LAO BIAN JIU JIA

I rushed to Taizhou to see the beautiful scenery and taste the delicious food. I found a treasure restaurant called Laobian Restaurant located in Huangyan on various social media. It has excellent reputation and excellent value for money. I checked in directly. The old store has a new shop and the decoration has been upgraded directly. There are half local customers and half tourists on site. You can order on the spot in the ordering area and wait for the dishes to be served. The seafood is really fresh, the signature old duck dumplings have a very unique taste, and the casserole has excellent heat preservation. After paying the bill, it is really cost-effective.

Taizhou's top restaurant, Laobian Restaurant. The restaurant was packed with people when we arrived at dinner time. We waited patiently for an hour to get a seat. However, some ingredients were sold out, so we didn't get to eat some of the dishes we liked, which was a pity. The braised pork was shiny and delicious. Yellow wine was used instead of water to thicken the sauce. The pork belly was fat and lean, soft and glutinous, not greasy or woody. The chestnuts were also soft and tasty. It is definitely a good dish to go with rice. (But the quality of the rice wine is average, and you can taste some sourness in the aftertaste, but overall it is still a good braised pork. Local blue crabs, local home-cooked method. I used to love steamed and blanched crabs, but after coming to Taizhou, I felt the uniqueness of home-cooked crabs. Because the ingredients are fresh enough, the sauce cannot cover up the deliciousness of blue crabs. The roe is yellow and the meat is full. Ninety-one blue crabs are very satisfying. The dumplings in the old duck dumplings do not seem to be the protagonist. Instead, it is the bowls of old duck soup that make people unable to put down their chopsticks. The dumplings were not finished, but the soup was already finished. The mellow old duck soup, with a little fragrance of medicinal materials, is fresh but not greasy. Drinking three bowls in a row is satisfying.

"Sweet and Sour Spare Ribs" Pork ribs without any bones are perfect for me! A large portion! Eat until you are full~ The sweet and sour sauce is a little sweet and I think it is just right~ Taizhou people like to eat ginger spare ribs with a little ginger flavor, which is acceptable. "Spicy Snails" It is so fun to eat snails~ It is so easy to eat a whole pot of snail meat! The sauce is fully flavored and there is no fishy smell~ The snail meat is processed in advance and you don’t have to suck it with your mouth, which may be embarrassing · "Red Bean Cheese Soup" Two people can’t eat one portion! The portion is too large and a lot of it is wasted. The red bean paste is a little sweet and it is sprinkled with sugar osmanthus, which makes it sweeter! The other part is similar to egg pudding and tastes very good~ This dish is still very special.

I went straight to this restaurant after getting off the high-speed train. The font on the plaque at the door has been removed. It is said that it will move to a new address soon. The spiral staircase suddenly opened up. It was a little past the meal time but there were still many people. It is wise to make a reservation in advance. Choose seafood in the open area ️== Choose appetizers in the cold dish area, wait for the waiter to clean up the big table and then take a seat. It is a very lively restaurant. Basically, the dishes ordered are signature dishes. There is a chef or boss who turned out to be Lao Bian. He doesn’t look too old. The service is very enthusiastic. It can be said that he is the most enthusiastic chef I have ever seen. [Honey Sweet Potato] The red heart potato becomes more delicate and soft after being candied. It tastes sweet but not greasy when scooped with a small spoon. The sweetness is well controlled. [Black Juice Cuttlefish] Cuttlefish slices are seasoned with cuttlefish ink, without fishy smell. The cuttlefish slices taste very chewy. Some chopped green onions are sprinkled on top for coloring, and the taste is quite delicious. [Sweet and Sour Spare Ribs] Different from the sweet and sour spare ribs in my impression, the ribs are wrapped in batter and fried, which is not very greasy. Then dip them in the sweet and sour sauce. If you like to eat dry and fragrant ones, you don’t need to dip them in sauce. Dipping them in the sweet and sour spare ribs tastes very good. [Spicy Snails] Kung Fu dishes, the snails are all hand-beaten and crushed, presenting irregular shapes, and there is no bitter part. The details are handled very well. The snail meat is very chewy and a little spicy, which is appetizing and refreshing. [Home-cooked Tofu] The tofu is dipped in brine. The tofu retains the bean fragrance it should have. It is older than tender tofu, but it is much more tender than old tofu. This scale is just right. It is said that there are two places in Taizhou that produce particularly good tofu. I didn’t listen carefully, but I feel that it is not easy to make simple ingredients delicious. Recommended. [Pipi Shrimp] Live Pipi Shrimp can be boiled with pepper and salt. The pepper and salt are crispy, and the boiled ones taste the original flavor. I prefer the original flavor. It takes some skills to peel them. After learning, you will get a new skill~! [Old Duck Dumplings] Soup is the staple food. The dumplings are probably duck meat. There is indeed diced duck meat in the soup. It is not fishy and has the taste of medicinal food. It is not strong but feels very nourishing. After eating 2, I had another 2. How much I like to eat pasta. The soup is very fresh~, and I don’t feel dry after drinking it. [Pigeon Peach Gum] A sweet soup for beauty and moisturizing. The highlight is a warm pigeon egg in the middle. The sweetness is moderate and suitable for girls. [Red Bean Cheese Soup] It is made into the shape of Yin and Yang Bagua, half red beans and half cheese, slightly sweet, with a layer of sugar osmanthus on top, and the cheese part is very dense. A store with excellent cost performance and service. If there is a chance, I will go to the new address again. The first store in Taichung is a success~!

Don't be scared by the black ink of the cuttlefish, it's just black in color, not fishy or smelly, the cuttlefish meat is thick and full, very soft and sticky. The Maggi prawns have a good sauce, the shrimp meat is chewy, and the sweet and salty taste is just right.
