M84***65The only one of China's four ancient academies still in operation is located on the Hunan University campus. Currently, it serves as the classroom for history and archaeology-related departments. Having withstood the test of several dynasties and wars, it has stood the test of time. This place has nurtured many scholars, writers, and politicians. Walking along the paths and corridors once trodden by historical figures, one can feel the rich history of its past prosperity – well worth a visit. The tour guide was attentive and provided excellent explanations, offering in-depth narratives of the various historical sites. The explanations were captivating, making the visit feel like a personal experience, leaving a lasting impression and making it well worth the trip. 👍

胖羊妈妈We spent eight hours there and still couldn't get enough. The facilities are new, the scenery is beautiful, there aren't many people, the lines aren't long, there are shows to watch, and the food is affordable. Hunan TV is right next to it, and when we got out at almost 10 pm, we still had food at Pizza Hut, and it was only 40 yuan per person, plus gifts. I highly recommend planning a full day with your kids to have fun!

Anonymous userClaimed to be the largest private art museum in China, it houses oil paintings by Mr. Li Zijian, mainly depicting figures and scenes, with the theme of promoting national culture. It is likely used as a window for external publicity.

kkweonFor those seeking a less crowded and more relaxed zoo experience in China, the Changsha Ecological Zoo is an excellent choice. Its large, open grounds provide a comfortable environment for a day of family fun and animal encounters. One of the standout features is the safari bus, which offers a fantastic way to see many of the animals in a spacious, naturalistic setting. It’s a highlight that allows you to cover a lot of ground comfortably. We were also delighted to see two giant pandas, which were a definite treat. The zoo offers more than just viewing; the interactive experiences are highly engaging. We attended a memorable bird show where parrots danced, and one clever bird even performed simple math problems, amazing both children and adults. There are also several feeding events throughout the day. My daughter had a wonderful time feeding carrots to a llama, and we saw other opportunities to feed animals like elephants, though we didn't partake in that one. These interactive moments make the visit particularly special for kids. For visitors who might find the large park challenging to walk, the zoo thoughtfully offers small electric carts for rent. This is a great option for families with young children or elderly members, ensuring everyone can enjoy the park without getting too tired.Overall, the Changsha Ecological Zoo provides a wonderful, spacious, and interactive day out, free from the overwhelming crowds of zoos in other major cities.

斋普尔狄仁杰Because we suddenly decided to extend our stay in Changsha, we added a visit to the Changsha Museum to our itinerary. We quickly booked tickets and hired a guide through Ctrip! Ctrip was incredibly efficient; within five minutes of placing the order, the guide contacted us with a QR code and an arrival time for the afternoon. We arrived at 3:00 PM, and our guide, Xiao Chen, began his explanation with patience and thoroughness. The children learned a lot! A thumbs up!

阿莲漫游Hunan Provincial Forest Botanical Garden, as one of Changsha's representative autumn scenery spots, is worth a special trip due to its unique dawn redwood landscape and relatively niche positioning, but there are also some drawbacks to the experience. The following is an in-depth analysis from three dimensions: landscape, experience, and photography: 🌲 Core Advantages The Dawn Redwood Avenue: A Stunning Scene A 200-meter-long straight dawn redwood forest (at the North Gate entrance), whose leaves turn rust-red at the end of November, creates a "light and shadow tunnel" effect when sunlight shines through, offering a unique and breathtaking forest-like experience in Changsha. Compared to the dawn redwoods in Martyrs' Park, the trees here are taller and denser, perfect for capturing atmospheric photos with a strong sense of depth. Rich and Concentrated Autumn Colors In addition to the dawn redwoods, the Maple Avenue (red-yellow gradient), Cherry Blossom Lake (withered lotus and dawn redwood reflections), and Bamboo Garden (green bamboo contrasting with red leaves) can all be visited in one place, saving you the trouble of going to different places. Visitor density is relatively low. Compared to the crowds at Yuelu Mountain, the Botanical Garden offers near-private spaces for photography on weekdays, with weekend crowds concentrated after 10 AM. ⚠️ Drawbacks and Avoidance Guidelines The dawn red leaves of the metasequoia trees are short-lived and unstable. The best viewing period is only about two weeks (usually late November to early December). Strong winds and rain can cause premature leaf drop; it's recommended to check the official WeChat account for live updates before your visit. Facilities need upgrading. There are few and expensive restaurants within the garden (only a small shop), so it's advisable to bring your own snacks. Some path signs are unclear, making it easy to miss hidden photo spots (such as the dawn redwood forest west of Cherry Blossom Lake). Transportation is average. There is no direct subway access. After getting off at "Bantangchong Station" on Line 5, you need to walk 1.5 kilometers or transfer to a bus. Driving is preferable (the North Gate parking lot has ample parking). 📸 Photography Tips Golden time: 3-5 PM when the sunlight shines obliquely on the dawn redwood avenue, creating dappled light on the tree trunks. Hidden Spot: On the east bank of Sakura Lake stands a solitary dawn redwood tree with the lake surface and withered lotus leaves as a backdrop, perfect for portrait close-ups. Equipment Recommendation: Bring a 70-200mm telephoto lens to compress space; a wide-angle lens won't capture the density of the dawn redwood forest. 🎯 Recommended for: ✅ Photography Enthusiasts: The light and shadow effects along the Dawn Redwood Avenue yield excellent results. ✅ Families with Children: A children's playground combined with autumn foliage education makes it a great place for kids. ❌ For Lazy Visitors: Requires a long walk; there are no sightseeing buses within the park. Summary: If you're coming specifically for the dawn redwoods and have ample time, this place offers Changsha's top-tier autumn scenery. If convenience or focusing on red leaves is the priority, consider combining Yuelu Mountain and Martyrs' Park.
