Autumn in the Forbidden City is so beautiful.
The ginkgo season in the Forbidden City is a must-see in Beijing in autumn! 🍁
💛 When you come to Yanxi Palace in the Forbidden City, you will be attracted by an amazing ginkgo tree! It contrasts with the red wall, and the golden leaves are simply picturesque! This year's ginkgo tree has already borne fruit, and the tree on the right has not yet turned yellow, but the one on the left is very lush, making it a great choice for taking photos.
🤩 On a clear day, you can see the perfect combination of ancient and modern! This visual impact is simply amazing! The golden ginkgo trees and the royal buildings complement each other, as if traveling through time and space, feeling the charm of history!
🍂 The ginkgo season in the Forbidden City is here again, come and feel this warm autumn! Don't forget to bring your camera and capture your own exclusive beauty! 📷

The tree has survived longer than the people in the palace. 赞👍

I finally captured the glowing and warming ginkgo trees at the Yanxi Palace
After waiting for two weeks, I finally got the good weather in Beijing, and the ginkgo leaves at Yanxi Palace have all turned yellow!
The ginkgo trees I photographed at the Forbidden City two weeks ago looked gray and white due to the lack of light and the heavy smog.
With the blessing of light and shadow this week, the atmosphere of the photos was immediately captured, and I finally saw the warm side of the Forbidden City.
With such good sunlight, although Consort Anling can no longer see it, we must.
Here's my guide to using light and sharing photo spots. There's a strong wind in the suburbs this week, but it's slightly better in the city. Those who want to see Yanxi Palace should hurry up.
1️⃣ Lighting tips:
✨ There are two ginkgo trees in Yanxi Palace, and the one to the east is not in good condition this year. In the morning, the sunlight shines on the tree to the east, and you can take a photo of both trees together; after noon, the sunlight moves to the west side, and you can take a photo of the western tree alone, which has a strong autumn atmosphere.
✨ Move your position and use a tree or eaves to block part of the sunlight to capture the starburst effect, which adds a lot to the photo.
2️⃣ Must-photograph spots sharing:
✨ The palace lanterns outside the corridor of Yanxi Palace, get close to it, squat down, and you'll find a pleasant surprise!
✨ Take backlit photos of the two ginkgo trees inside the palace.
✨ Go behind the Lingzhuo Xuan (Western-style building) and shoot the ginkgo trees through the window panes to add depth to the picture.
✨ Use a telephoto lens to capture various details, open the aperture a bit more, and blur the ginkgo leaves a bit to use as a background, which looks better.

Beijing walk | The ginkgo trees in Yanxi Palace are at their most beautiful
Besides the first snow in the Forbidden City, which is stunningly beautiful, the yellow ginkgo trees in autumn are also a good time to walk in the Forbidden City. The red walls and yellow tiles of the Forbidden City, how can one not be fascinated by Oriental aesthetics.
Places in the Forbidden City with ginkgo trees: Yanxi Palace, Eighteen Hua, Cining Garden, outside Tiren Pavilion, now is the best time to see the ginkgo trees in Yanxi Palace.
Because I went in the afternoon, I managed to capture beautiful sunsets and shadows before the museum closed. It's also a good idea for sisters who can't make it in the morning to come in the afternoon.
Refer to everyone's autumn viewing route, you can follow: Donghua Gate - Southeast Corner Tower - Wumen - Yanxi Palace - Shoukang Palace - Cining Garden - Ice Cellar - Eighteen Hua - Donghua Gate
If you want to get a panoramic view of the Forbidden City, it is recommended to go to the nearby Jingshan Park after visiting the Forbidden City. In addition to ginkgo trees and red walls, you can also get a panoramic view of the Forbidden City from the top of Jingshan Park (see picture three for details).
Park opening hours: 6 am to 9 pm, ticket price 2r, advance booking required.
Remember to call a taxi in advance after the tour, as it is very congested and difficult to get a taxi at the entrance of the scenic spot.
