The 157-meter-high bell tower makes it the second tallest church in Germany, the third tallest in the world, and the third largest Gothic church in the world. The church was built in the middle of the 13th century. After more than 600 years, it was only announced to be completed in 1880. The church is still being repaired. The church is considered a good combination of all medieval Gothic architectural and decorative elements and is listed as a World Heritage Site by UNESCO.

"The galleries are enormous and many areas flooded with light. It is a pleasure to walk round. Interpretive material in English and German, the emphasis being to put the artworks in historical context, grouped by 'movement'. The collection is based on two private donations. Admission expensive with no reduction for pensioners, but worth the charge for the Picasso, the Russian avant-garde and Max Beckmann. There is a really excellent bookshop with many books in English."

Highlights: The Great St. Martin's Church is a Roman Catholic church known for its imposing quarter-tower top and clover-like ground shape. From the records, it is speculated that in the first century AD, the archbishop Bruno started to build the church, which underwent reconstruction and became what we see today in the mid-15th century. After the natural disaster and the French Revolution, the church was almost destroyed except for the main building that was largely intact. A full restoration started in the 19th century and it was completely renewed from the inside out. The north and south walls of the preserved main building show the remains of the old building, but not all the damaged parts have been restored. After the World War, the church was severely damaged, and it was rebuilt for the second time in the late 19th century. Except for the restoration of the exterior of the building in accordance with the style of the 19th century, the interior decoration of the building retained its mottled and faded appearance. It is worth mentioning that the crypt of the church preserves the architectural archaeological site of the Roman period from the first century to the second century AD, showing the cultural layers of different architectural periods.

Highlights: The Chocolate Museum is a very worthwhile museum in Cologne, filled with the aroma of chocolate. Here you can see the whole process of making various chocolate beans into chocolate. There is real chocolate being processed in each machine, which is a real slander. In addition to visiting, the museum also offers tastings. On the huge turntable is a golden chocolate fruit tree with chocolate flowing under the tree. The staff will hold waffles dipped in fresh chocolate sauce and distribute them to the foodies around.

"Königsallee in Düsseldorf is known for its flanked fashion showrooms and luxury retail stores. It is by far the busiest high-end shopping street in Germany."
    Dusseldorf
    65.6 km from downtown
Highlights: One of the most elegant shopping streets in the world. There is a canal in the middle of King's Road, and chestnut tree avenues are on both sides. The east avenue is full of world brand stores, and the west avenue is a bank and other financial institutions. The avenues on both sides are connected by bridges composed of several wrought iron railings. The trees on both sides of the waterway are lush, and benches are placed for people to rest, which is very beautiful. Legend has it that King William IV of Prussia was on tour here, and angry citizens threw horse dung at the king, provoking the king's wrath. In apology the street was renamed King's Road.

"The classic photo I often see is a photo of the Hohenzollern Bridge and the Cologne Cathedral. Walking east along the Cologne Cathedral, you will come to the bridge. On both sides of the bridge are sidewalks and bicycle lanes, and in the middle is the railway track. Walking on the bridge, there are trains passing by on the middle track from time to time. Standing in the middle of the bridge or on the west bank of the bridge is a better place to enjoy. On the side of the sidewalk near the track, there are colorful and dense love locks. It is said that hanging a lock on the Hohenzollern bridge, throwing the key into the Rhine, love can be long, so many locals, and tourists who come here, have carved their names and lovers on the lock and left on this bridge, accumulated over the years, more and more locks, Colorful copper locks, forming unique landscape. The popularity of the Hohenzollern Bridge originated from the song "SchenkmirdeinHerz (Give Your Heart to Me)" by the singer Hoehner. The story in the lyrics is based on the Hohenzollern Bridge in Cologne and its reliance on it. love story. The song later became a household name in Germany and was a carnival repertoire.
