The Qian Mountains face the Bohai Sea on the south and connect to the Changbai Mountains in the north. They are a famous Taoist site. The mountains are named for the thousands of rocky peaks that look like lotus flowers. The many strange rock shapes are a unique sight of nature and create a beautiful setting. The naturally occurring Qianshan Maitreya Buddha is a sight you can't miss: the string of naturally formed prayer beads around the Buddha's chest are remarkable.China · Anshan

The Hill

The Hill is a cultural, commercial, and tourism complex located in the Hongqi Street business district of Changchun. Its uniqueness lies in bringing a mountain indoors: upon entering, you are greeted by mountain-shaped architecture, with the main mountain path spiraling upward. Stone steps, alleys, courtyards, quaint plaques, and rocks are scattered throughout, accompanied by lush greenery, the sound of water, and birdsong, allowing you to experience the fun of mountain climbing without leaving the city. The entire mountain is enclosed indoors, so even in the cold Northeast winters, the mountain remains green, and you can visit as usual during rain or snow. Walking up the mountain path, you will find craft shops, bookstores, teahouses, general stores, and creative boutiques scattered along the way, while snack streets, cinemas, and theaters are also hidden within the mountain; the Wencham Pavilion at the highest point is the core view for overlooking the entire mountain, while the Wangshan Pavilion at the end of the route is perfect for a rest, offering a panoramic view of the mountainside. The spacious cave hall can host markets, exhibitions, and other events. Strolling here relies entirely on walking up steps, which tests your stamina and can be disorienting, but fortunately, the merchants along the way are happy to help with directions. If you catch immersive performances like the "Mountain Opening Ceremony," flash mobs and costume interactions will make your visit more engaging; after nightfall, the mountain remains brightly lit and bustling, making it a great place for weekend strolls and family-friendly outings, and a great spot to experience the local vibe of Changchun.China · Changchun

Beiling Park (also known as Zhaoling Mausoleum of the Qing Dynasty) is located in Huanggu District, Shenyang City, Liaoning Province, China. It serves as the mausoleum of Hong Taiji, the second founding emperor of the Qing Dynasty, and his empress Xiaoduanwen. It is also one of the relatively well-preserved ancient imperial mausoleum complexes in China. As the largest and best-preserved among the "Three Imperial Mausoleums Outside Shanhaiguan" (the other two being Fuling and Yongling), Beiling Park combines historical cultural heritage with urban leisure functions. It is now a UNESCO World Heritage Site (as part of the Imperial Tombs of the Ming and Qing Dynasties extension) and a national AAAA-level tourist attraction. Beiling Park was initially constructed in 1643 (the 8th year of Chongde) and largely completed in 1651 (the 8th year of Shunzhi), with subsequent expansions during the Kangxi and Qianlong eras. It stands as a prime example of Qing Dynasty imperial mausoleum architecture blending Manchu and Han cultural elements. The complex features meticulously arranged structures including the Main Red Gate, Stele Pavilion, Long'en Hall, Square City, Crescent City, and the Treasure Dome (underground palace), all showcasing exquisite carvings and the grandeur of early Qing tomb architecture. The park boasts over 2,000 ancient pines aged 300+ years, forming a unique "ancient pine forest" view. Its southern section serves as a modern park area with lakes, flower fields, and tree-lined pathways offering seasonal charm: cherry blossoms in spring, lush greenery in summer, golden ginkgo leaves in fall, and serene snowscapes in winter.China · Shenyang

The new exhibition, with the history of the September 18th Incident and the 14-year War of Resistance in Northeast China as its main themes, truthfully reflects through six sections: Japan's policy of aggression against China and war plotting, the September 18th Incident and the fall of Northeast China, Japan's colonial rule in Northeast China, the anti-Japanese struggles of the Northeast people, the Northeast War of Resistance as part of the Eastern Front, and remembering history and cherishing peace. The historical truth about Japanese militarism's premeditated orchestration of the September 18 Incident and its launch of a full-scale war of aggression against China, with a focus on highlighting the systematic and comprehensive nature of the 14-year resistance by the military and civilians in Northeast China. It recreates the historical panorama of the 14-year bloody struggle waged by the people of Northeast China under the leadership of the Communist Party of China, showcasing the Party's pivotal role in the Northeast resistance and the indomitable spirit of the Chinese nation during the war. The "9.18" Historical Museum in Shenyang has received tens of millions of visitors since its opening over 30 years ago, with an annual attendance of 4.68 million. It has become an important venue for major commemorative activities of the War of Resistance. Since 1999, the "Never forget 9.18 bell-tolling and alarm-sounding" ceremony has been held annually on September 18. On that day, air defense sirens will sound across Shenyang, followed by 14 tolls of the memorial bell, reminding people never to forget the national humiliation and the "9.18" incident.China · Shenyang

As I've said before, the service attitude of the shuttle bus drivers needs improvement. Everything else is fine, but isn't it a bit cold in these small vehicles on a day like this? They should probably switch to minivans. 15 yuan isn't cheap either, and it's freezing cold.

Tianding Mountain Family Fun Experience (approx. 200 words) A weekend trip to Tianding Mountain with the kids! We tried everything – the cable car, the mountain bikes, and the double-track toboggan – a truly immersive experience! The sightseeing cable car winds through the lush greenery, offering panoramic views of the meadows and the city skyline from the summit, all while enjoying a refreshing mountain breeze. The brightly colored mountain bikes are self-controlled and incredibly fun, with winding curves that kept the kids laughing non-stop. Children under 130cm can ride with adults. The high-altitude double toboggan is thrilling yet relaxing, with its undulating tracks and fantastic forest atmosphere. A package deal combining all three attractions offers even better value. The park has excellent facilities, including a lawn for camping and relaxation. The staff are patient and helpful, and safety measures are in place. It's a great choice for a family outing near Changchun!

The overall environment was quite nice, but the glass on the cable car was a bit scratched, with significant human-caused wear and tear, which greatly affected taking photos. I suggest putting up a sign to prevent people from scribbling on the glass.

As one of the eight major Liao Dynasty architectural masterpieces, the magnificent Mahavira Hall and its Buddha statues are well worth the ticket price. A thorough visit and exploration, learning about the story of this thousand-year-old temple, makes the experience even more vivid and intuitive; this dialogue with history is itself the meaning of travel.
