The Tampa Convention Center is also an important convention center in downtown Tampa. It is located next to the mouth of the Hillsborough River. If you walk slowly from the Tampa Riverwalk, you will pass by this large convention center. You can overlook the riverside landscape and the entire city skyline. The Tampa Convention Center was built on the historic site of Fort Brooke, which was the original American outpost established in Tampa Bay in 1824. The outpost was decommissioned by the US Army in 1883, and then the current convention center hall was built. Therefore, the building itself also has a certain sense of history. The convention center was opened to the public in October 1990.
