2. Come to Changping Yinshan Pagoda Forest for a date with history and nature
Preliminary preparation
- Documents: Bring valid documents such as Mainland China ID card for ticket purchase and other possible identity verification.
- Clothing: Choose appropriate clothing according to the season. You can bring a coat in spring, pay attention to sun protection in summer, prepare long sleeves in autumn, and wear warm clothes in winter. It is recommended to wear comfortable sports shoes🔞.
- Items: Prepare sun hats, sunglasses, sunscreen, rain gear, mosquito repellent, etc. You can also bring trekking poles for easy climbing.
- Food and water: There are limited restaurants in the scenic area. You can bring your own drinking water and dry food, such as bread, fruit, chocolate, etc.
- Others: Download navigation software in advance and bring a camera or mobile phone to record the beautiful moments.
Transportation
- Self-driving: Drive north from Lishuiqiao to Xiaotangshan, or drive north along the highway from Xingshou Village east of Qincheng, Changping. You can also take the Beijing-Chengde Expressway, exit at Changping Xiguan Exit, drive toward Ming Tombs, turn right at Changling Road Intersection, and then drive toward Jiudu River.
- Public transportation: Take bus No. 345 from Deshengmen and get off at Changping Dongguan, then transfer to bus No. 31; or take the subway to Changping Station, then transfer to bus No. 31 to Yinshan Pagoda Forest Station.
Ticket Information
During the peak season (April 1st to October 31st), adults are 20 yuan per person and students are 10 yuan per person; during the off-season (November 1st to March 31st), adults are 15 yuan per person and students are 7.5 yuan per person.
Tour route
- For those with better physical strength: Walk up along the hiking trail from the entrance of the scenic area, passing the Dharma Platform, the Waist-turning Tower, the Bell and Drum Tower and other attractions, and finally reach the Buddha's Peak.
- For those with average physical strength: Walk up along the road from the entrance of the scenic area, passing the main pagoda area, the preaching platform, the waist-turning pagoda and other attractions, and finally reach the Buddha's Peak.
Must-see attractions
- Main Pagoda Area: There are seven pagodas in the core area, including the Fahua Temple Pagoda, the Huayan Temple Pagoda, etc., which are scattered in height and of various shapes.
- Dharma Platform: The highest point in the scenic area, overlooking the entire scenic area and the mountains and villages in the distance.
- Waist-turning Pagoda: An octagonal pagoda about 20 meters high. Legend has it that walking around the pagoda three times to the left and three times to the right can relieve back and leg pain.
- Bell and Drum Tower: A two-story pavilion-style building with a large bell and drum on top.
Photography Guide
- The light is soft in the early morning or evening, which is suitable for shooting silhouettes or panoramas of Tallinn and can produce blockbuster effects.
- Around 3 pm, the sun shines on the main tower area, and the towers seem to be coated with a layer of golden light, which is very photogenic.
Surrounding Food and Accommodation
- Food: There are snack stands in the scenic area where you can taste Changping strawberries, donkey meat hotpot and other special foods. There are farmhouses in the surrounding Yanshou Town where you can experience the flavor of the countryside.
- Accommodation: You can choose to stay in a farmhouse in Yanshou Town, or return to Changping City, where there are more hotels and B&Bs to choose from.
