we were in Italy and got a chance to visit the harbour. We were shocked by the amazing feel there is a little cute, colourful house along the harbour. There were not a lot of tourists and the weather was just amazing! The water is clear blue and the sky is beautiful beautiful as well. There are lots of bars and restaurant nearby and the food looks amazing. Do you have to try the local cuisine and I’m sure you will be surprised by the good food there! I just don’t want to leave because this is such an amazing place. Please come to visit this place and you will not regret ❤️

Getting There - train to Santa Margarita / Portofino
Nice view and seaside walk
Around 1 hour to Portofino
[Dreamy Harbor Tour] Explore the colorful secret of Portofino, Italy.
Hey guys 👋, today I want to introduce you to a super dreamy travel destination - Portofino, Italy! 🌟
🌈 Portofino, a dreamy harbor town
Portofino, a small town in northwestern Italy, is known for its colorful buildings and charming harbor views. It is not only a vacation destination for celebrities but also a dream destination for every traveler.
🌸 Best time to visit
Late spring to early fall is the most beautiful and busiest season in Portofino. If you want to avoid the crowds, you can choose late fall and early spring, but be sure to pick a sunny day, because when the weather is bad, the colorful houses will lose their luster.
🚢 How to get there?
Ferry: Portofino is easily accessible by ferry from coastal cities near Genoa.
Train + Bus: If you take the train, go to Santa Margherita train station first, then transfer to a bus to Portofino.
Self-drive: Although self-driving sounds free, it is not recommended because the parking lot is small and expensive, and it is full in summer.
🏰 What to do?
Castle Adventure: There is a castle on the cliff, and you can walk up the winding path to enjoy the harbor view from different angles. At the top, you can overlook the entire harbor and the sea.
Seaside Walk: The seaside path in Portofino is a great place for walking and taking photos.
🍽️ What to eat?
When you come to the seaside, you must eat seafood! Seafood pasta and grilled seafood are good choices, and the thick vegetable soup (minestrone) is also worth a try. If you want to avoid high service fees, you can choose small restaurants in the alleys, which are more affordable and delicious.
🌟 Nearby exploration
Camogli: A small fishing village not far away, with a beautiful view of the blue sea and the distant Alps.
San Fruttuoso: A 20-minute boat ride away, there is a monastery built in the 11th century and still in use today, as well as the famous "Christ of the Abyss" statue.
📸 Photo spots
Colorful houses: The colorful houses in Portofino are a must-see, whether in the bright daylight or the night lights, they have a unique flavor.
Seaside restaurant: The terrace almost extends to the sea, which is a great place to watch the sea and chat, and also a good place to take photos.

Portofino Italy 🇮🇹
#italytrip
Just got back from a day in Portofino, and it was like walking into a postcard! This tiny harbor town on the Italian Riviera is all about elegance and charm. We took a ferry from Santa Margherita Ligure, which cost about €10 each way, and arriving by sea with the colorful buildings coming into view was breathtaking 🚤🌈. There's no entrance fee to enter Portofino, but it has a luxurious feel, with high-end boutiques and yachts docked in the marina.
We wandered around the piazzetta, which is lined with chic cafés and shops. For lunch, we splurged a bit on seafood pasta at a waterfront restaurant, and it was worth every euro 🍝🦞. After lunch, we hiked up to Castello Brown, the entrance fee was €5, and the views from there are absolutely stunning. You get a panoramic view of the town and the sparkling Ligurian Sea below 🌊🏰.
Nearby, Paraggi Beach is a short walk away if you're looking for a spot to relax by the water. We also took a stroll to the Church of St. George for another great viewpoint. Portofino might be small, but it’s packed with beauty and a perfect spot to soak up the Italian Riviera vibe.

Italy | Instead of Cinque Terre, I recommend you come here
Portofino, located in the Liguria region of Italy, is a charming town known for its unique Mediterranean flair and stunning natural scenery. This is a small and beautiful port town with colorful buildings, a tranquil bay, and a charming harbor that attracts visitors from all over the world, especially European elites. It is one of the most favored vacation spots for Europe's top wealthy individuals.
Beautiful and unspoilt
Portofino was an interesting stay. I was here for two nights. On arrival from San margehuerita. I rode about 4kms in the bus. It was comfortable and way cheaper to what was estimated for the taxi. And i mean like 10-15 times. Portofino had a quiet way about it. That was until those boats arrive and a whole lot of American step in. Then it gets noisy. I enjoyed my stroll around. I tend to be okay with not doing much but exploring places on foot. A day was spent doing so and locally exploring tourist and food options.
I have to say that things were unreasonably expensive in those cafe's and restaurants in town. The Hill's a bit of task to climb and explore. While the marina is small and good for a day at the most. Lots of tourists here, i mean you get to hear everything but italian. Another day i spent mostly hiking to San Fruotosso and then enjoying the beach there. I did find some decent options there. All in all it made for a nice stay.

Portofino timeless gem that exudes elegance
#familytrips2024
Nestled along the rugged coastline of the Italian Riviera, Portofino is a timeless gem that exudes elegance, charm, and a touch of Mediterranean magic. As a travel blogger with a penchant for seaside havens, I found myself drawn to this picturesque fishing village, where colorful buildings cascade down hillsides, and azure waters glisten under the warm Mediterranean sun.
Exploring Portofino's winding cobblestone streets felt like stepping into a postcard scene, where every corner revealed a new delight – be it a quaint café tucked away in a sun-dappled piazza or a boutique showcasing local artisans' wares.
But it was the harbor that truly stole my heart. Lined with pastel-hued villas and fishing boats bobbing gently in the breeze, it exuded a sense of tranquility and timeless beauty. I couldn't resist the temptation to savor fresh seafood at one of the waterfront restaurants, where the flavors of the sea danced on my palate with each mouthwatering bite.
As the sun dipped below the horizon, casting a golden glow over the village, I found myself entranced by the sheer romance of Portofino. Whether strolling along the waterfront promenade or sailing into the sunset, every moment felt like a dream come true – a testament to the enduring allure of this Mediterranean paradise.

Stunning view of a Portofino beach!
Stunning view of portofino
An amazing trip to portofino, the view of the sea was stunning! Would highly recommend for family and friends. The sea was also amazing to swim in!
Other places are worth your time!
#portofino
Yes the name has it all. But there are other places around portofino that are worth more of a detour. Portofino is not that great. We went there the weather wasn’t amazing but also the harbor was full of tourist shuttles instead of yachts.
There is no authenticate architecture anymore. All is a facade.
I wouldn’t go here again. There is no charm.
But ofc that’s for you to explore as well!

My journey to Portofino, Italy, was a voyage into a coastal masterpiece. Nestled along the Italian Riviera, this charming fishing village was a canvas of colorful buildings and azure waters. Walking along the harbor, the yachts and fishing boats painted a picturesque scene. The Piazzetta's vibrant atmosphere and charming cafés were a delight. Hiking up to the Castello Brown, the panoramic views of the Ligurian coast took my breath away. Portofino's proximity to the natural beauty of Paraggi Beach and the allure of Cinque Terre made it an ideal base for exploration. Every moment in Portofino was like stepping into a postcard, capturing the essence of Italy's coastal elegance and captivating spirit.
Portofino, Italy: A Lemon-Scented Escape 🍋🇮🇹
Get ready to indulge in the vibrant beauty of Portofino, Italy. This small fishing village on the Ligurian coast is a hidden gem that offers a taste of la dolce vita. From the colorful buildings to the sparkling sea, Portofino is a feast for the senses. Immerse yourself in the local culture, savor the mouthwatering cuisine, and experience the charm of this Mediterranean paradise. Get lost in the winding streets, enjoy the golden hour by the harbor, and let the magic of Portofino transport you to a world of pure bliss.
Rugged mountain roads, picturesque villages.
Quiet mountain hills, charming little villages. Portofino, Italy, where I visited over 20 years ago.
It was a rainy afternoon in summer, and the rain was pouring down non-stop. Suddenly, a rainbow appeared between the clouds. At that time, the gentleman was driving with me. I remember we were turning on the narrow mountain road, and I was getting dizzy from the fast turns. Time flies, the gentleman is no longer here, but I revisited the place and felt all kinds of emotions in my heart.
As if in a moment, my daughter has grown up. Watching her run up and down the hillside with an excited smile, I forget the hidden pain in my heart.
The water is blue, and there is a castle next to the small village. There is a shortcut, which is a little steep. With full strength, climb up step by step. In about 20 minutes, you will arrive at this castle. Looking down at the bay below, colorful flowers climb the walls on both sides of the path, and people walk and stop. There is no way, every step is a beautiful scenery, and tourists linger back and forth.
The speed of descending the mountain has increased a lot. When I rushed to the foot of the mountain, I found that there was still mountain spring water flowing down here. I filled a bottle with it casually.
The scenery at the foot of the mountain has a unique charm. On the slope opposite the harbor where ships dock, there is a statue of a rhinoceros, and on the fence next to it, there are six bright pink Meerkats. This is Museo Del Parco (Portofino), the Parco Museum. It is an outdoor museum founded in the early 19th century, located among the flowers and plants on the hillside. Over the past 20 years, it has collected more than 120 sculptures made of different materials from international artists from all over the world.
Walking along the coast, looking around, admiring the sculptures full of artistic atmosphere, and noticing the small harbor filled with boats of different sizes, hanging flags of different countries, as if someone had temporarily moved the United Nations headquarters here.
The shops and restaurants in the village are very lively. Laughter rises and falls, and people are completely immersed in the atmosphere of joy.
We walked and stopped, forgetting our fatigue. Walking along the winding road by the sea for less than 10 minutes, there is a quiet beach suitable for swimming and diving. Unfortunately, there were at least hundreds of people coming down from the big boat, and it quickly filled up here. But everyone crowded together and found a temporary resting place for themselves. Enjoying themselves and not interfering with each other, it was peaceful.
I invite you to come here, my friend.
