Sihailongwan Maar Lake

Sihailongwan Maar Lake

4.5
4.4/5
36 reviews
With a unique geological base and outstanding ecological value, the attraction leverages the scarce geological resource of the Maar Lake crater. Through smart observation towers and volcanic ash display boards, the scenic area visually showcases geological features such as the pore structure of the volcanic rocks and the circular crater. Furthermore, a unique vegetation awareness garden and wildlife observation points are built around volcanic-specific plants (such as volcanic poplar and Korean pine) and rare animals (such as the Chinese merganser and the roe deer), forming a dual value system of "geological science popularization + ecological protection," combining scientific research and education with natural appreciation. The attraction offers diverse experiences and a strong sense of immersion. The scenic area comprehensively plans four experience zones: natural ecology, online celebrity check-in spots, cultural immersion, and wellness and leisure. Each zone's business formats complement each other and are organically linked. The natural ecology zone enhances a sense of closeness to nature with seasonal scenery (Lotus Guanlan Pond) and childlike interactions (Cute Pet Park, Wildman Tribe). The online celebrity check-in zone caters to visitors' social sharing needs through scenario-based designs such as the "Sky Realm" crystal boat and ancient travel photography. The cultural immersion zone conveys regional culture through "Forest Adventure" wild man interactions and "Er's Traces" cultural and creative products ("Er Bao Ya" derivatives and geological-themed commemorative coins). The wellness and leisure zone offers slow-paced leisure options through formats such as fireside tea brewing, yoga retreats, leisurely fishing, and ancient tree meditation. These zones fully meet the needs of different guest groups and create an immersive experience that is "visible, playful, enjoyable, and memorable." Operational details are standardized, prioritizing ecological protection. The attraction emphasizes a balance between ecological protection and operational safety in its business design. For example, Liuli Fishing has environmentally friendly fish feeding stations, while Xianyun Fishing Area requires the use of barbless hooks and plant-based bait and advocates catch-and-release. Furthermore, through standardized operational management such as 24-hour vending machines, the scenic area ensures a convenient visitors experience while minimizing the impact on the original ecological environment of Maar Lake, achieving a coordinated advancement of ecological protection and cultural tourism development.Jingyu · 19.9 km from downtown

Jingyue Pond (Crescent Pond) is a reservoir in the southeastern suburb of Changchun. It is known as the "sister lake of Taiwan's Riyue Lake". The groves of trees planted around the lake have become the largest forest park in Changchun. Walk through the forest paths to admire the trees, or stroll to the reservoir to look at the glimmering water and breathe in some fresh air. This is a great place to relax and unwind.China · Changchun

Remember, you don't need to take the shuttle bus. Walk 20 meters forward from the entrance and the left-hand boardwalk leads directly to the observation tower; it's not tiring. After enjoying the view, take the elevator down and walk to the right, then down the stairs and boardwalk back to the park entrance. It's not tiring either.

On the way back to Shenyang from Yanji, I found that this scenic spot is very close to the highway exit, which does not delay the time and journey, and is just the right time to stretch my legs. The scenic spot is open to the public for free, and you can pay to take a boat trip. You need to pass a tree-lined road to get to the lake, which should be cool and comfortable to walk here in summer. There are agricultural products for sale in the scenic area. A simple sister sold me a basket of small radishes. It is not a loss to buy it for 10 yuan. It is just a little bit. No matter how small it is, it is still a radish. By the way, this should be a good place for fishing. There is a fisherman watching every 7.8 meters on the right side of the lake in the scenic area.

I highly recommend tour guide Xiao Wang (number ending in 8770)! His explanations are engaging and vivid, bringing the history of the Qing Dynasty and the Republic of China to life in a relatable way, not just reading from a textbook. He's considerate of everyone's pace, patiently answers all questions, and points out great photo spots. There's absolutely no hard selling. Only after listening to him do you truly understand the stories behind each palace and mansion. Visit him in Shenyang for a truly unforgettable experience! ✨

The Shenyang Imperial Palace is also very large; by the end, I was completely exhausted. Inside the scenic area, there's Zhang Xueliang's former residence, and a financial museum was included as a bonus. All of these were quite interesting and worth seeing.

There were so many people and tourists that I didn't have time to take in many things. It's like a low-end version of the Forbidden City in Beijing. Many of the artifacts on display were discarded from the Forbidden City. Some rooms were off-limits, so people crowded around the entrances to take photos. There was no lighting inside, so the photos didn't look great. The architecture is still quite distinctive.

Changbai Mountain, true to its name, is incredibly clean! The restrooms in all areas were spotless, with sensor-activated flushes and hot water for handwashing – a truly touching experience for an autumn/winter trip. The restrooms had different themes, such as sables and black bears, adding a touch of vibrancy. We arrived a little late; most of the leaves had fallen, and it was the dry season, so the waterfalls weren't at their most beautiful. The small Tianchi Lake wasn't worth visiting yet; it's small, the water quality is so-so, and the surrounding forests are bare. Overall, the autumn air was crisp and clear. The 50-kilometer stretch from the distribution center to the transfer center was beautiful, vibrant with color, and Tianchi Lake was stunning. I especially loved the forest at the bottom of the valley; the pine scent was wonderful! I highly recommend walking to the end; there are vast, fairytale-like forests there, and we were lucky enough to encounter foxes and quite a few chipmunks along the way!

It's a bit far from downtown Changchun, about an hour's drive away. The automatic parking system at the entrance was a first for me, and it was free! There were even volunteers to show you how to use it – so thoughtful! The place is incredibly large; walking is impossible. A bus ride around it takes over 40 minutes. The most beautiful area is near the dam, not far from the entrance!
