Built in the Tang Dynasty, damaged by several fires, and rebuilt in the sixth year of the reign of Tongzhi in the Qing Dynasty, Huaguang Building is the landmark of the ancient city in Langzhong. The wooden structure of the Huaguang Building has steep stairs with room for only one person to pass at a time. The stairs squeak as you climb. The view from the top of the building is fantastic, extending to the ancient city. Looking afar, you can see tile houses in front of you and stone roads intertwined with each other.Langzhong · 18.2 km from Cangxi

The Jinping Mountain Scenic Area is in the south suburbs of Langzhong City. The stone wall faces the river. The left side is flat and the right protrudes. Its concave is in the middle, like a saddle, so it is also called Ma'an Mountain or Bao'an Mountain. Every spring day, peaches and pears blossom all over the mountain, so people also call it Flower Mountain. The scenery of Jinping Mountain is so fascinating that many pavilions were built there throughout the ages, including Du Fu Ancestral Hall and Langfeng Pavilion. At the beginning of Jiajing in the Ming Dynasty, Zhang Sicong, the magistrate of Baoning rebuilt Jinping Academy. Taoist Pavilion used to store the classics, and the Three Sages Ancestral Hall is for worshipping the Confucian scholar Zhu Xi. Here, you can also see Linjiang Tower, the three caves and six pavilions.Langzhong · 18.6 km from Cangxi

The Northern Sichuan Daoshu, also known as the Daotai Yamen, was an agency of the provincial government in the Ming and Qing dynasties. During the reign of Emperor Qianlong of the Qing Dynasty, it became a high-level government agency for managing prefectures, states, and counties. The existing ruins and remains of the Langzhong Daotai Yamen were first built in the eighth year of the Yongzheng reign of the Qing Dynasty (1730), and the only building is the ceremonial gate. The main gate, the stone archway, the lobby, the second hall, and the third hall all reproduce the scenes of the Qing Dynasty through real objects and sculptures. The east and west wing rooms of each hall are decorated with cultural connotations according to their original functions. There are more than 20 exhibition rooms and more than 1,000 exhibits of various types. There are also ancient costume live performances such as "The Daotai Trial", which are rare in the country. After the restoration and completion, the Daotai Yamen will be one of the two existing Daotai Yamen in the country, and it has an earlier origin than the Harbin Daoya, which was built during the Guangxu period to manage customs and defense, and has greater local management authority. It will add tourist attractions that showcase the high-level "official morality culture" of the Qing Dynasty to the ancient city of Langzhong, and reproduce the important status of ancient Langzhong as the administrative center of northeastern Sichuan.Langzhong · 17.5 km from Cangxi

For a family-friendly itinerary combined with educational purposes, I recommend entering directly from the West Gate and proceeding to Zhang Fei Temple, Zhongtian Tower, and the Imperial Examination Hall. The time is limited. I joined a guided tour for both Zhang Fei Temple and the Imperial Examination Hall, and it was very rewarding.

It's definitely worth a visit. The all-inclusive ticket is quite cost-effective, and you can easily spend several days there. The commercial model of the ancient town is acceptable. There are many local residents who can experience their way of life, and there are many must-see attractions.

Zhongtian Tower, also known as the Four-row Tower, is one of the twelve towers in Langyuan. It is the Feng Shui coordinate of the ancient city of Langzhong and is known as the "No. 1 Feng Shui Tower in Langzhong". It is located in the center of the ancient city, and the ancient city spreads around it. Compared with Huaguang Tower, it is more magnificent and exquisite. There are many exquisite carvings on its roof and wooden beams. The whole building looks more delicate and more simple.

A must-visit place for checking in at Langzhong Ancient Town. You can go up to the building to overlook the whole town. The stairs inside Huaguang Tower are about 75 degrees, so you need to hold them with both hands and not play with your phone. When we went there, an 86-year-old man insisted on climbing to the top without his family, and the staff escorted him all the way up. Thumbs up for the people of Langzhong

Jinping Mountain is truly a scenic vantage point for Langzhong, a veritable fairyland. The Jialing River gently bends here, cradling Jinping Mountain across the ancient city, creating a superb location: "one side embraced by the river, three sides surrounded by mountains." Like a natural frame, it firmly holds the thousand-year-old splendor of Langzhong Ancient City, offering the best vantage point to overlook this earthly paradise. Standing atop the mountain, a gentle breeze whispers in your ear, and breathtaking scenery unfolds before your eyes: layers upon layers of green-tiled roofs, like frozen waves surging towards the sky. The ancient city's streets and alleys meander like veins, concealing the majesty of the Zhang Fei Temple and the scholarly atmosphere of the Imperial Examination Hall. The Jialing River's shimmering waters reflect the ancient city's image, shattering it in the rippling light. By day, cooking smoke mingles with the clouds, the vibrant atmosphere of the ancient city almost palpable; at dusk, lanterns light up one after another, light and shadow flowing on the river, as if time itself slows down, leaving only a sense of tranquility and bliss.

Langzhong Ancient City is a must-see destination. Long before domestic tourism took off, it was a popular destination. Even those who don't travel often know about it. While it's now infused with modern elements, its ancient charm remains captivating. Langzhong Ancient City remains a vibrant and vibrant place, with local residents still living there. The Northern Sichuan Provincial Office is just one of the attractions, and it's also quite interesting.
