Rajwada Palace
Rajwada Palace, located in Indore, Madhya Pradesh, India, is a symbol of the Holkar dynasty. Built in 1747 by Malhar Rao Holkar, the founder of the Holkar dynasty, the palace is an outstanding example of architectural art that combines Mughal, Maratha and French architectural styles. The palace is a seven-story building, the lower three floors are made of stone, and the upper four floors are made of wood. The whole is rectangular and covers an area of about 2.4 acres. Its architectural features are distinctive, and the huge wooden doors are decorated with exquisite floral patterns and iron spikes, which were once used to prevent elephant attacks. There are beautiful paintings of Hindu gods in the arches, and the stone pillars in the courtyard are beautifully carved. There is also a temple dedicated to the elephant-headed god Ganesh, with a silver door and a gold statue. The Rajwada Palace has witnessed countless historical changes and has been burned down three times. The fire in 1984 reduced the upper four floors to ashes.
