Our local driver-guide, Deanne, led us gracefully through Fiordland National Park, stopping to provide commentary and take photos whenever we saw a beautiful view. My English isn't fluent, but she made communication easy, answering all my questions. Traveling with her not only allowed me to learn about local New Zealand facts (such as birds and housing), but also gave me the opportunity to chat about Eastern and Western cultural topics. The cruise offered drinks and snacks (a few nicely presented desserts and a cheese platter), but it wasn't quite enough to replace lunch. Overall, I really enjoyed the trip.
