Reviews: 1-day Safari Tour to Pilanesberg Park from Johannesburg with Lunch + Transfer

A really great tour. The guides (Sibu and Martin) are excellent. It's a very fun tour. One thing that wasn't so good was the transport from JNB to the Safari; the car is small, if you're taller than 1.80m you'll suffer, the vehicle is cramped and the trip takes about 2h30m each way. Don't expect a big lunch, it's very minimal. As mentioned before, the guides are great, Martin explained everything very well and went out of his way to find the Big Five; we saw 3.

Reviews: Pilanesberg National Park safari from Johannesburg, South Africa (with lunch, transfers and 4x4 game drive)
Guest User2026-03-25
It was quite convenient; they offered pick-up and drop-off services to major locations in the city. Chinese-speaking customer service was available. However, the drivers and receptionists were all Black men. The local tour operator seemed to be one of the larger travel agencies in the area. We saw many foreigners in the park who had also booked their tours through this agency. We saw rhinos, hippos, elephants, giraffes, crocodiles, wildebeest, and zebras in the park. We didn't see any lions, leopards, or other carnivores. We had lunch at a small picnic spot on a hill. We departed at 6 AM and arrived at 6 PM, a full day. Overall, it was a good trip.

Reviews: 1-day tour to Pilanesberg National Park with lunch from Johannesburg, South Africa (from 1 person)

We had to leave before 6 a.m., and the journey was quite long, but the time spent inside the park wasn't compromised at all. We saw many animals, some of which I've never seen even in Kenya. The guide was excellent, spoke basic Chinese, and the price was cheaper than booking locally in Johannesburg. Highly recommended!
