The tour was excellent, but I have two suggestions. It's advertised as lasting 10 hours, but it was only 9 hours and 20 minutes. The time available for lunch is very tight, so I suggest increasing it from 1 hour to 1 hour and 30 minutes. The only part I didn't like was the bus. The seats were extremely cramped, with no comfort whatsoever. A taller person would have a lot of trouble fitting their legs in the available space.

our guide Marcus is so knowledgeable, he made it am amazing experience. We saw quite a bit behind the scenes. We had been on backstage tours before but this is not at all the same. It was fascinating to learn how the design of the Opera House informed the construction to fit in the different performance venues. Breakfast was especially good too! note that the tour description says no cameras but they were allowed, there were just some areas that were strict no-photo zone. We left our coats and a camera bag in the secure closet at the entry point. No need to fret about what you have with you. Almost everything on this backstage tour is different information than the public tour, so we are doing that too. I highly recommend this tour and hope you get Marcus for your guide!

We truly enjoyed seeing the animals up close while still respecting their privacy and space. Our guide was very attentive and considerate. When we mentioned that we didn’t want to do the two-hour hike, he offered alternative options to accommodate us.
