Xingqing District, belonging to the capital of Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region, Yinchuan City, is located in the eastern part of Yinchuan City. It is the core area of the capital Yinchuan City, and the center for science and technology, culture, education, economy, finance, and trade logistics of the autonomous region. The central location is situated. To the east, it borders Etuoke Qianqi of Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, to the west is adjacent to Tanglai ancient canal, and to the south and north, it borders Lingwu City, Yongning County, Helan County, and Pingluo County respectively, with a total area of 828 square kilometers.
Xingqing District was established in the third year of Tang Yifeng (678 AD). In the fourth year of Song Tianxi (1038 AD), the Dangxiang ethnic leader Li Yuanhao established the Western Xia Dynasty, with the capital at Xingqing Prefecture. In November 2002, after the approval of the State Council, the administrative division was readjusted and renamed Xingqing District.
