Our tour guide, Xiao Chen, was lovely and wonderful! There were more places to eat than we expected, and fresh coconuts were available for purchase. The mountain road was a bit bumpy, but that was unavoidable given the environment. There was also a free farm where we could feed the animals, which were very cute. The staff on the boats to see the monkeys and fireflies were all very cheerful. It was a very worthwhile trip!

I think this is a very worthwhile part of Kota Kinabalu; the fireflies are beautiful, and the tour guide is excellent. Aside from the slightly bumpy ride on the main road, there are no other downsides.

Fantastic! The tour guides were all very considerate, helping to watch your bags so you could have a great time. Remember to download the WhatsApp app; the guide will contact you the day before, and you can leave the whole day in their care. The weather was beautiful that day, and they even took us to see the sunset – absolutely gorgeous!

River cruise was relaxing, saw some monkeys, will depend on your luck. Sunset was amazing. Dinner was not as bad as expected. But the fireflies were out of this world.. like fairy lights on an Xmas tree. Guides were very friendly and helpful.

The tour is a must when in KK. You get value for money for all the activities in one package. You get to have a photo stop at the floating mosque, spot proboscis monkeys and other wildlife in the river, chase sunset at the beach, enjoy Malay dinner, and witness fireflies illuminate the night. Two words: Worth It!


