very spectacular.

"Nice cruise trip. The water is black and there is a canal. Many souvenirs shops with cute Nessies."
    Inverness
    19.3km from downtown
Highlights: Loch Ness is a British freshwater lake with a long and narrow shape with complex bottom topography and many caves. It is located in the cold Scottish Highlands but can not freeze all year round. The external waterway is the Ness River. This lake is well-known for the endless rumors of sightings of plesiosaur-like water monsters. There are even local tours with the theme of "finding the whereabouts of water monsters", but tourists should not come here with the mentality of seeing water monsters. Although no water monsters can be seen, the road by the lake on the west bank is part of the A82 road, known as the beautiful road in Scotland. There are Urquhart Castle and the water monster exhibition center on the lakeside. The main way to visit Loch Ness is to take a cruise ship. The cruise companies that tourists often choose are CruiseLochNess, Jacobite and so on. In addition, you can also go hiking, cycling, boating and other activities.

"As the train was about to reach the Glenfinnan viaduct, the whole train began to move. We opened the small window on the train to the maximum, the crazy shutter, it turned out everyone was the same."
    Glenfinnan
    97.4km from downtown
Highlights: The Glenfinnan Viaduct is the only place to pass between Fort William and Mallaig on the Scottish Highlands Western Railway Line. The bridge is 30 meters high and 381 meters long. Built between 1897 and 1901, it is the world's oldest concrete railway viaduct. The classic scene of the train to Hogwarts in "Harry Potter" was shot here.

"Stand quietly by the water, silently walk across the history. The castle looks very old and very old, as a cold weapon era building, in line with all the necessary hardware facilities of that time."
    Kyle
    80km from downtown
Highlights: Eilean Donna Castle is one of the most famous castles in the world. The castle was built on an island in the lake. A stone bridge connects the castle and the land across the lake. The quiet lake and the ancient castle form a picturesque scenery. It was once a filming location for 007 movies. . Because of its location surrounded by water on three sides and on the west coast, the castle has always been the first place to be invaded. The Germans, Vikings, and later the Spaniards all landed here.

"Standing on the cliff edge of the seabed like a knife, the climate of early winter makes everything in the distance a little foggy, not like a clear sky when white clouds float in the sky, like a veil."
    Isle of Skye
    >100km from downtown
Highlights: Kilt Rock Cliff, named for its appearance like a kilt, is located on the coast near the town of Staffin. There is a waterfall directly into the sea on the cliff. It is a very famous landscape in Scotland. It often appears on scenic postcards and is also very suitable for taking pictures. From winter to spring or summer when there is a lot of rain, the waterfall has a larger water flow. In summer, the cliffs are full of wildflowers, and the photos taken are more beautiful. It should be noted that you have to look from the side to see the full picture of the waterfall.

"It is said that this is one of the highest points in Great Britain. Although the scenery of the whole mountain is not very shocking, and the absolute altitude difference is not obvious, the creek in the middle still makes the mountain look very different, although most people pass by Sugar. Lang Heights is all for going to Loch Ness, but our guide stopped here for a while to take pictures of the cloudy weather, although it is not beautiful, but it brings a mysterious feeling to the mountain. Maybe the sunny scenery is not as good as this moment."
    Fort William
    87.4km from downtown
Highlights: Ben Nevis is the highest mountain in the British Isles. It is located in the Grampian Mountains in western Scotland, next to the small town of Fort William in the Highlands.

"The center of the Scottish plateau is surrounded by Mount Kanegom, which covers a tenth of the area of Scotland, and is "Kainegom National Park". There are ideal ski resorts in the park, and there are five ski resorts in Scotland, which account for three. Moreover, the geographical environment of the park seems to be completely preserved, except for a few castles and small villages. That is why a 250 km walk in the park is popular with backpackers. Walking on this trail, in addition to fully feeling the wildness of the Scottish Highlands, there is still some relief for the Huaigu complex."
    Grantown on Spey

Highlights: The Cairngorms National Park is Scotland's national park and the highest peak in the United Kingdom. In this national park, there are not only rich natural landscapes, but also a wide variety of activities to participate in. Three of Scotland's five ski resorts are located in the Cairngorms, and the park also has two water sports, fly fishing areas, buck tracking areas and a 280km walking track. It is a paradise for those who like outdoor sports.

"A representative attraction on the far right of the Scottish Highlands, suitable for self-driving, accompanied by beautiful scenery along the way, this mountain pass is spectacular, tourists are also concentrated, summer is green, winter is slightly desolate"
    Portree
    >100km from downtown
Highlights: The Quereying Pass is located in the northern part of Sky Island, and its distinctive feature is the numerous pinnacles. It's great for driving or hiking, with about 1.7 miles of trails. In the valley, the beautiful scenery is breathtaking. When you go to the top, you can also see Staffin Bay in the distance.
