The large-scale water show "Northern Song Dynasty: Splendid Dreams of Dongjing" is performed on Jinglong Lake. The entire show is connected by eight classic Song Dynasty poems and a scroll of "Along the River During the Qingming Festival," transporting the audience back to Dongjing of the Northern Song Dynasty a thousand years ago. Kaifeng Fu (Kaifeng Palace)
During the Northern Song dynasty, Kaifeng Fu (Kaifeng Palace) was where Bao Zheng, the renowned "Justice Bao," served as the prefect. The original Kaifeng Fu of the Song dynasty was long destroyed by floods. What travelers see today is a recently reconstructed artificial ancient-style attraction. Sanhe Ancient Town
Sanhe Ancient Town is situated at the southern tip of Feixi County in Hefei, where the Fengle River, Hangbu River, and Xiaonan River converge. The town derives its name from these three waterways, with the name "Sanhe" appearing as early as the Ming Dynasty and officially becoming Sanhe Town during the Qing Dynasty. In 1858, Taiping Rebellion generals Chen Yucheng and Li Xiucheng achieved a decisive victory over the Xiang Army here, historically known as the "Great Victory of Sanhe." The triumphal arch at the town entrance, Yingwang Mansion, and ancient city walls still bear witness to this turbulent period. The old bluestone-paved streets stretch along the river, lined with contiguous Huizhou-style residences featuring gray brick walls and soaring horse-head gables, blending water-town alleys with Huizhou-style markets seamlessly. The Qingming Riverside Landscape Garden, a Song Dynasty cultural park recreated based on the famous painting "Along the River During the Qingming Festival," offers an immersive experience. The park boasts a rich variety of performances, with "Yue Fei Spears Xiao Liang Wang" being a highly recommended highlight—the equestrian combat is spectacular. The "Great Song Dynasty: A Dream of Bianjing" live-action performance is breathtaking and beautiful. Actors in Song Dynasty costumes are everywhere on the streets, carrying loads, hawking goods, and performing acrobatics, making you feel like you've stepped into a living ancient painting. The streets, alleys, Rainbow Bridge, and Bian River are all faithfully recreated, making it perfect for introducing children to the history of Northern Song Dynasty life. The only downside is the crowds during holidays; arrive early to secure a spot at popular performances. A visit to the garden can easily take up half a day—a must-do when in Kaifeng!

Linquan Magic Zoo has many highlights. The park covers a vast area and is divided into multiple areas such as the beast area, the herbivorous area, and the cute pet area. Nearly 5,000 rare animals of more than 200 species live here. You can see giraffes eating gracefully and lions walking majestically. The wonderful animal performances are also not to be missed. The talents of sea lions and parrots are hilarious. In addition, cute pet interactions, beast sightseeing cars and other projects add to the fun of the tour.

It's very worthwhile, but it's also very crowded, which might slightly detract from the overall experience. However, the people are incredibly welcoming, and there are many beautiful spots for taking photos. The food is also affordable and inexpensive, which kids enjoy. I'll definitely go back when it's less crowded.

It's a really fun place. It's huge inside with lots of delicious food stalls, like bringing the eateries from several neighborhoods into the park. The dining options are even more concentrated than in the city center. It truly combines eating, playing, and sightseeing all in one place. No wonder it's a 3-day pass; you could easily spend 3 days straight without getting bored.

A huge thank you to our guide today, Ms. Feng Ping. Her solid historical knowledge allowed her to vividly and clearly explain the historical stories behind the Shang and Zhou dynasties' ritual systems, diverse cultures, and the custom of "clinking cups and exchanging toasts." The entire three-hour tour was incredibly rich in content.
The overall logic was excellent. The opening provided a general overview of the museum, and the content flowed smoothly between the exhibition halls. Her pacing was superb, bringing the profound Central Plains civilization to life. I felt so fortunate to have met Ms. Feng Ping; she's a perfect museum guide in China!

The architecture is magnificent. Climbing Qingxin Tower at sunset offers a panoramic view of Bao Gong Lake, which is incredibly photogenic (although my photography skills are quite limited). There weren't many people. Because of limited time, I didn't get to see many worthwhile places, watch any shows, or participate in any scripted tours, which is a real shame. I'll definitely make the most of it next time. Oh, and I actually found a miniature Fu Hao owl-shaped bronze vessel in a very dark room in the west wing of Gongkui Tower.

Sanhe Ancient Town is a free ancient town near Hefei that's well worth visiting. With its charming canals, ancient streets, and alleys, it exudes a captivating atmosphere. You can stroll along the cobblestone paths, visit historical residences, and sample local delicacies such as rice dumplings, rice wine, and dried tea. It's not overly commercialized, making for a relaxed and enjoyable experience. Overall, it offers great value for money and is perfect for a short trip to experience the charm of a Jianghuai water town.

We took the Shaolin cable car up to Shuce Cliff, walked a little further, and then turned back after hearing that the Liantian Plank Road was still a long way off. We visited Shaolin Temple and the Pagoda Forest before leaving, saving our energy for Laojun Mountain the next day.
