How to Deal with Railway Strikes in the UK? 🇬🇧
In the UK, train and subway strikes are very common. If you are planning to travel to the UK, here are some tips to help you deal with strikes and minimize the impact on your travel plans:
✅ Stay updated on strike updates and adjust your plans accordingly: Prioritize staying informed about strike schedules, even planned ones, as they can be rescheduled or canceled closer to the date. Keep an eye on real-time information from train stations. If the app is not updated, confirm with station staff whether the train has been canceled – you can even ask in Chinese!👨
✅ Apply for ticket exchange or refund in case of strikes:
If your train is canceled or delayed due to a strike, seek assistance from station staff. In most cases, they can arrange for you to travel on another train operated by the same company.
✅ If you choose not to continue your journey:
In the booking app, go to "My Reservations" and select "Refund." Choose "Train Cancellation" as the reason for refunding.
In addition, here are a few more tips to better deal with railway strikes in the UK:
✅ Plan your trip in advance:
Try to choose non-strike days for your travels to avoid unnecessary trouble. If you have multiple travel dates to choose from, leave some flexibility to adjust your itinerary in case of a strike.
✅ Consider alternative modes of transportation:
If railway strikes significantly impact your journey, consider other modes of transportation such as long-distance buses, taxis, or bike-sharing to reach your destination. Make sure to book alternative transportation in advance to secure seats.
✅ Explore alternative routes:
If your destination has multiple train stations, try departing from or arriving at a different station. Sometimes, trains operated by different companies may not be affected by the strike, so adjusting your route can help you avoid strike areas.
✅ Consider flexible accommodation arrangements:
If your itinerary is delayed or changed due to a strike, you may need to adjust your accommodation

✅ Anti-theft article
Always remember to bring a mobile phone lanyard when you go to London! It can greatly reduce the probability of being stolen my friend and I did not encounter thieves throughout the whole process ~
⚠️ suggest hanging a mobile phone lanyard ➕ dumpling bag in front of the body, it will be much safer!
⚠️ Keep an eye on everything you own. There are a lot of thieves out there!
⚠️ don't recommend carrying a backpack 🎒 easy to be stolen! Crossbody bags should also be in front of you to be ok
⚠️ Remember the fanny pack must be carried in front of you the whole time, once you go to the side or the back it can be dangerous!!!!
⚠️ pay special attention to not use the mobile phone should also be held firmly, or may end up with only empty phone case
⚠️ usually go out with only mobile phone lanyard, mobile phone, charging treasure, bank card, sunglasses lipstick sunscreen, etc., and student card
⚠️ In short, watch your mobile phone, bag and bank card throughout London! It's easy to lose things!
This trip to London has come to a successful end, the big city ➕ capital is really worth a visit! London has a lot of things that Edinburgh doesn't have, but the overall pace of the city is much faster than Edinburgh! Both cities are beautiful, long-lost bustle vs. quaint serenity, each with their own characteristics ✨.

🇬🇧 Tips for train travel in the UK!🚄
1⃣ Any seat/coach: It's normal for train tickets in the UK to not have assigned seats, so you can sit anywhere.
2⃣ Rail replacement: If the train service is closed/canceled due to railway maintenance, train faults, accidents, or strikes, you can temporarily take a replacement bus 🚌 for your journey.
3⃣ Counted place: Your ticket has a designated seat, but without an actual seat number. 🇬🇧 Train seats can be a bit puzzling, but you can actually sit in any available seat.
4⃣ Split ticket: Splitting a ticket means dividing it into two. 🌰: For example, a Birmingham➡Manchester ticket originally costs £40, but the platform algorithm recognizes that a Birmingham➡Trent➡Manchester ticket only costs £30. This generates a more cost-effective split ticket.
5⃣ Overtaken: This train journey may be slower than the regular trains on the same route because it might make more stops at smaller stations. Therefore, the price is cheaper compared to the regular trains, but the travel time is longer.
6⃣ Super off-peak: Super off-peak is a less busy time period, usually from 10:00 to 15:30 and after 19:15 on weekdays, as well as on weekends and bank holidays.
7⃣ Off-peak Single: A one-way ticket valid for any off-peak train on the date shown on the ticket, usually from 9:30 to 16:00 and after 19:00 on weekdays.
8⃣ Off-peak Day Return: Outward and return journeys must be made on the same date shown on the ticket and must be taken on off-peak trains.
9⃣ Off-peak Return (different from the previous one‼): A return ticket for the same day on any off-peak train. The outward journey must be on the date shown on the ticket, and the return journey must be within one month.
1⃣0⃣ Open return: Unlimited travel within one month. The return date can be any day within one month from the departure date. You can get off at any station between the departure and destination.
1⃣1⃣ Advance: Cheaper than regular tickets, but you must travel on a specific train at a specific time. You can book it up to 12 weeks in advance.
⚠️Tickets are non-refundable.

Detailed 3-day, 2-night experience on Scotland's Isle of Skye, per person cost over 2k+
🌈Seeing many people share how beautiful the Isle of Skye is, I really wanted to go! Giving a shoutout to the Isle of Skye because it's truly beautiful! 💯Studying in the UK, you really should visit at least once! It's free, wild, and primitive, and you don't need to interact with humans, haha, with its main attractions being the natural landscapes and fewer people. 💗

‼️Tour dates
⏰December: 2, 5, 9, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 20, 21, 30, 31
⏰January: 1, 2, 3, 6, 9, 13, 16, 23

💜Tips: Be sure to wear thick rainproof and waterproof clothes and outdoor shoes. The rain comes without warning, and umbrellas are completely useless, blown away leaving your face in tears. You can experience eight seasons in one day, and for girls, wearing leggings is the most appropriate, as they are convenient for travel and photo-taking.
-
🌟Group tour experience:
I think the itinerary is very worthwhile, 👀because it almost passes through most of the attractions of the Scottish Highlands and the Isle of Skye, which my classmates didn't get with the Chinese tour group! (Each place has a 15-20 minute stop, with longer stops at major attractions. Departing at 8:30 am and returning to the accommodation by 6:30 pm, with pick-up and drop-off, which is very convenient) The most memorable part was that the driver also took us to touch the Highland cows, which were super cute. 💗

Many people have beautiful fantasies about Cambridge because of this poem🉑

👇The itinerary recommended by the editor this time is a day trip to Cambridge departing from London! Feel the charm of knowledge!

🔎Recommended attractions
📍Corpus Clock, on the street outside the Taylor Library of Corpus Christi College, University of Cambridge, you can overlook King‘s Parade
·

·
📍Apple Tree, growing outside the entrance of Trinity College, Newton first saw an apple falling from the tree here
·
📍Cam River Boat, coming to the historic Cambridge, taking a wooden boat to tour the Cam River is the best choice.

Scotland 4-day tour itinerary! Edinburgh + Highland New Year's guide
Scotland Highland | Highland
The highlands are vast and sparsely populated, completely different from England. The scenery in England is mostly pastoral and gentle, while the scenery in the Scottish Highlands is desolate, rugged and magnificent. 🌬️Even the wind has a taste of freedom💗 The Scottish Highlands can be said to be suitable for travel all year round, and it is also the location of countless magical blockbusters! Especially in winter, the Scottish Highlands with snow as the background are even more poignant and magnificent!
-
🚗Transportation
❗️The distance between the attractions in the highlands is relatively long, it is recommended to drive or join a group~ The weather in the highlands is unpredictable, everyone must check the weather forecast and prepare rain gear! 👇If you plan to go to Scotland, you must not miss this itinerary. If you are short on time, you can join a group like us. But if you have plenty of time, I recommend driving, especially Loch Ness, you can stay there for one night, it's really too beautiful✌️

Day 2⃣️: Luss Town—Loch Lomond—Glencoe Gorge—Three Sisters Mountain—Fort William—Ben Nevis Peak—Glenfinnan Bridge
Day 3⃣️: Full day tour of Edinburgh & New Year's Eve
Day 4⃣️: York (York Cathedral—"Diagon Alley" Meat Shop Street—Ancient City Wall—Betty's Tea Room)
-
⛳Recommended attractions in the Scottish Highlands
1️⃣Windermere Lake District
The scenery here has a kind of "lakeside school" poet's charm, and the lake district under the sunset has a bit more tenderness, feeling that you can sit by the lake and stare at the swans and lake water for a long time.
The lake district is not big, it takes about an hour to stroll around.
.
2️⃣Highland Tour
Glencoe Gorge🚌Harry Potter Train🚌Loch Ness + Three Sisters Mountain
Experienced the typical rainy weather in the highlands,
🚞The Glenfinnan Viaduct is the location of the Hogwarts Express, and there is only a steam train from May to September every year
🦕If you have read the story of the Loch Ness Monster since you were a child, you will be a little excited, and you are full of curiosity about this mysterious black lake.
.
3⃣️One-day tour of Edinburgh
It is worthy of being the "Northern Athens" of the Scottish capital. The combination of medieval classics and modernity has a strong sense of story. No wonder it is the source of inspiration for many authors.
.
4⃣️York🚌
Supermarket bars and Chinese food Diagon Alley also have shops open, very Christmas atmosphere

Go to White Cliffs in southern England|||Today's weather is really great, the sun is shining all day, more than the past half month.
Brighton is just too beautiful 🥹.
Route:
1️⃣Train to Brighton
2️⃣From the train station, walk about 200 meters and take bus 12/12X/13X. You can buy a day pass for 5.5 pounds on the Brighten Hove App, which is highly recommended for this bus route! The scenery along the coast is really beautiful all the way, and it is suggested to sit on the right side of the second floor.
3️⃣Get off at East Dean and walk 20 minutes to the entrance of the scenic area. The walking route is also very beautiful, and you can see many Shaun the Sheep 🤣.
Bill’s Restaurant
tried out bill’s restaurant and I really love the food here! happened to walked past and discovered this gem, and it was a truly wonderful experience.
for sides, ordered a calamari and chicken skewers and they were both equally good. calamari was really crispy and chicken was tender. both were priced at 6.50 pounds each.
for mains, ordered the sea bass and chicken and mushroom. it was really fresh, and they were about 15 pounds each. lastly, also ordered some hot chocolate and it was really chocolatey and good.
the staff were friendly and food were served quite quickly. overall happy and nice experience. recommended.
How much water do you drink? I really need to drink more during the day, especially in the morning as that’s when I tend to rush around and forget to stop and rehydrate. I get really thirsty in the evening but don’t want to drink too much before bed, then I wake up totally parched. I don’t think that’s a good sign! Maybe I should drink a glass of water every time I check my phone - that would definitely increase my intake 😄 Happy Thursday! 🌿✨🤍💫🌿
#themepark#zoo#nationalpark#lakes
I keep writing, deleting, rewriting and redeleting my caption today - I’m overthinking! The problem is that most of my thoughts are either really heavy or utterly banal, I don’t seem to have anything in between 😅 So for now I’ll just wish you a lovely day - hope it’s a good one for you all! Happy Tuesday everyone 🌿🌷🤍🌷🌿

Most iconic sights of London
One of the most iconic sights of London.
I'd highly recommend taking the time to go up onto the glass walkway and then visit the engine rooms.
The lift was out of service so we climbed the 206 steps up to the glass walkway!
It's a great experience standing on a glass floor and looking down on the traffic crossing the bridge below. Also, the views are very good and the whole experience is excellent value for money.
#themepark#nationalpark#lakes
Friendly helpful staff
A must see if your in London. Easy to book online and good value for money. Lifts available if needed. Friendly helpful staff available giving stories about the bridge and its history. Fantastic views at the top and for the brave you can walk across the glass Bridge at the top. Engine room included in the ticket price. Fun for children and adults.
#themepark#nationalpark#lakes
