How to Plan the Perfect Road Trip on Highway 1?
Highway 1 (also known as California State Route 1) is one of the most scenic roads in the world. It winds along the California coastline, passing through many famous natural landscapes and tourist attractions. Highway 1 starts in Mendocino County in Northern California and extends south to Dana Point in Orange County, covering more than 650 miles (about 1,050 km). It passes through many beautiful towns and cities, including San Francisco, Monterey, Carmel, and Santa Barbara. Here are some highlights of Highway 1:
1. Golden Gate Bridge
Highway 1 passes over the Golden Gate Bridge when leaving San Francisco. This world-famous orange suspension bridge is a landmark of San Francisco, connecting the city with Marin County. You can walk or cycle on the bridge and enjoy the stunning views of San Francisco Bay.
2. Half Moon Bay
Located south of San Francisco, Half Moon Bay is known for its beautiful beaches and rich agricultural landscape. Visitors can watch surfers here or enjoy local food at the town's farmers' market.
3. Big Sur
Big Sur is one of the most iconic natural attractions on Highway 1. Its cliffs face the Pacific Ocean, offering spectacular views. The Big Sur area also has national parks such as Pfeiffer Big Sur State Park, where you can hike, camp, and admire the beautiful redwood forests.
4. Monterey and Carmel-by-the-Sea
Cannery Row and the Monterey Bay Aquarium are popular attractions in Monterey. The 17-Mile Drive near Monterey is a famous road trip route on Highway 1, connecting Monterey with the beautiful town of Carmel, known for its artistic atmosphere and unique architecture.
5. Hearst Castle
Located in San Simeon, Hearst Castle is the mansion of American newspaper magnate William Hearst. This castle-like building contains a rich collection of art and exquisite decorations, making it well worth a visit.
6. Santa Barbara
Known as the "American Riviera," Santa Barbara has charming Spanish-style architecture and sunny beaches, making it one of the most attractive cities along Highway 1.
Best Time to Visit
Highway 1 is suitable for road trips all year round, but the best seasons are spring and fall due to the pleasant weather and beautiful scenery. There are more tourists in summer, and the roads may be crowded, while the southern California section may have sea fog in winter, so drive carefully.
A road trip on Highway 1 from San Francisco is an adventure full of breathtaking scenery. Whether you're a nature lover, photographer, or cultural explorer, you'll find amazing experiences on this road.

Stanford Day Tour | Visited the alma mater of Gu Ailing
🎓 A friend's alma mater is different! 🏛️
🕒 Everyone says 30min is enough for a simple tour of Stanford
🏞️ But you can actually spend a whole day here
📸 Must-visit spots:
🔴 Climb the Hoover Tower (p2, p3
Finally open for climbing, the top floor is actually a bell tower, where you can overlook Stanford from multiple angles 🌇
Don't forget to visit the simple museum on the next floor, which has some interesting content that you can't see or are not allowed to see in China 🏛️
But the perspective seems very self-centered 😅
🔴 Classic corridor (p4, p5
Stanford classic corridor photo. Everyone must have one, it's such a classic photo spot 📸
(I was touring alone, and it was an i-person day, so I didn't get the classic corridor photo0 😢
🔴📚 Stanford Bookstore (p8
A treasure trove around Stanford University
👕👜📚 All kinds of clothes, cups, backpacks and even pet supplies with the Stanford University logo, as well as co-branded items from Lululemon, are available. I bought a Stanford toy ball for my friend's dog, let's see if it will become smart! 🐕
🧐 Btw, the bookstore also sells mineral water with the iconic Stanford building printed on it... it's quite interesting to take pictures, the taste of the water, well, it's just water (p9
🔴 🏫 Stanford Business School (optional)
Experience the style of GSB 🎒
By the way, see where the recently popular boss Zhou Shouzi has stayed 😄
🎉 Unique experiences:
1⃣️ 🚲 Rent a bike for a campus ride (p10): There are places on campus where you can rent bicycles, the entire campus is really big, you can consider renting a bike to ride slowly and stroll around 🚲
2⃣️ 💦 Fountain diving (p11): Old union at Stanford, just across from the bookstore, the courtyard architecture is like traveling through Italy. There is a Fountain in the courtyard, if you don't mind, jump into the fountain pool and play with the water! Chill Day! 🏞️
3⃣️ 🎓 Return to campus life: (If it's the weekend) (and without disturbing others) Find a classroom to experience the feeling of returning to campus?! Sitting in the law school classroom, I felt inexplicably happy! 📚
🍴 Eating:
Not many restaurants are open on weekends 🍽️
Finally ate at the Food Court in Coho 🍲
Very rich, Starbucks, Panda Express, Subway and so on are all available ☕🍛🥗
I love Panda Express, it's cheap and delicious! 🐼🍔

Hoover Tower
Hoover tower is an amazing place with a fantastic atmosphere for both students and people simply looking to explore. Hoover tower in particular has a very interesting story about it.
Hoover tower is a must visit if you are at stanford campus. It has an amazing view of the whole university and if the weather is clear it will be a very good idea to go anjoy the view. Bear in mind that there is an entrance fee to go to the top.
The stairs in front of Stanford Memorial Auditorium building are a great spot for pictures with the tower and the fountain. The history aspect was very interesting as well. The staff were super friendly and helpful and had a ton of knowledge about the tower and its history.

Silicon Valley has nearby top American universities with strong research capabilities as its support.
The main location characteristic of Silicon Valley is that it has some of the top American universities with strong scientific research capabilities nearby as its support, mainly including Stanford University and UC Berkeley, as well as several other universities in the University of California system and Santa Clara University. [1][6-8] Structurally, Silicon Valley is based on a group of high-tech small and medium-sized companies, while also having large companies such as Google, Facebook, HP, Intel, Apple, Cisco, Nvidia, Oracle, Silicon Valley California Tesla, Yahoo, etc., integrating science.
In the interplay between classical and modern, there is a strong cultural and academic atmosphere.
"Ultimately, life is about practicality. You are here to seek a useful career for yourselves. However, you should also understand that this must include a desire for innovation and progress, good design, and the effort to ultimately make it a reality."
"The wind of freedom always blows" is the motto of Stanford University. According to its president's explanation, the meaning of the motto is to encourage and ensure that students and faculty can engage in teaching and related academic research freely and unimpeded.
Stanford University's buildings are all made of yellow bricks and red tiles, stable and uniform, all in the style of 17th century Spanish mission churches - unlike the buildings of Harvard and Yale universities, which are from different eras and have different styles, and even less like the ivy-covered walls of Northeastern universities. Upon entering the university, the first thing you see is the red-roofed buildings surrounded by tan stone walls, with arches connecting and rows of palm trees, full of rich cultural and academic atmosphere in the interplay of classical and modern.

🏫Stanford University, located in the Bay Area of California, was founded in 1885 and began formal enrollment in 1891. It covers an area of about 33 square kilometers (8180 acres) and is one of the largest universities in the United States in terms of land area.
🏫Stanford University consists of seven schools, four of which offer undergraduate and graduate programs, while the other three are purely graduate schools. Graduate programs include top-ranked schools of education, engineering, law, medicine, and business.
🏫Most of the buildings at Stanford University are 17th-century Spanish mission-style architecture with yellow bricks and red tiles. The overall architectural image of Stanford University can be said to be synonymous with the revival of Spanish architecture: red tile roofs, gray walls, and characteristic colonnades that can be seen at every corner.
🏫Entering Stanford University, the first thing you see is the red-roofed buildings surrounded by tan stone walls, with arches connecting them and rows of palm trees. It is full of rich cultural and academic atmosphere in the interplay of classical and modern styles.
🏫The Main Quad is located at the center of Stanford, surrounded by the School of Business, School of Earth Sciences, School of Education, School of Engineering, School of Law, School of Medicine, and more.
🏫Standing in the square is Rodin's representative group sculpture "The Burghers of Calais", showcasing Rodin's superb artistic skills with profound expression in this sculpture.
🏫In the iconic buildings of Stanford University, the Hoover Tower was built to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the founding of Stanford, and to commemorate the great contribution of then US President Hoover to the construction of the school.
🏫Stanford Memorial Church is the earliest and most outstanding interdenominational church in the western United States. The natural stone arches and copper main door of the church are thick and artistic. The composition, painting, and use of color in the murals on the windows are exquisite, worthy of being called the "crown jewel of Stanford University architecture".
☕️If you're tired from shopping, you can take a break at the Stanford Bookstore, where coffee and snacks are available. In addition to selling books, the Stanford Bookstore also has many Stanford University merchandise, such as cups, ornaments, stationery, keychains, and even co-branded clothing in a full range of sizes. This other university is called Stanford University
For me, Stanford's architecture is beautiful, yellow brick red tiles, stable, with lawyers in the 17th century Spanish missionary style - no Haval, Yale University years Different buildings of different styles.
Entering the university, the first thing to see is the red-roofed buildings surrounded by ochre stone walls. The arcades meet and the palms line up. It is full of strong cultural and artistic atmosphere in the dialogue between classical and modern.
This university is famous for Palm Avenue. If you have enough time, you can treat yourself as a student here, and slowly feel the atmosphere of the university. Walk slowly and you may accidentally walk into an imposing manner. The magnificent church building is unbelievable and it turns out to be a university. I feel that I am so small, if I can study in such a school, it is also a luxury.

Stanford University Founded in 1891 by the then railroad tycoon Lilan Stanford and his wife Jane Lethrop Stanford. This is to commemorate their son who died on the eve of his 16th birthday because of typhoid fever. The architectural style is unified, the yellow brick and red tiles are all stable and flat, and they are all the missionary styles of Spain in the seventeenth century. Campus designer Frederick Law Olmsted is also a designer at Central Park. Near the parking lot are two rows of straight palm trees, walking along the palm trees, which is the central square. Some people are reading in the sun, and some people are playing with their dogs here. The weekend campus is like a big park.
