Amongst the city’s modern architecture and congested roads, there is still a plethora of ruins and historical monuments.Located in the south-central part of the province, Xi’an has the Qinling Mountains to the South and the Weihe River to the North. There are 11 urban districts in total, with Beilin District being the city center where famous landmarks are located like the Bell Tower and the City Wall; to the west is Lianhu District, a residential and commercial area with luxury hotels and is popular amongst business travelers. Around the center districts, visitors can find Xincheng District with a quieter environment and many shopping options; and Yanta District where several universities are located together with another cluster of top attractions like the Giant Wild Goose Pagoda.Formerly known as Changan, Xi’an has been the seat of the capital for 1200 years covering 13 dynasties. Great Tang All Day Mall: Go after 7 PM to see the lights and performances. If you can't finish watching the performances in one night, you can go for two nights.
Mount Hua: Bring your ID card. Best to visit in spring and summer, ascend from the West Peak and descend from the North Peak.
Xi'an City Wall: Go in the evening to see the sunset, don't miss the performance at Yongning Gate.
Giant Wild Goose Pagoda: Take photos below the pagoda.
Bell Tower / Drum Tower: You don't need to buy tickets to go upstairs, the best photo spot is opposite the Bell Tower at Kaiyuan Mall.

After three trips to Xi'an,
I have summarized this super detailed 3-day and 2-night guide.
Friends who want to come recently, hurry up and save it!
Especially friends departing from Chengdu, highly recommend 🚅, very convenient.
✔️Day1
Morning: Chengdu 🚅 Xi'an, arrive at the hotel at noon, start citywalk in the afternoon to check in at Xi'an Dazibao, and see the night view of the Bell Tower.
It is recommended to book a hotel near the Bell Tower, as it is very convenient to travel by subway. After arriving at the hotel at noon and resting for a while, start walking around to check in at various Xi'an Dazibao walls and landmarks.
After dinner, go to the fifth floor of Kaiyuan Mall to see the night view of the bustling Bell Tower.
✔️Day2
Guangren Temple - Big Wild Goose Pagoda - Xiangzi Temple - Yongning Gate City Wall - Great Tang All Day Mall
Be sure to get up early to go to Guangren Temple to take pictures of the red walls and white pagoda, as there are not many people at this time.
Next, go to Joy City. You don't need to enter the Big Wild Goose Pagoda; you can take photos with the pagoda from outside.
After lunch, it is recommended to go back to the hotel to rest for a while, and then come out for a citywalk in the afternoon.
Citywalk route: Xiangzi Temple Street ➡️ Defu Lane ➡️ Shuyuanmen, the scenery along the way is beautiful, with ancient walls and old trees complementing each other, giving a strong sense of history.
There are many people at Yongning Gate City Wall, and it is very hot, so it is recommended to go later to watch the sunset from the city wall.

Leisurely museum tour: Anrenfang Ruins Exhibition Hall and Shaanxi Art Museum
If you want to understand the history of the ancient capital Chang'an, you must not miss the museums.
We went to the Anrenfang Ruins Exhibition Hall and the Shaanxi Art Museum. Each museum has its own merits. Personally, I prefer Anrenfang, as it is very photogenic, and the design inside is great. If I have the chance, I would like to visit the Xi'an Museum next time. Remember to make reservations in advance for the museums.
About accommodation:
It is recommended to choose a hotel near the Bell Tower first, as it is very convenient to go to the attractions.
About food:
Lamb paomo, biangbiang noodles, oil-splashed noodles, roujiamo... There are really too many delicious foods in Shaanxi, and they are all quite heavy in flavor!

You must visit Xi'an at least once. Chang'an, as the ancient capital of thirteen dynasties, is a city that I have always loved. This Westin Hotel located in the Qujiang Tourism Center is simply a super treasure hotel! Don't miss it.

The hotel is very beautiful, with an overall design that perfectly blends modern Chinese and Han-Tang styles. It is stylish and simple yet elegant and grand. Additionally, the hotel has uniquely built a museum with over 2000 exquisite artifacts, which is truly impressive.

The hotel's several restaurants are also quite good. The buffet at the Western restaurant is very sumptuous, highly recommended for breakfast! There's also a Japanese restaurant with an all-you-can-eat menu that offers great value for money. Additionally, the Chinese restaurant serves authentic Shaanxi cuisine in a nice environment, worth a try. Lastly, the hotel's executive lounge offers an amazing view, directly overlooking the Giant Wild Goose Pagoda.

The design style is very Chinese, and the rooms have a distinct Xi'an character. Especially the Westin's Heavenly Bed, which is super comfortable! Moreover, the hotel's public areas are great for photography. The atrium is beautiful, and the palace lanterns on the first floor and the outdoor garden are perfect for taking pictures. Photography enthusiasts can spend a whole day here taking beautiful photos! Additionally, the rooms offer direct views of the Giant Wild Goose Pagoda. The hotel's museum on the B2 floor is free for hotel guests to visit, so be sure to check it out.

🏨 The Terracotta Army of Emperor Qin Shi Huang's Mausoleum
❤Recommended Reason:
When in Xi'an, everyone wants to see one of the world's eight wonders, the Terracotta Army. The talents from the south and the generals from the north, the yellow earth of Shaanxi buries the emperor. Just finished visiting the Museum of the Terracotta Warriors and Horses and here to share some tips!
🚉Transport Strategy:
Take the direct bus from the front of the Vienna Hotel near the Big Wild Goose Pagoda, which costs 30 RMB per person.
🗓Itinerary:
After the first ticket check to enter the Museum of the Terracotta Warriors and Horses, there is an electric cart on the left-hand side (5 RMB/person), which I personally do not recommend as it requires waiting in a long line!
It takes about ten minutes to walk to the second ticket check. After passing the second check, you will directly reach the site of Pit No.1.
The last part of the route passes by the Mausoleum of Emperor Qin Shi Huang. Here you can only get off and not on. After getting off, you have to walk back to the entrance of the visitor center (the guide will also remind you).
Electric cart route:
Starting point → Acrobatic Figurines Pit (Exhibition Hall k9901) → Bronze Chariot and Horse Pit → Civil Official Figurines Pit (Exhibition Hall k0006) → Endpoint
After visiting the Terracotta Army, there is a long commercial street to walk down, which takes about 15 minutes. At the end is the statue of Emperor Qin Shi Huang, and opposite the statue is the shuttle bus to Lishan Garden!
Suggested visiting order inside the museum: Pit No.1 — Pit No.3 — Pit No.2
Pit No.1: Quite spectacular and was the first to be discovered
Pit No.3: Smaller, serves as the command post
Pit No.2: Has a separate glass case displaying five representative terracotta warriors, including the 'Treasure of the Museum' - the kneeling archer that resembles the map of Shaanxi!

The overall architectural style is that of a Chinese garden, designed by the famous architect Mr. Zhang Jinqiu. The garden features free-range peacocks and magpies, as well as pavilions, verandas, warm pavilions, stone bridges, and more, with clear ponds filled with swimming koi. Wearing traditional costumes for photos in the garden is especially striking, as if you were in the Tang Dynasty, with ginkgo, red maple, and willow branches creating a beautiful interplay of colors, and various plants displaying their most beautiful hues in autumn.

Park Transport🚞: Single bike 20r/h, Tandem bike 40r/h, Family bike 60r/h, Four-person electric assist bike 120r/h, Deposit 200r (basically, it takes about 1 hour to cycle around), Sightseeing car 30r/person for a round trip

1️⃣To the right of the entrance of Xianghuwan Metro Station, there's a large lawn that looks like a wilderness with some very artistic trees🌲, a super popular spot for wedding photos👰
2️⃣To the left front of the lawn, there's a forest with a large patch of pink roses🌺, which are blooming perfectly right now
3️⃣Cross the long bridge over the lake to the front of the conference center, where you can take photos of the lake view, flowing water, and the distant Chang'an Tower🛕
4️⃣Continue along the road in front of the conference center, on the left side of the road facing the Treasure Museum, there's a large willow tree, reminiscent of the hawthorn tree from the movie 'Under the Hawthorn Tree', and it's also very beautiful
5️⃣Walking towards the front of the Treasure Museum leads to Chang'an Garden, and further ahead to the edge of the main road, you're basically at the outer wall of the Expo Park, where there's a long rose wall that extends all the way to the Roman Town, with hardly anyone there, no need to queue, and you can take photos however you want📸
6️⃣Continue along the main road, there are many small scenic spots along the way that are also great for taking photos
7️⃣Roman Town, with its churches and castles🏰, is perfect for taking beautiful photos, no need to say much, there are super many fairies taking photos, and it's very photogenic
8️⃣Finally, there's the ancient Greek garden⛲️🏜️, with fountains and everything looking so good. We just rode past here and didn't stop to take photos, which is a bit of a pity😔

Just returned from Xi'an, I'm here to share with you full of experiences and some anecdotes!
🕒 Remember the opening hours of the attractions:
- Bell Tower & Drum Tower: 30 yuan per person, open from 8:30 to 18:00 (combined ticket 50 yuan)
- Xi'an City Wall: 54 yuan per person, from early 8 am to 10 pm, book 7 days in advance
- Shaanxi History Museum: Free admission but must book 3 days in advance, closed on Mondays, tickets released on the hour every day
- Big Wild Goose Pagoda: 30 yuan per person, from 9 am to 5:30 pm, available for online booking at any time
- Tang Paradise: 120 yuan per person, there is a light show at 8 pm, also need to book one week in advance
- Terracotta Warriors: 120 yuan per person, open from 8:30 to 18:00, including Lishan Garden, reservation as above
- Huaqing Palace: 120 yuan per person, from 7:30 am to 5:30 pm
- The Song of Everlasting Sorrow Show: Book early, half a month before the peak season, and 7 days before the off-season
- Mount Hua: Book 10 days in advance for climbing, the total cost of ticket + cable car + shuttle bus is 420 yuan
🧳 Tips:
- Be sure to book in advance before holidays, the earlier the better! The same goes for joining a tour group!
- Don't go up the city wall from the South Gate, you'll regret it, because the front is the holy place for check-ins!
- For the Bell Tower and Drum Tower, don't waste money going up, the railing of Kaiyuan Mall opposite is the prime spot for photos!
- Just look around at the bottom of the Big Wild Goose Pagoda, there's nothing on top!
- Wear a pair of comfortable flat shoes, you can easily walk twenty thousand steps in a day!
- Ignore street hustlers, be careful with your valuables!
- Choose accommodations near the subway line of Bell Tower and Drum Tower for good value!
- Don't buy Lantian jade in the shopping street behind the Terracotta Warriors, most are fakes!
- Bring your student ID, don't miss the half-price discounts at attractions!
