In northern China lies the autonomous region of Ningxia which mostly characterised by sweeping sand dunes that go on for miles! I’ve been twice (January and June). In January, most of the desert and fresh water is completely frozen over which is quite surreal for a desert. 4X4 cars were able to drive over the oasis because it was so solidly frozen. In the summer, it can become quite warm but still comfortable enough to camp overnight. There are camel rides available although we chose to hike. Away from the same dunes, you can find wine vineyards and pretty mountains. A great place for nature lovers #ningxia #mountainview #deserts #china

This place is an impressive archeological gem, its facade is beautiful and its reconstruction from ruin was a total success.
