I signed up for eSIM while boarding my flight to Hokkaido. Just install it in the Trip app, keep going, and select the eSIM network – it works right away! I recommend signing up on the device you'll be using for your trip. I traveled for 11 days and had no problems climbing mountains. The signal might have dropped briefly while driving through valleys, but otherwise, it was great and worked everywhere. I used it for maps on days I didn't rent a car (I used the car's map for 7 days after renting). Facebook, Instagram, and YouTube worked perfectly. I used 22GB of 30GB, which was more than enough. But I recommend using Wi-Fi at hotels. In summary, it's great for anyone traveling to Hokkaido, both in and outside the city.★

The internet connection is very smooth. I can watch movies and do other things comfortably. However, it might be a bit slow in areas with poor reception, which is normal. Overall, it's great.
