Delgattie Estate
4.7/531 Reviews
This a private place with 4 suites. No one is on site so you need to time your arrival with them. We got off on the wrong foot as we arrived earlier and there was a time change on our drive that we were unaware of. They were lovely and patient and we loved our suite which was huge, with a sitting room and bathroom with a tub and lovely amenities. This is not really a boutique hotel as advertised but more like an house - there was a big kitchen, a laundry room and a pool table upstairs. The breakfast hamper was wonderful! Delivered when we asked for it and included all kinds of amazing goodies. Wish we could have stayed another night but we were just passing through.
Comfort Inn the Lakes
4.1/528 Reviews
After coming to Melbourne from Melbourne to visit the Great Ocean Road, most people choose to return to Melbourne. We choose to drive all the way to Mount Gambier. There are blue lakes and cave gardens in Gambier. Because there are few tourists in the spring, the hotel stays. Not much. Every room in the hotel has its own parking space, don't worry, the room is relatively large, and the face of the road will not be very noisy. From the town center and the Blue Lake, the cave hotel is about 5-10 minutes drive, eat and There are a lot of gas stations in the town center, and it is convenient to choose this hotel by car.
Southgate Motel
4/545 Reviews
The hotel environment is small and fresh, the room is very large, and the sanitation is very good. Because the staff at the front desk in the evening need to press the Ling to get out, I feel that there are not many people staying in the hotel. It is very convenient to have a supermarket and a gas station. Driving from the Ganbell Blue Lake is ten. minute.
The Barn Accommodation
4.5/5120 Reviews
The Barn Hotel and Steak 🥩 house is around 10 Minutes out of Mount Gambier town, we arrived there from Port Fairy and had booked a 1 bed room / suite. We choose to stay here on our Road trip for 1 night, and also eat at the barn steak restaurant, as apparently the food is to die for. On arrival we were greeted by a very friendly receptionist who explained where our room was and how to get to it, a couple of minutes drive away to a row of converted barns. The terraced apartment was very spacious, clean and fresh, it had all we needed for a short stay, very comfortable bed, ample room, a medium size fridge. Free parking was right outside. The bathroom comprised of both bath and walk in rain shower with ample toiletries. Outside was a small garden area with seating. Back in the main building there was a small comfortable bar area which lead on to the restaurant. The menu is dominated with various steak 🥩 dish’s, we choose to avoid starters as looking at the plates of the other dinners we certainly wouldn’t have done justice to the main meal. This came up excellently presented, the steak 🥩 I had was probably the best I had ever eaten. It’s not cheap, nor is it too expensive either compared to the food dished up in the UK. If I lived within 50 miles of this place it would most definitely be a restaurant I would frequent at least once a month.
Colhurst House
4.4/545 Reviews
My wife and I recently stayed at the Colhurst House, a beautiful and charming accommodation conveniently situated near Mount Gambier's city center. The location proved to be ideal, within walking distance of various shops and restaurants. The room itself was pleasant and well-maintained, complete with the added perk of a tea and Nespresso coffee machine. While my overall experience was positive, I regretfully cannot award the hotel a perfect 5-star rating due to some issues encountered during the check-in process. After a long and tiring drive, the anticipation of a seamless check-in was dashed when we arrived and found no one at the reception desk. It turned out that the hotel had tried to contact me earlier, but since I had an international number, they were unable to reach me over the phone. A simple email or phone call (or whatapp number) with check in instructions would have alleviated this situation. Unfortunately, the situation escalated when my email to the hotel went unanswered for more than 30 minutes. Frustrated, I had no choice but to make an expensive international call, which eventually resolved the matter. Thankfully, a kind staff member promptly arrived to assist with the check-in process after the call. Another minor inconvenience was the absence of details regarding the Wi-Fi password in the room. A straightforward sign with this information would have resolved the issue without any hassle. Once again, I resorted to sending an email for the password but, disappointingly, received no response. This forced me to make another call, urgently requesting a reply to my email.
Clarendon Chalets
4.2/515 Reviews
Perfect Country Escape, only minutes away from the conveniences of My Gambier but it feels like it is worlds away, wake to the calls of the birdlife, a short stroll along the road and you’ll see all of Ol’ McDonalds Farm Animals. A perfect home base for exploring the Limestone Coast, or to simply unplug from the world while watching the fire burn with a cuppa
