Lok Kawi Wildlife Park is both a zoo and a botanical garden. The flora and fauna presented in the park lives in Borneo or in other regions of Malaysia. The park has several families of unique primates and a large collection of tropical animals and birds. For the convenience of visitors, small electric trains run through the vast territory. Botanical garden is part of the tropical forest, along which paths are laid to the most interesting flora objects: orchids, ferns, rafflesia - the largest flower on the planet with a diameter of up to 1 meter and a weight of up to 12 kilograms. I am so pleased I went to Lok Kawi. I wanted to spend more time observing orangutans and the conditions were good for them, lots of orangutans to observe. Also an animal show where you could see snakes. Other animals include Proboscis Monkeys, tiger, elephants, leopard, birds, gibbons etc. Spent 3 hours here and was v worthwhile. Although this place is not really big, I would recommend everyone to go. I spend around 2 hours here in total. At the entrance you will find some older bird cages, which are not the best. But later in the park, the cages become bigger and better decorated for the animals. There was quite some construction going on, so hopefully this will result in all bigger/better cages in the future.Had lots of fun during animal show which were full of surprises.My kids having so much time. We found the staff to be very polite and knowledgeable, the animals all looked healthy and content. There are 4 beautiful orangutans which we were able to feed. Great experience with the wildlife

We stayed at the Borneo Aloha Airport Hotel on the first night. It was a lifesaver for us, as we arrived in the early morning with a child. The hotel offers airport transfer service, which saved us the trouble of waiting for a taxi with our tired bodies and luggage. It was also convenient for my husband to meet us the next day. The hotel was average, but the front desk staff spoke Chinese, so communication was not a problem. The breakfast was average, but the airport transfer staff were very attentive. They helped us carry our luggage and held umbrellas for us when it rained, which was very heartwarming. We stayed at The Shore for the next two nights. We booked a one-bedroom apartment with a living room, kitchen, and bathroom. It was spacious and felt like home. The landlord spoke Chinese and could communicate via WeChat, but they were a bit slow to respond after we checked in. The location was excellent. The central market was across the street, which was very convenient for buying and processing seafood. It was a 5-minute walk to Durian Street, the Filipino Market, and various food spots, allowing us to enjoy the local food feast. However, the elevator was very slow, the pool was a bit dirty, and our room on the 20th floor was a bit damp. We stayed at the Pacific Sutera Hotel for the last two nights. We stayed in a golf view room with a wide view. The Pacific Sutera Hotel and the Magellan Sutera Resort share facilities, and there is a shuttle bus between them. It is also easy to walk between them. Watching the sunset at the Sky Bar on the 12th floor of the Pacific Sutera Hotel was amazing. Guests over 18 can enter without ordering anything and just take photos. The snorkeling experience at the Magellan Sutera Resort's small beach was great. We saw small fish, sea urchins, and fish on the seaside boardwalk. The Magellan Sutera Resort's pool was fun, with slides, water basketball, and a standard swimming lane. The Pacific Sutera Hotel's pool had an inflatable slide. Although the beaches at both hotels were not large, they were enough for children to play. As for dining, there was a buffet on the 2nd floor of the Pacific Sutera Hotel, and guests could order food on the 1st floor. There was also food near the Magellan Sutera Resort's pool. The food we ordered at the Magellan Sutera Resort was good. However, we did not encounter any discrimination against Chinese people, as mentioned online. The staff were not very proactive, so we had to ask more questions. Overall, the hotels we stayed at during our New Year trip to Kota Kinabalu had their pros and cons, but they all gave us a unique experience. Lok Kawi Wildlife Park welcomes you to see rare animals from Borneo (Kalimantan). The proboscis monkeys are so cute😍 They have long noses and impressive tails. They look dignified even when they're sitting✨ The longer their noses, the more handsome they are. Their feeding behavior is so comical that I wanted to watch them through the glass forever. The binturong, which only lives in the jungles of Southeast Asia, has a popcorn-scented urine😊 Borneo is the island of orangutans, so of course you can meet lively orangutans⭐️ Each cage is huge! And since there are no cages for orangutans and binturongs, they can relax and unwind❤️ There are also rare Malayan bears, the smallest bears in the world, and emus, making this a hot spot for animal lovers♪ The park isn't very large, so you can relax in it for an hour or two. #aug_trip My main purpose in Borneo was to see the proboscis monkeys. I took a river cruise to see the proboscis monkeys in the wild, but I wanted to see them up close... And so I found Lok Kawi Zoo. It's a little far from downtown Kota Kinabalu, but I was able to get there by Grab. In addition to the proboscis monkeys, I was able to see many other animals, including orangutans, Malayan sun bears, and Borneo elephants. My favorite was the gibbon! Its unique movements are very interesting, so it has become one of my favorite animals. The place is clean. All the animal looks healthy too.. There was a show they did during my visit there but unable to enter because there was too many visitor at that time. Zoo keepers are very friendly. Will explain about the animals. Also they let you feed the animals (elephants and bears). Bird show was fun. At 11:15am / 3:30pm daily. Takes about 1.5 - 2hours for the whole park. Can end your visit with the bird show at 11:15am. We have been to Lokkawi wildlife at Kota Kinabalu Sabah. The place was spacious and quite tired to walk around. There got animal show at 11.00 am and the show so entertaining. We used to touched the snake and birds. Kids surely like this place. #Lokkawi
