Xiqiao Mountain Scenic Area
Xiqiao Mountain Scenic Area is located in the heart of the Pearl River Delta. It is an ancient volcano that lay dormant for tens of millions of years, with its main peak standing over 300 m above sea level. It is often said that "a trip to Lingnan is incomplete without visiting Xiqiao Mountain." As early as over 6,000 years ago, ancient inhabitants quarried stone here to make tools. Archaeologists have ranked this site alongside the Shanxi Emakou site as one of China's two major Neolithic stone tool workshops in the north and south. Thus, Xiqiao Mountain is hailed as the "beacon of Pearl River civilization." During the Ming Dynasty, Confucian scholars such as Zhan Ruoshui and Fang Xianfu established academies here to teach, earning it the title of "renowned mountain of Neo-Confucianism." The layering of prehistoric ruins, ancient quarrying sites, and historical academy relics within a single mountain is a rare cultural depth among Lingnan's famous peaks. The main views along the mountain unfold through peculiar rocks, secluded caves, and mountain lakes. The bronze statue of Guanyin on Daxian Peak stands over 60 m tall, serving as the landmark view of the entire mountain. From the summit, the open vista overlooks vast stretches of mulberry-dyke fishpond landscapes below. Baiyun Cave clusters Ming and Qing dynasty structures like Sanhu Academy, Kuiguang Tower, and Yunquan Immortal Hall alongside cliff carvings. Kang Youwei spent his youth studying here, and the cave's "Thousand-foot waterfall" was listed among the "Eight views of Yangcheng" as early as the Qing dynasty. The ancient quarrying site at Shiyan Rock features deep caverns, with underwater traces of ancestral stone extraction still visible today. Jiulong Rock's massive boulders interconnect through nine passages—bright outside yet dark within—creating a spelunking adventure akin to navigating a spiral shell. Tianhu Lake in the northwest, formed in an ancient volcanic crater, is embraced by emerald peaks on three sides. Since the Ming dynasty, locals have practiced the unique "mid-mountain dragon boat" tradition, and today, dragon boat races still take place on the lake during the Dragon Boat Festival. This attraction offers great value for money, and the landscaping is very unique. The farmhouses within the scenic area have a pleasant environment, and there's unlimited access to electric vehicles at each stop. The performance at Tianhu Lake is also a great show; the half-hour performance showcases the hard work and dedication of the performers, which has finally paid off.

We did the blue route. It's a climb uphill while tracing a stream, and it was quite fun when it was hot. But don't choose the jungle roller coaster; it's really not interesting. Hmm.

If I hadn't visited in person, I wouldn't have known there was a water town in Shunde, Guangdong, and that it possessed such a rich and charming atmosphere. Unlike the water towns of Jiangnan, this place felt more distinctly Cantonese, and the relatively low crowds made me feel incredibly peaceful.

We entered from the South Gate. Although there were many people, it wasn't chaotic at all. The signs were very clear, and the staff were very responsible. It was a very enjoyable trip for the kids; Guangzhou is beautiful and delicious. It was our first time seeing a rhinoceros and our first time riding a cable car—a great experience!

It's pretty good, a cozy and charming little place. My child tried pottery making. The price is a bit high, but overall it's okay. Parents who haven't been to similar places before can take their children to experience it!

Dayan Mountain is the most famous tourist attraction in Heshan, Jiangmen. Although the mountain is not very high, the lush vegetation makes the air very fresh. Many citizens come here for morning exercises every day. It is a place frequented by the people of Heshan.

A film and television city located at the foot of Xiqiao Mountain. The scenery is lifelike, very large and shocking, especially the Hong Kong street area, which can be said to be so real that it is the best place to take pictures. The transportation to get there is also convenient, so it is definitely not to be missed if you go to Xiqiao.
