Okinawa memorial park is located by the sea in the northern part of Okinawa's main island. Built in August 1976 on the former site of the 1975 Okinawa international ocean exposition, the park carries the theme of "sun, flowers and ocean." The grounds are broadly divided into three zones: ocean, history & culture, and flowers & greenery, featuring an aquarium, dolphin shows, botanical gardens and beaches - perfect for a half-day visit. The ocean zone is particularly popular: Okinawa Churaumi aquarium, the park's flagship attraction, houses whale sharks and manta rays in its massive tank; the adjacent dolphin theater continues shows dating back to the exposition era; the manatee house hosts manatees gifted by the Mexican government, while the turtle house observes turtle growth and dolphin lagoon offers close-up dolphin viewing; emerald beach is an artificial coral sand beach within the lagoon, swimmable in summer. The history & culture zone's ocean culture museum displays hundreds of exhibits including large canoes, showcasing Okinawa's maritime connections with the South Pacific and Southeast Asia, along with an observatory; nearby Okinawa traditional village recreates a 17th-19th century Ryukyu kingdom settlement with red-tiled houses, elevated granaries and windbreak trees, accompanied by Soro botanical garden featuring over twenty local plants mentioned in ancient ballads. The flowers & greenery zone's tropical dream center maintains year-round orchid and tropical plant displays in greenhouses, while the tropical/subtropical urban greening garden and sunset plaza make worthy stops. The expansive park requires walking between zones, with electric carts available. While most visitors head straight for the aquarium, Okinawa traditional village offers a more relaxed pace with trilingual audio guides in historic houses and occasional sanshin performances, providing deeper immersion into Ryukyu's maritime heritage.Motobu · 30.3 km from Kunigami

I love theme parks and this is new concept for me. The rain/weather only added thrill to the atmosphere. There were also few visitors during my visit so I was able to do all the attractions that I wanted to do. The food in Panaroma Dining is delicious. The spa was also very nice. It was a great way to end the day!

Kouri Island is a circular island with a diameter of about 8 km floating in the north of Yagaji Island. Sea urchin and mozuku are the specialties of this island, which are well-known and the fishing industry is prosperous. There is the Okinawan version of the creation myth of Adam and Eve, and ancient sacrificial activities such as the Sea God Festival held after the Bon Festival in July of the old lunar calendar have been passed down.

A must-see stop on any trip to Okinawa! The Churaumi Aquarium is even more breathtaking than I imagined. The most impressive feature is the enormous Kuroshio Current tank, where whale sharks and various marine creatures swim gently past – a truly soothing and visually stunning sight. Standing in front of the giant glass windows, you feel like you're actually in an underwater world, and you can easily spend a long time quietly observing. The overall experience is excellent, with indoor aquariums, outdoor dolphin shows, and other marine-related exhibits. It's perfect for families and nature and ocean lovers alike. If you're visiting Okinawa, I highly recommend setting aside half a day to explore this place at your own pace and truly experience it!

Spectacular scenery~ It takes quite a bit of time to get to the northernmost part of Okinawa, but it is well worth the time. You can enjoy the overwhelming scenery of nature with the swirling ocean and the mountains in the distance.

"At first glance, it seemed a bit mysterious, but I was very impressed upon arrival! The management was excellent from start to finish. The staff's instructions were clear and incredibly friendly. Importantly, the shuttle service was convenient and very punctual. If you're hesitating, I highly recommend it. You won't regret it!"

In Nago City, a little far from Naha, you can play with the Churaumi Aquarium ~ Although it is not big, it is fun. Take a small train + automatic sightseeing car, there are Chinese commentaries, eat pineapple ice cream after sightseeing and buy souvenirs. It takes about 1 to 1.5 hours.

The Kouri Bridge is so beautiful under the clear sky. The white bridge is reflected on the blue bridge. Below is the white beach and the clear sea water. There are different depths of sea water on both sides of the bridge. If you drive by yourself, I highly recommend this attraction.
