Reviews: Semi-Private 1-Hour Airboat Tour of Miami Everglades

We got to see 3 alligators! This was an excellent way to explore the Everglades. It was short enough so that we could fit it into our busy day but long enough to cover some ground, see some wildlife and learn about the park.

Nice tour in general. They take you to the north part of the Everglades. But most of the people on the bus thought it would be one of the south points. This north part is the tour spot only, it’s not mainly Everlades park, so you won’t see anything special there. It’s just parking lot with a souvenir shop, and boats. Don’t take tours on Friday due to the traffic. We spent 2 hours driving. Our driver/guide was really sorry that it took us so long to get there. He was telling us some facts and stories about the area on the way. Tour on the boat was interesting, airboat it is a funny experience, we saw 3 alligators. Driver stopped at each point for some time so we could have a look. There is a small zoo area near the parking lot. But we didn’t see animals, as it was closed.

Pickup in Downtown Miami was exactly as promised, punctual, and very friendly. The drive to Everglades Holiday Park then took about an hour, but the driver made it wonderfully entertaining. During the airboat tour, our group saw several alligators, and we learned quite a bit about the animals and the Everglades in general. Afterward, there was a demonstration with alligators who, after encounters with humans, were at least lucky enough not to have been shot and now live in this sanctuary. During the demonstration, a student, who said he volunteers at the park and is clearly passionate about alligators, explained a lot to our group, and we were able to ask further questions afterward. Tips are welcome.
